  1. Watching the games it was a much bigger factor than that number shows.
  2. The biggest reasons given, and that I saw, were some terrible defense behind him, as well as the whole "not closing" part. It turned out awful, but the worst implications long term is if it gives Jerry a reason to not want to move at the top of the market because of risk.
  3. MiLB deal with an option for 23
  4. They also run great sales on a regular basis. I am on $1 a month from last Black Friday.
  5. If they did anything it would be a nontender with a MiLB deal like they did with Ryan Burr
  6. If I read the previous information correctly, we are talking about something like a million dollars to do this. This isn't real money here.
  7. Yep, that's one roster spot. Will be interesting to see if they try to resign him for down the road.
  8. Speaking of SWS, I learned something today. If you book a flight with points, you can actually get a refund of points if the flight gets cheaper later on. We booked a trip we are going on around Christmas with points. It wasn't the flight I wanted, so I have been checking into the "change" menu on a regular basis to see if it the ones we really wanted to go on get cheaper. I rebooked a couple of weeks ago to something marginally better, but still not ideal. Well one I was looking at it today, one of the legs of the flight showed it was about 2000 points per person cheaper than it was when I booked it. So I went through the "change" process for the exactly same flight, and low and behold I got the points back.
  9. So which starting capable OFs are willing to sign deals and sit around and wait for injuries?
  10. It is the normal structure around professional sports. While GMs typically have a lot of power, that power is not absolute. Occasionally that leads to people above the GM stepping in and doing something different.
  11. Looking as his numbers last year Conforto was pretty mediocre. What was wrong with him in 21? Is this a red flag year, or is there something that is legitimately fixable?
  12. To be fair, with 40 man rosters as they are, and options as they are, I am pretty sure there is no being able to insulate yourself against your 7th, 8th and 9th OFs playing in a game at the same time. Unless you are suggesting trading our entire OF, I am not sure what your answer is here that is also realistic. There is no way to have 9 starting OFs in the system.
  13. If you have an exception. That's the point, most aren't exceptions. Lefties on average hit righties better than right handed hitters do.
  14. I can't make sense of that, what is the break down?
  15. Its not a "dumbass mentality", it is a statistical advantage that is significant and real.
  16. This is what the Astros did to us the entire series. If we gave them an extra out, or the umps gave them an extra strike, they capitalized. I know the conversation was about how do you reduce the team ERA so much? The answer is right here again. 7 runs came after this missed call, that shouldn't have been. We saw this time after time in our series with the Astros.
  17. Go back and listen to Rick Hahn after he fired RR and tell me again what "the team" wanted. This was all Jerry. That's been obvious since the first rumor popped.
  18. Going to guess he is outside of the young range, so he doesn't apply to that pool
  19. Its too bad he isn't left handed, or he could be a perfect fit.
