QUOTE(RME JICO @ Jan 5, 2006 -> 11:18 PM) Urlacher should have been considered as the QB for the best Defense in the league, especially over Palmer. I think he is in the running for Def. POY.

QUOTE(mr_genius @ Jan 5, 2006 -> 10:57 PM) i'm playing Call of Duty 2 right now, it does indeed rock. Sure does.

QUOTE(mr_genius @ Jan 5, 2006 -> 10:52 PM) ok, it came with both of those so i'll try em out. EDIT:actually, i've already beat most the GTA on playstation2 and didn't think they were all that great. what are the best football and baseball games? i'm guessing the EA games are probably the best. EA is definitely the way to go IMO. Madden and NCAA Football 06 are great. Baseball wise, nothing beats MVP but this year they'll only have the college edition if you haven;t heard already.

I enjoy Madden games quite a lot on my XBox. Personally, all the Halo hype is BS to me. I find the game pretty lackluster. But that's just my opinion. If you like war games, any Call of Duty games pretty much rock. Midnight Club, Need for Speed, and Project Gotham Racing are the top 3 car games (in that order.) Also, NHL 2k6 look fricking spectacular. And as SNB said, the GTA games are better on Xbox than PS2.

QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Jan 5, 2006 -> 10:39 PM) How is it a poor team because someplayers werent great....... reason we won were because Buehrle, Garcia, Garland, Contreras, B-Mac, Cotts, Hermy, Jenks, Politte, Konerko, Podsenick, Dye, Iguchi, Pieryznski..... and Widger THAT SHOULD NOT BE IN GREEN!

QUOTE(RME JICO @ Jan 5, 2006 -> 09:58 PM) I guess you don't know binary, 01 is 1, 10 is 2, 11 is 3, 100 is 4, 101 is 5, etc. Thats the whole corny ass joke, 10 is not 10 in binary, it is 2. I guess I must have mixed up 10 and 01. I studied binary for a sememster and 1/2 last year in a Cisco Certification Computer class I took. Oh well.

QUOTE(RME JICO @ Jan 5, 2006 -> 06:53 PM) There are only 10 types of people in the world: Those who understand binary, and those who don't. Sorry, had to. Jugger, great analysis, one of the deepest I've seen in awhile. I scrubbed the schedule for next year and came up with 80 games vs winning teams, and 82 games vs losing teams. If the Sox win 50% of the games vs winning teams, and 75% of the games vs losing teams, they would win 101 games. I think that both of those percentages are fairly conservative too. When I did a conservative prediction with Win Shares, I came up with 99.67 wins So I figure their wins will be higher than both of those values, 102 or 103. My schedule analysis: http://www.soxtalk.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=45043 My Win Shares Prediction: http://www.soxtalk.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=45008 I believe your binary is a bit off but wouldn't 2 be 01?

Yes, and in Game 2, I predict MB getting rocked and pitching less than 2 innings and the Cafe Lotte Mariners beat the White Sox 19-2. The 2 White Sox runs coming from Tadahito Iguchi, who hit a line drive off Benny Agbayani's head, propelling it into the stands scoring Scott Podsednik, who also ironically, got HBP....in the head.

On Saturday I get to see what Sox gear I got for Christmas. WHOOT!

I hate Brett Favre but that is one pimp ass wallpaper.

My dad has somewhere from 10-100 dollars.

For the record, I did vote for the Colts but for someone to say that the Colts would win in a blowout or "easily" is absurd IMO.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jan 5, 2006 -> 04:29 PM) Dude, I'd say you can discount that very readily...the Colts were what, 0-5 in the preseason? Right before a 13 game regular season winning streak? Their offense didn't really get in gear for the first few games of the season either. I don't think you can discount it at all. It was 1st team vs 1st team. Record's mean nothing in pre-season, in any sport at that. And you also can't say "Well, their offense wasn't in gear." They didnt get any less practice or game-time than any other team. If you compare situations, then the Colts were "rusty" in the pre-season and you could onyl expect them to be "rusty" in the post-season after they havent played a real game in 3, soon to be 4, weeks. I don't think you can discount any head-to-head meetings.

QUOTE(tonyho7476 @ Jan 5, 2006 -> 04:32 PM) I agree...this is great. I just would love be able to watch the 1st inning of the Boston series, whenever I want. Nothing like a good old ass-beating. Our entire varsity baseball team watched that game in the African-American history room. The White Sox playoff games were our "Fall Practices."

QUOTE(Y2HH @ Jan 5, 2006 -> 10:42 AM) "Widely semi-known?!" You don't like my wording? Uhh!

I would say 6-7 out of 10 times, the Colts win. The Colts have not faced the best defense in the NFL but all the same, the Bears have not faced the top offense in the league. It would have to be a well executed game by the Bears and with minimal mistakes. But since our defense fell to #2 because of the Minny game with all the backups, TB has the #1 D.The Bears beat the Bucs 13-10 (Keep in mind no defensive pts) under the helm of Kyle Orton. Rex Grossman is twice the QB of Orton. I think the Bears would have a good shot of scoring 20 on the Colts. But the defense would have to play it's best game. They would have to put pressure on Manning all game and contain Edge. If they played this weekend, I'd pick the Bears simply because the Colts haven't played a real game in like 3 weeks. But, if the Colts and Bears both made it to the Super Bowl, then obviously, the Colts turned it on, and I'd have to pick the Colts. This weekend, I'd say 23-20 Bears. Super Bowl, I'd say 34-17 Colts. EDIT: And you CANNOT discout the fact that the Bears were winning 14-7 at halftime vs the Colts in the pre-season.

New Tejada News: O's reportedly make a proposal...

QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Jan 5, 2006 -> 01:37 AM) I am gonna ask this question right now: Do we really need Miguel Tejada? If you're gooing to take that road...did we really need any upgrades this off-season? I mean, we won the World Series. I'm sorry but you don't pass up opportunities to significantly upgrade you're team. Even though we'd be paying a pretty penny, we get the top SS in the MLB. And don't doubt KW getting some kind of prospect or reliever from them either. I'm on the Get Tejada bandwagon. -
QUOTE(Steff @ Jan 4, 2006 -> 02:48 PM) And a comparison of how mathematics and God are directly involved. And then somehow directly linking the number of atheists to the possible amount of wins for Brandon McCarthy based on the combined wind speeds of every 2005 tropical storm divided by the # of letters in Apu's last name.

How could we pass up a reliever with 6 fingers? Oh wait, his name is Antonio Alfonseca.

I love Cubs fans....bitter ones at that: A Sox fan pwning someone: ^ Very ironic....don't you think?

I could see them making an announcement at Soldier Field and the crowd going crazy, thus, giving the Bears a new-found thrust into the Super Bowl. -
QUOTE(ChWRoCk2 @ Jan 4, 2006 -> 05:31 PM) Which pitcher are you? You're Jon Garland. You're inconsistent, but you've got lots of talent. Killer slider, dude. Same, except my out pitch is the 2-seamer not the slider.
