QUOTE(Texsox @ Nov 1, 2005 -> 09:52 AM) We should care about the on base percentage. The slugging is secondary. Which is why the stats geeks need to refine the OPS to reflect position in the order. It may be 75-25 for the lead off guy and 35-65 for the cleanup hitter. I know. I care about the "O" about 90% and the "S" about 10% for my leadoff man.

They'll never get it. :headshake Why would I care about OPS and slugging from my leadoff man?

QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Nov 1, 2005 -> 06:04 AM) Yeah, that was in the special Tribune Sunday too. Also, it was kind of funny seeing Citgo, I think congratulate Ozzie. Since they get a lot of their gas from Venezuela. I believe Citgo is owned by the Venezuelan government.

QUOTE(bighurt2719 @ Nov 1, 2005 -> 07:20 AM) some of it is interesting, but some of it is such a stretch it kind of makes you ask "what the hell?" Like he thing about Houston being by Route 45- it's not weird or wild, it's just a coincidence. It's just fun. Say, "huh" and carry on.

QUOTE(YASNY @ Oct 28, 2005 -> 09:16 AM) I just saw a classy sign in the crowd. It read, "John Rooney, thanks for the memories. YOU are a White Sox Winner!" Wow. Really cool.

QUOTE(Greg Hibbard @ Oct 28, 2005 -> 08:36 AM) I just came in on the Green Line. As I was pulling into Clark and Lake, I took a gander north to Wacker/LaSalle....pretty much completely packed as of 9:24. By noon, it'll be hopeless. My advice is to catch the parade further south. I'm not sure you'll be able to see much of the rally. Why didn't they do this at Grant Park? From what I understand there wasn't enough time to get Grant Park ready.

Talk about leaving out pertinent information...

QUOTE(Jordan4life_2005 @ Oct 27, 2005 -> 07:49 AM) Like I said. I'm horrible at creating polls. Thanks for pointing that out. Please Mods, fix that if you can. Don't sweat it. Good poll question, though. But, like you said, there's too many.

If you got choked up and was close to crying - that counts. I did. My wife and my buddy's wife were teasing me. I didn't care. I've seen my favorite football team win back to back Super Bowls (Broncos), I've seen the Bulls win championships, I've seen IU win a National title. Nothing compares to this and how I feel about it, nothing!

QUOTE(rudylaw @ Oct 26, 2005 -> 11:27 AM) It is not over yet buddy. I still have reservation about getting too excited, even being up 3-0. I will not even think about a world series until we have won the 4th game. I am still a nervous reck and I wish that I could enjoy this a little more. Drink more!
