Scrub 3rd base coach
Heck I'd wear a mike for a lot less than that, granted if it was at one of these games lately, they'd only be able to put about every 5th word or so on the air...

garland rips sox fans
And just to balance this thread out, I will say that White Sox fans also are on the opposite end of the spectrum when it comes to recognizing and giving props for good plays too. We applaud when a hitter hits the ball the other way with a runner on second and less than two outs. We applaud good defense. The OF's get standing O's after coming out to the field when they do something good at the plate. Pitchers get standing O's coming off of the field after pitching well almost every inning they do something good.

Stark on Frank
This is a little old, but it makes the point. Almost six weeks into the season, the White Sox are scuffling to score runs. One of the most amazing numbers on their stat sheet is this: Frank Thomas is hitting .183 against right-handed pitching, with more strikeouts (15) and walks (17) than hits (13). "His bat is so slow now," said one AL scout, "that he can't hit a good inside fastball if you tell him it's coming. He just can't handle that inside gas. The only balls he hits are breaking balls or, if he really cheats, some fastballs away. But that's it."

Wow. I could almost see this if we were talking about college kids, but who thinks that they can get away with this kind of stuff?

Son for sale
A man who jokingly offered his five-year-old son for sale on the Internet has had to explain himself to police after a complaint from a concerned web surfer. Police officers visited Alex Wilson at his Scottish home after being alerted by a Canadian woman who spotted the offer on a Web Site selling bicycles and prams, the Times newspaper reported on Friday. 'Hyperactive kid for sale, good at vacuuming, not great at washing dishes because he's too short,' the ad read. 'Guaranteed to annoy. Five pounds ($8) or nearest offer.' Wilson, 33, of Carrickstone, placed the ad as a joke about two years ago to tease his son Liam, now aged seven. He then forgot all about it until he heard from the police, the Times said. 'The police officer was quite jokey at the end of the conversation, but said I'd have to remove the advert,' Wilson told the newspaper.

Are you grown up yet?
http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=stor...ife_adults_dc_1 Most Americans believe someone isn't grown up until age 26, probably with a completed education, a full-time job, a family to support and financial independence, a survey said on Thursday. But they also believe that becoming an official grown-up is a process that takes five years from about the age of 20, concluded the report from the University of Chicago's National Opinion Research Center. The findings were based on a representative sample of 1,398 people over age 18 surveyed in person in 2002. It had an error margin of plus or minus 3 percent. The poll found the following ages at which people expect the transitions to grown-up status to be completed: Age 20.9 self-supporting; 21.1 no longer living with parents; 21.2 full-time job; 22.3 education complete; 24.5 being able to support a family financially; 25.7 married; and 26.2 having a child. 'There is a large degree of consensus across social groups on the relative importance of the seven transitions,' said Tom Smith, director of the survey. 'The only notable pattern of differences is on views about supporting a family, having a child and getting married. 'Older adults and the widowed and married rate these as more important than younger adults and the never-married do,' he added. 'This probably reflects in large part a shift in values across generations away from traditional family values.' The most valued step toward reaching adulthood, the survey found, was completing an education, followed by full-time employment, supporting a family, financial independence, living independently of parents, marriage and parenthood.

Wee Willie
Willie Harris = 4A player. He might even make a good guy off of the bench, but I haven't seen anything that saids he should be a starter.

Danny Wright or Danny Wrong
We will lose, Danny will give up 3 runs in the first and look like our usual dead selves.

Disloyal MY ASS! If anything with this pathetic effort they have shown us, the players have been disloyal to US! They aren't paying to see us, we are paying to see them. I know Jon is frustrated right now, but to lash out at the fans is ignorant. There is no reason that this team should be playing as heartlessly as they are, and as a paying customer I have the absolute right to voice my opinion at their play. On the bright side if these comments make it into the public forumn, and get a little publicity, Jon Garland just bought his own ticket out of town.

all personal attacks prove is that the maturity isn't there to beat the arguement, so instead you go after the person. Try to keep it to the arguement, or no one will have any respect for what you say.
