  1. You see we White Sox fans are perfectionists.....if they're not great in every aspect of the game, there's something to b**** about.
  2. Sale will be back soon and if he's himself I'm sure they're fine with him and Devers.
  3. There are plenty of things to like about Moncada's game even this year. The only issue is the power. He fixes that he's a bonafide top 10 player in baseball. I haven't seen him murder a fastball since ST.
  4. That's only if he's the same guy from this year going forward. If Moncada ever finds his power stroke, it's a no brainer.
  5. I know, but most of that value over the last 2 years has been defensively rather than offensively. He's been kinda like Heyward with the Braves and Cardinals the last 2 years. BTW fangraphs loves his D but OAA hates his D, so TIFWIW.
  6. That is the question, because all of those are accurate from 2018-present. Weak OBP Machine GG Moncada is a solid regular. He's just so damn inconsistent from year to year. I have no idea what to expect from him. I hope you get .550 SLG, 25+ HR Moncada with a .380+ OBP in 2022-24, that would be great. I guess solid regular is the average off all 3....the correct answer is I don't know? Don't get me wrong, I still think Moncada is a good player but if he doesn't get his power back I don't think he's worth his contract during the last 2 years of it.
  7. I don't think it's a hot take really. It's acknowledging reality. Moncada is a solid regular but not a star or anything. If you combine his 2019 slugging% and HRs with his 2021 walk rate, that's a top 5 player in baseball. I just don't know if we're ever going to see the power from 2019 ever again.
  8. There's a guy on another board I post on that claims that the Sox got nothing for Sale. He believes Moncada sucks and Kopech will be a reliever. I will admit, I was really excited about both players entering 2020 and then Kopech opted out and Moncada got Covid. Even this version of Moncada is still a solid player but you do expect more than that when trading Sale. Moncada's current value is tied entirely to his walks so I wonder what his value would be if he wasn't walking so much. Even if Moncada kept doing what he’s doing in 2021, (a ~.400 OBP and SLG) I'm not sure you'd pick up his option year. Kopech still has the potential to start but I do wonder if he's ever getting out of the bullpen at this point. He just doesn't have enough innings.
  9. Do we still give the foodies and Not Cishek credibility or no?
  10. If they get picked today, they're signing imo. In the last few years only 3-4 total players from the 10 round picks per season don't sign.
  11. They've done a damn good job of drafting post-Courtney Hawkins. Their International strategy is annoying, to say the least.
  12. I like that the Sox are valuing left handed batters here.
  13. I will say that a lot of the Sox draft strategy recently is putting a ton of pressure on their top 2-3 picks, especially that they're HS guys. They better be right or they're going to have to really hope that they grab some gems in round 11-20.
  14. I liked what they did last year, I like what they're doing this year. I wasn't as crazy about Kelley's profile in the 1st round last year but in the 2nd it was a good gamble. Given that they got two top talents at 22 and 57 that's good.
  15. Wow does that take them off the hook for the money?
  16. Started school late or moved in the middle of a school year probably. Some parents wait a year to start their kid in kindergarten and sometimes when a kid moves mid-year they struggle with the new curriculum and teachers.
  17. I just remembered Houston was the one without a 1st round pick for the sign stealing shit. Was wondering why there were only 29 1st round picks.
  18. Which team lost their 1st rounder to the Reds?
  19. I wonder if Pacheco gets to them in the 2nd? I've heard the Sox linked to him as well.
  20. I honestly thought he wouldn't get to 57. Too much upside. I wonder what the Sox do from here?
  21. Why? Is it the 19 year old HS kid thing? I don't mind them taking a chance with a kid like this in the bottom half of the 1st round. I'm usually an upside >>>>>guy.
  22. That could be why Pittsburgh picked Henry Davis.
