Like shooting fish in a barrel, eh?

And thanks to a Super Bowl wardrobe malfunction, bits you'll probably never hear on the radio again.

Which reminds me... I could really go for a big Dickens Cider can.

One of my favorite Bob and Tom bits for sure. Full Disclosure: My wonderful wife (of nearly 9 years) and I almost didn't make it through the honeymoon. And yes, demon alcohol was to blame. We were in Naw'lins and I mistakenly left a souvinir Pat O'Brien's hurricane glass back at a bar somewhere. On account of afformentioned demon alcohol, this little incident erupted into a blowup of epic proportions and near divorce (go figure). To this day, Mrs. FlaSoxx refuses to drink another mint julep ever again.

Didn't the Ted Danson/Whoopie Goldberg blackface debacle teach us anything?

What a shock - Star Wars still doesn't work. If only a huge contingent of internationally-recognized physicists and other scientists who know a thing or two about such matters would have told someone this would never work and there are better ways to allocate $10 billion a year in defense spending. Oh, wait, that DID happen.

I've not had that, but I assume from the name it might be in the style of a Jenlain French/Flanders country ale? A few years ago I tried the Goose version of a traditional Finnish sahti - brewed with juniper berries and all - and it was stellar. It does the heart good to see some real beer hounds out there.

I know I'd go with the Abt (12). Those trappists sure know how to brew.

Of course, with the currrent exchange rates, DBAHO should only get credit for around 7,600 US posts...

Borchard cut from Mexican league????

You are correct on both counts, Sir. -
Staking 90% of the town as Cub Country was overstating things a tad. 75-80% maybe.

That was news to me as well -- I should read FutureSox more closely I guess

Shoe's arm could be ripped off and lying on the floor and KW would still have a hard-on for him. Me, I had enough of him in the rotation last year, not to mention getting tired of his whining ass.

I have no idea where our late charges came from, but I'm sure they are legit. All I know is they'll get their $6.85 over my dead body!!!

Talk about a knack for understatement. This would be the pharmaceutical discovery of the century. The story makes it sound like the drugs are in clinical-stage testing but there's no indication of how far along they are. Even if this has another several years in the clinical pipeline it still has enormous potential. Science rocks.

They see it as a possible way to start getting back some of the market share lost to NetFlix and In-Demand cable purchases. http://abcnews.go.com/Business/wireStory?id=328856 Now if only they will forgive everybody's existing late charge debt in their system I might actually be able to start going back to Blockbuster again.

That's a good looking little man in your Avatar. You do good work.

The late ontogeny of the Geschwind's territory is particularly intriguinng, as it may go a long way toward explaining why many kids that are very competent oral communicators show delays when it comes to developing interest or capacity for reading and writing. Oops, I mean... Stop usin' all them big wurds!

I don't think they're civilized enough for the death penalty in Canada, right?

I sure as hell hope not, as that could ensure we are well out of it by June and the money goes away anyway. As for not having everything in place, I think KW needed to get this done before the winter meetings closed yesterday and ran out of time to work everything else out. I continue to reserve judgement on the deal until I see what we do as far as acquiring another starting arm. If they don't do that then all this talk about moving solidly in another direction (pitching, defense, and speed) is a little premature if the pitching upgrade is not there and the defensive upgrade is marginal.

Wow, what a headscratcher. So many beers, so hard to choose... I would have to lean toward a Thomas Hardy's old ale that has been laid down properly at celler temperature for a good 20 years. Being that the last known large stash of such rare gems (found in a dusty corner of the Dorset brewery actually) was sold at auction a few years back, I figure it might buy me a little time while they round one up for me. Plus, it's a damn fine beer. I bought a bottle of 1985 vintage when I started grad school in 1989 and managed to keep it until the day I got my doctorate in 1997. Probably the best beer experience I ever had. Eldridge and Pope sadly got out of brewing after releasing the 1999 Hardy's, so if you find any bottles still available treat yourself and snatch them up. A brewery out of Devon started brewing the beer again under contract from Phoenix Imports and released their first vintage in August 2003. I have yet to track a bottle down, but they supposedly stuck to the original recipe and aging procedures and even used yeast propagated from the original Eldridge and Pope cultures, so I bet it probably comes close.

You might get burned at the stake if you're RIGHT - 'kill the messenger' and all that... If Willie is part of that deal AND if Ginter is not, I'd think it would be harder for people to justify it. For one thing, half of that 2B platoon notion is no loner there. Guess I'll wait until the dust settles and we actually have confirmation on the official trade.

Over 162 games I'm sure they'll see both incarnations. Here's hoping Carlos continues being a Cub Killer for the Brewers. Thanks for your service on the South Side, Carlos!
