  1. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Dec 23, 2005 -> 03:38 PM) Yeah I'm definitely a homer to say the #2 seed in the conference has a shot at going to the super bowl. Stop talking.
  2. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Dec 23, 2005 -> 03:50 PM) I love how people can just say this and not have to back it up with anything. ^ Quite of bit of comedic value to this thread so far. The Bears are DEFINITELY a championship contender. Like WHarris1 said, defense DOES win championships and with the #1 ranked D, I feel confident.
  3. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Dec 23, 2005 -> 02:47 PM) That sounds like a whole lot of speculation, no solid information. There was a threas a while back that discussed Stojakovic to the Bulls. Someone posted an articles talking about the connections between Stojakovic and Skiles and how Paxson said he would go after him or something along those lines.
  4. I also read somewhere that the Bulls were talking to Petrie about a Deng/Thomas for Stojakovic/Thomas deal.

  6. QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Dec 23, 2005 -> 02:31 PM) Well they are going about it the wrong way. With the exception of last night, they've misused Gordon big time and it's really hindering his development to the point in which I wouldn't be suprised if he just left after his contract was up. They try to make him a spot up shooter when his game was nothing like that. They also need to give Deng the ball more so he can create for himself alot more often. The plan you suggest is basically have this year as a throwaway year and wait for FA's to come in. Al Harrington isn't going to help this team as much as people think. Nazr is nothing without Tim Duncan or at least he hasn't proven to be anything without him. As far as Gay or Morrison, where do you plan on putting them? Both are pure SF's. We already have 2. LaMarcus Aldridge is the guy we need to go after. He draws alot of comparisons to Jermaine O'Neal and worst case scenario's have him as Channing Frye. He plays defense unlike Frye, however. This draft class is not weak. It's not the strongest of the decade, but I'd say it's 2nd strongest. People call it weak because the lack of "star" power which is the wrong way to evaluate a draft class. It is known and has been known that the Bulls' main target is Stojakovic.
  7. QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Dec 23, 2005 -> 02:23 PM) I could maybe understand the star in the endzone, but not in the middle of the field. I was glad he was knocked on his ass when he tried it. If I were a Cowboys player, I personally would've knocked him on the ass for disrespecting my team's logo. I love endzone celebrations, but disrespecting a team's logo is out of the question. Would you like it if TO ran to midfield at Soldier Field after he scored a TD? I bet not because he would be disrespecting the "C". The whole saga was funny to me. First in the endzone star then at midfield and then when he got popped by Teague. And this would never happen to the Bears, if TO tried something stupid with the logo, Mike Brown is on his ass in a second.
  8. I totally agree. And with most of the defense signed on for a few years, (Hillenmeyer is the only FA after this season) I feel confident that this team can be a winning team for a few years. Defense wins championships and the Bears have the #1 defense in the NFL. Only thing I would adrress is possibl more CB depth defensivley. With a defensive core, it allows the management to focus on improving the offense. Hopefully, we can get what we expect from Grossman. Benson and Jones seem to be doing "ok" at the RB position and the O-Line is one of the best in the league. We need to improve at the TE and WR positions. If we can get a consistent passing attack with the power-run game we have, and with the defense on top of it...we will be a force for a long time. And Lovie is there to lead us.
  9. Well, this weekend I will be working on the house Saturday and Sunday. Sunday painting the kitchen and dining room then sunday putting up new walls in the basement and making a fintess room and tool shed. But for my christmas, the family goes to church on the 6th and then we have the whole family come over on the 7th all day.

    Naughty or Nice?

I shoveled my mom's parking spot and saw my little sister's performance on Thursday. How does he know?
  11. Well, lets put it in Cubs/Sox perspective. They are 2 different teams with 2 different stadiums. 1 is relatively new, 1 is old and s***ty. There are DEFINITLEY 2 sets of fans. Having an inter-city football game would benefit IMO. It would be hard, as it would be a new team, to NOT be a fan of both though.....unless of course it was an existing franchise like the Dolphins or Vikings. I like the idea of the stadium for the Olympics but a 2nd team....I dunno.
  12. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Dec 23, 2005 -> 01:24 PM) There's no way Chicago wins the Super Bowl. No way. Uuuum, what makes you say that?
  13. QUOTE(Drew @ Dec 23, 2005 -> 02:48 AM) For me it's a tossup. I was at Game 3 in Anaheim, which was pretty damn cool to be there for. All the controversy over Eddings and AJ, and Garland comes in and tosses a four-hitter. Outstanding defensive performance and some exciting offense, but the game was never close. The fans came out with ThunderStix a-blazing but it quieted down in a hurry. I thought that was the most important game of the Series for the Sox. I was also at Game 1 of the World Series, which was a pretty damn good game. What are you talking about? Who told you all this? Game 3 hasn't even been played yet! Please do not bring any spoliers into this thread!
  14. QUOTE(knightni @ Dec 23, 2005 -> 02:19 AM) Seriously Slav, I was mostly inserting your ID cuz you are one of the biggest Bears fans on here. Ok, cool. I was just joking though. Seriously, I don't care lol. But thanks for the notion.
  15. QUOTE(knightni @ Dec 23, 2005 -> 01:29 AM) Not a shot. Just a play on the direct answer. WHAT!?!? Why did it have to be me? Thats some bulls***! I'm tired of this s***! ^ An answer you would have gotten from me a few months ago. It's cool. I was just messing around.
  16. QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Dec 23, 2005 -> 02:06 AM) The dancing on the star was not great. That was hilarious.
  17. HAHA....YOU'RE YOUNGER THAN ME SO I CAN SAY: HOPPI BORFDAY KEED!
  18. QUOTE(knightni @ Dec 23, 2005 -> 12:54 AM) Anyone visit http://www.bangcartoon.com ? He does the great NFL parody cartoons. They do a Podcast every week which is pretty damn funny and they ask a trivia question near the end of the show. Guess who won this week's trivia question! That's right...SoxFan1... nonono.. ME! Trivia Q last week: What NFL franchise has had the most 1,000 yard rushers.. how many and who were they? Being the fan I am, it was a bit of a softball question. Answer below: . . . . . . . . . . . . The Chicago Bears. They have had 10. Beattie Feathers Gayle Sayers Rick Casares Walter Payton Neal Anderson Raymont Harris Rashaan Salaam James Allen Anthony Thomas Thomas Jones I get a cool mini helmet of my choice! Bears of course (!) You guys should check out the site if you've never went there, or if you haven't seen his cartoons since he moved from extremeskins. Why you gotta take a shot at me like that?
  19. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Dec 23, 2005 -> 12:20 AM) ??? Oh, I misread. I thought we got 2 first rounders from the Knicks plus our own. My bad.
  20. Holy s***...we could have 3 1st round picks this year????
