With the holiday weekend, why don't we make the deadline something like Monday or Tuesday. Potentially there are a lot of people away from home with family.

Sing it Critic. Today symbolizes everything that is wrong with this country. We spend a day as a nation, giving thanks and helping people less fortunate than us. We spend that day with family and friends, reflecting on memories and life. Then the very next day we go out and engage in an orgy of greed and dangerous consumerism. People literally fight to be first in line to spend their money on things they don't need. They charge themselves into debt levels that lead them into bankruptcy and ruiniation of the credit. And for what? A cheap DVD player? A new computer? Bah. There is no reason to bastardize Christmas for this crap.

Read up on freedom of speech. It has nothing to do with a privately owned message board. A spot like this can be held liable for the content that appears on the board, so they have the right to stop what they deem as unfit. And as to your last line of your post, an ignore feature on the board is actually much more representive of real life. If there is a controversial author that you don't like, no one forces you to look at their writings. But if you just happened to be scrolling down a thread, there is nothing to stop the writings of someone you have no interest in reading from popping up on your screen. An ignore button fills a service for the posters here. Also if used properly, it could prevent problems, as people don't like each other and look for reasons to argue, can now ignore each other, and never know that anything was said.

Actually I am going to knitpick a bit, but the Soybean rust could be a huge deal. What it is a a fungus that destroys bean crops. It has destroyed a big percentage of the crops in Brazil, and was just found for the first time in the US within the last month, down in LA. Something like this if it spread here, would be a deathknell to many farmers who are already getting by on tiny margins.
