  2. Correct. People want Tatis, and if said top prospect isn't Tatis, then the hyperbole sets in that if a top prospect isn't Tatis, then they're Delmon Young. There is no middle ground.
  3. People expected him to burst onto the scene like Tatis and be that good. The expectations were sky high.
  4. Anyone with a realistic view of prospects should be more than pleased with Moncada's performance. I argue with that guy on the other board all of the time. Does it kinda suck he's a notch below superstar? Yeah, it does. Not all #1 prospects in the game become superstars and that's ok. I guess the issue for some is that they expected Tatis/Jose Ramirez/peak Bryant and got something less than that.
  5. People are calling Moncada a disappointment because he's a 5 WAR player and not Jose Ramirez.
  6. I don't even think that......I just disagree with the idea that Moncada is beyond criticism and that he's a great player. I'd take 2019 Moncada who doesn't walk as much over this version. Just my opinion......even though both are roughly equal on the WAR scale.
  7. His offensive value is being propped up by the insane amount of walks he's taking right now.
  8. How much is the fine for saying "fuck" on national TV? Someone's getting fired lol
  9. Listen, Moncada is still my favorite position player on the Sox. I think the world of his talent. He and Robert are just so damn talented. I'm just a bit frustrated because of his toolset, every full season he's played there's been one aspect of his game that was lacking. in 2018, it was hitting for average, in 2019 it was walks, in 2020 he was covid injured and in 2021 he doesn't have any power. He's incredibly frustrating........I keep waiting for him to put together a season where he showcases every piece of his toolset but it hasn't happened yet. He's 26 with 4 full seasons worth of games in MLB now and you have to wonder if there's always going to be something with him where he doesn't put it all together. I still have hope that he's going to put it all together for a few seasons, but that hope is diminishing.
  10. It completely depends on if they trust that Rodon's injuries are truly behind him. If so, and Rodon isn't going for top dollar....then him. If they don't trust Rodon to stay healthy, then Lynn. I think they'd have a really hard time finding a taker for Keuchel.
  11. Sale pitched 147 innings in 2019 and his peripherals were pretty similar to the rest of his career except with HRs allowed. https://www.baseball-reference.com/players/s/salech01.shtml
  12. Sale missed half the season and ended up with TJS in ST in 2020. I'm pretty sure he was injured in 2019. They were avoiding the inevitable for a while.
  13. Very true....I'm not sure of any other high profile players that had it though. Gleyber Torres maybe? Talk about a power outage.
  14. He was bad in 2019 because he was injured?
  15. I'm concerned that it does disappear when you contract a disease that nobody knows much about the long-term ramifications. Freeman was the other guy that had it, and he's having a bad season this year.
