  1. Awful. He should have been fired before the rebuild.
  2. Yeah, I've rubbed a lot of people the wrong way because of my (admittedly so) strong pro-labor and anti-managment stances. Plus I think that all economics is voodoo economics and that conventional wisdom on the subject is bullshit. Despite what people might think, I think that capitalism is fine as long as businesses have a fucking conscience. Without a conscience, the system can't work as intended. It just cannibalizes itself and devolves into fascism. I think that democracy is more important than any economic system. There are other people who think that capitalism is more important than any governmental structure. The division in this country comes from people that think that their political beliefs have gone beyond opinion and into the realm of right vs wrong. I will always think that human rights are a right vs wrong issue but I will concede opinion on other topics.
  3. I don't want to hear the Sox linked to anyone big until the ink is dry. If they're in on the big guys, I want them to be the "Mystery Team" this winter.
  4. I think this offseason is going to go one of 2 ways: they're going to sign one of Cole/Strasburg and Grandal with piecemeal the remainder of the holes, Or they're going to bargain shop like the Twins did last year thinking it will work for them. A bargain winter: Keuchel, Wood for Rotation Dickerson/EE for DH Trade for Mazara or Polanco for RF
  5. I think if the Sox go bargain hunting this offseason they're going to alienate their fanbase, and there will be a lot of JR/Dollar Bill comparisons.
  6. I thought that he had 4 years. He doesn't, so strike that thought
  7. Only if the right deal comes along. I wouldn't be shopping him or anything, I just think that both he and Vaughn could be available as a headliner for the right player. Something like a Prospect/Prospect deal or as a headliner for a young established player with more upside/positional versatility.
  8. Actually now that I think about it, Leave Moncada alone and sign Moose for 2B if Madrigal is dealt.
  9. Or you sign Moustakas and play him at 2B
  10. No. You sign Moustakas and move Moncada back to 2B.
  11. Regardless of the injuries I'd rather take the gamble on Sale. The Sox did a pretty good job of keeping him healthy. He's still great when he's on the mound.
  12. I'm not against moving Vaughn and Madrigal. If you could make a deal for a long term piece with either as the centerpiece you do it.
  13. Not that I think they'd do it, but I'd do JDM, Sale and Benintendi for Madrigal+fringe prospects. I'd probably do Madrigal for Benintendi straight up.
  14. They still use COBOL? What's next, people still use FORTRAN?
  15. I'd always take the 2nd guy. You're probably going to miss more than you hit, but the hits will be HR.
  16. I was thinking data science, but I'm thinking into going into software development instead. I just want to get away from the UX/QA side and more into the code writing side.
  17. If they sign Castellanos, I hope to god it's for DH and not RF.
  18. I wouldn't be so sure. I'd give it about a 10- 15% chance that Abreu isn't back next year, even with the QO.
  19. I don't think he's going anywhere, but I do think he might overestimate his market and reject the QO, after which the Sox could possibly move on. It would leave Abreu in a bad position, but I don't think that it's outside of the realm of possibility.
  20. Martinez is exiting his peak years and Castellanos is entering his peak years. It's not that hard actually.
  21. I know. Me likey if this means Bye Bye Abreu Don't get me wrong I like Jose, but he's older and they need some LH bats in the lineup. You can't have 8 RH bats in a lineup
  22. Grandal is a need as long as pitch framing is a thing.
