  1. There is some confusion whether that includes Lynn and Eaton or not.
  2. I really hope you guys are right..... BTW Not Cishek and the food accounts are saying that they really like their core and want to extend Giolito and others. Hinted that they might be willing to tear up Anderson's contract to keep him longer.
  3. You don't get disappointed if you have very low expectations.
  4. Are they going to keep him down for 42 games(or the equivalent in another shortened season) to get another year back?
  5. 15M was already spent, leaving 15M left....that's what's being reported.
  6. Yeah, and it would only be one of them, not both.....as both guys would cost 10-11M each on a 1 year deal.
  7. Confirmation bias I guess. Idk how they can afford Hendriks and not Brantley. That makes no sense.
  8. I didn't think so either, but Bernstein specifically said that they weren't interested in multi-year deals right now. That's contradictory to being interested in Hendriks. I also hope that people realize that in a normal year the Sox do not make the postseason in 2020.
  9. @Yearnin' for Yermin Ron, you have no idea what a real nazi mod is if you think ST mods are corrupt and power hungry. You must never have posted at WSI in the mid-2000s.
  10. I think they checked on the price and have backed off.
  11. It means that they're interested at their price, not necessarily anywhere near what the player is actually willing to sign for.
  12. Idk. I think that they might have been interested, like they were interested in Machado.
  13. After hearing that I'd be shocked if Hendriks signed here. I think they're going to go with internal options unless Colome falls into their lap on a 1 year deal. I wouldn't expect much more from the Sox this winter unless they can get some bargains on 1 year deals. Otherwise, what you see now is what you get.
  14. That would seem to mean no extensions as well. That sucks. I did hear that segment.
  15. That's my point, and that's what I think it would take to get a deal done. And I think that 85-90M is too close to full price to be in Jerry's comfort zone. I'd be shocked.
  16. I think he'd do it if the total value was in 9 figures. I don't think Jerry would. I think the org really believes in Kopech and Crochet.
  17. We were all surprised when Moncada and Robert signed. The difference between the two is that Robert and Moncada guaranteed themselves $75M+ in career earnings. In Moncada's case over $100M. Giolito, even with an extension, doesn't get that far. Logic says: if you already have money, why throw some away when you can get more?
  18. Also, with his performance so far as long as he stays healthy, he's going to make 40M over the next 3 years through arbitration which isn't exactly nothing.
  19. Giolito didn't start his MLB career with 25-30M in their pocket like Moncada and Robert. They're both already likely to have $100M in career earnings. Also Giolito already comes from a wealthy family so he can afford to bet on himself more than other players. I don't see him re-signing unless those 2 years of FA are worth $30M+ per year.
  20. There's a huge difference between reaching FA at 29 vs reaching FA at 31.
  21. Everyone wants to re-sign Giolito but given his age after an extension I just don't see it happening. The Sox would have to pay open market value to sign him and they don't do those types of things. We just have to accept he's gone after 2023 and hope that Kopech/Crochet develop into that ace to replace him.
  22. It would be hilarious if Quintana came back to the Sox and picked up where he left off before he got traded when he was matching Sale in everything except strikeouts. Cub fans would be livid and I'd love every minute of it.
