Holy shit now he's breaking out the curveball. I have a pitching boner

Giolito is 24 so it makes more sense that this is a breakout for him. Odorizzi is 30. It makes less sense that this is the real Odorizzi.

Out of the rest of the group, he has the best chance.

Better now than in the heart of the window.

Granted, Springer and Altuve are out, but I really don't think it would matter with the nasty stuff Giolito has tonight.

2 sure. 3 is pushing it.

Absolutely. This year was much needed after the Machado disappointment. Imagine if the FO didn't outsmart themselves. Sigh.

Guys I was Giolito's biggest fan last year but even I didn't think he'd get this good this quickly. I thought next year if all went well. It looks like the Sox got best pitching prospect in baseball Giolito this year.

That was just disgusting from Gio there.

They get a lot of KC and Detroit coming up, don't they?

Sox @ Astros 5/23 Gamethread
That's unreasonable due to when he got injured.

Sox @ Astros 5/23 Gamethread
He was hurt last season so he doesn't count. Already wrote him off for 2019

The only thing that sucks about what the Sox have done so far is their inability to draft and develop their own talent. They nailed the hell out of the Sale, Eaton and Quintana deals.

Literally the only way that the rebuild could be going better this year at the MLB level is if Rodon stayed healthy and Lopez didn't get lit up in his first 3 starts.

Out of the Basabe/Rutherford/Gonzalez/Adolfo group, Basabe is on the verge of separating himself as the only legit prospect of the group

No, you're not. The Ump has two different zones.

Holy shit when was the last time you saw Giolito throw 2 fastballs at 97 mph for a strike?

Relationship Advice Thread
Ok so update: I've done the online dating thing, paid too much money to use it, and have had no response whatsoever. I'm wondering if there are some shared interest event things that are unaffiliated with a dating site that I could go to to meet women. I'm running out of ideas because most of the "old fashioned " ways of meeting people are too weird for me or it is too late in life for me to meet someone like that. Like if I went to a bar or something I'd have no idea what to talk about, mostly because I don't really work. (Idrive Uber occasionally)

Moncada
^^^^^ He's doing well, but he could be so much better if he had a good mix of approaches. His OBP is being neutered by his current approach. My worst fears are coming true with him. If he can learn to pick and choose which pitches to be aggressive on he'll be a superstar. If this is what he needs to do for this season, fine it's working. I hope in 2020 he backs off the free swinging and has a good mix. This could be one step in the evolution of great player. He's only 24.

Baez hasn't played like a star for several years now. He sucked until 2018. He has had one good year, and is carrying it over for a hot start in 2019. He has slightly more of a track record of success than Moncada. From 2015-2017 Baez was basically Tim Anderson in 2018 with a few more HR.

It doesn't really, I just don't know where to discuss it.

I'm not sure the Sox have anything on the farm after Cease and Robert. Madrigal and Collins have a shot, but are kinda meh.

Yes he did. Maybe Covey is injured.

Covey always looks sharp until the 3rd or 4th inning
