  1. It certainly does not lack fear. I for one would be very afraid if we went into '05 with a top of the order that looked like that.

    Happy, Happy, and more Happy!!
  3. I thought it was a Clarkstar3000® cyborg they just fired up every New Year's Eve...
  4. And NOT talking about the atrocities committed by our military says what about the "Values" (LOL) party?
  5. Very true. Deserting your military post apparently is a pre-requisite to get you elected (and re-elected) these days, isn't it?
  6. It sounds like he was blindsided by the questions - I don't think he meant for it to be an airing of greviances, Festivus season though it may be. The story made it sound like Rummy was appealing to the troops in Kuwait to help project the "it's going well, no really" message that the Administration verey desparately wants us to believe back home. Unfortunately for him, he was in front of a packed room of primarily reservists taking issue over stop loss policies and the perception that they are not getting the same caliber gear as the regular military units are.
  7. Ha! That guy there is one cunning linguist.

Steff, your lack of information on 'small profusion defect' is most likely due to the fact that the nurse really screwed it up - it's supposed to be small PERFUSION defect. And yes, myocardial perfusion refers to the supplying of blood to the heart muscle. There could be a chronic thrombosis-type blockage issue, but there could also be a more accute onset issue like a so-called 'silent pulmonary embolism' at work. Like Tex said, don't mess around with the heart - get Jim to a good specialist and stop listening to lousy nurses... and us quacks at SoxMedTalk.com!

Got a good feeling you're gonna nail it and land the gig. Go kick some ass.
  10. ??? There are scumbags on every side, yes. But not all the scumbags have the gall to be talking up "values" (no less ministering to a youth congregation) as if they held the exclusive franchise even though their values apparently include f***ing the flock.
  11. You've been spending too much time at Murphy's and not enough time on your studies, young man...

??? Great book. That, Catcher in the Rye, and Cry the Beloved Country were the only modern fistion high school assignments worth reading.
  13. YYYUUUCCCKKKYYY!!! Good-N-Fruity's are OK (They're not Mine N IKe's, but they'll do). Good-N-Plenty's are just plain nasty.
  14. It should be. Unfortunately, it's not.
  15. Hershey's does make killer dark chocolate. I'll tell you the best kept tast-combination: Hershey dark chocolate and Sierra Nevada Celebration Ale (their Christmas seasonal brew). The floral/earthy hopiness and chewy maltiness of the Celebration is really nicely balanced with the dark chocolate. Try it, you'll love it!

I have not brought myself to read any of the Brian Herbert Dune installments because I love Frank's originals so much. I've heard good things about House Harkonen and House Atreides but I just can't see them living up to the originals. Then Again I did like Man of Two Worlds that Frank and Brian co-wrote before Frank died. Yeah, it was a poor man's Stranger in a Strange Land but I was in high school at the time, annd I liked that the lead character got stoned from eating basil. ...Man I would have saved a lot of money back then.
  17. YES!!! Finally. Otto is still churning out there somewhere but is of no consequence. Now I still have to get my screen porch put back together from the Frances/Jeanne tag team blitz.
  18. I put 'other'. The best winter feature on my car is a good cold A/C. :finger Our winters can be rough down here - sometimes the temperature doesn't even crack 80 degrees. On the other hand I actually had to wear long pants today, so it must be winter.
  19. Nice Seinfeld ref!
  20. There's.... no... SANTA???!???!??? Then who is that old bearded guy who keeps coming over and asking my wife to sit on his lap?
  21. Reeses Cups!!!! (getting a lot of votes so far )
  22. That's bulls***. The ad was promoting inclusion with the quite excellent tag line, "Jesus didn't turn people away. Neither do we." And it is seen in the current have-to-be-sensitive-to-the-feelings-of-the-"Values"(*cough!*)-voters climate as controversial. I realize it is not censorship per se, since these corporations are allowed to decide what ads they feel are appropriate and they do have to be wary of viewer backlash. But for NBC – home of the first sitcom with openly gay lead characters – to deem a church ad "too political" because it says, 'Look, we're about acceptance and inclusion and love for our neighbor' ... That's openly hypocritical and it really sucks. It also says the networks are well aware that the "Values" voters in the heartland are a force to be reckoned with and can make programmers think twice about any 'objectionable' content they might air.
  23. Yeah, but you never laid pipe with Pam Anderson (the pre walking-petri-dish-of infections version)...
  24. Welcome home, Nuke! Are you getting in the holiday spirit yet?
