    I didn't forget it, but I also don't think that AV will be a 35 OPS player at the playoffs, unless you prematurely turn him into a platoon player and turn him into a longer term failure.

    So not last season, not opening day, not May, but the middle of June when all of those deadlines have passed. I would be curious what change in all of that time that NOW Wander is a better option than what Tampa has had in place at all of those points in time, where he wasn't the most optimal option before today?

    The Rays approach is to pinch pennies by having the best prospect in baseball playing in the minor when he should be on their team so he doesn't become a FA or super 2 too soon. I would call that sub-optimal.

    Winning now is nice, but winning in October is WAY more fucking important. Don't lose sight of that. Brian Goodwin and Jake Lamb aren't going to help you win in October. Andrew Vaughn can help you win in October. Maybe I'd be more panicked now if we were behind, but we aren't, and the team chasing us has lost most of their starting pitching staff.

    Also the idea that somehow we have better players than Andrew Vaughn in the minor leagues buried below the 9 OFs we have employed this season at the major league level already is almost certainly false. It is the epitome of back up quarterback syndrome.

    Posts like this are such trash for no other reason, that in cases like this it is actually MUCH easier to prove a legal liability case on a civil level, than a criminal level, and past that SHE won't get put on trial when her accused should ACTUALLY be on trial because of how abuse and sex cases are currently tried.

    It seems like you feel that Andrew Vaughn will never improve, which I can't disagree with enough. He's a rookie going through rookie growth pains. Maybe a Jake Lamb is a better option today, but Andrew Vaughn is going to be a professional hitter for a long time at the major league level. If he had been able to play OF when he was drafted, he may well have been a 1-1 candidate. You given Andrew Vaughn all of the ABs you can because unlike Jake Lamb, the kid has major upside. Heck there is even a real chance that Vaughn is a better hitter by the end of this season, let alone the next 10 years.
