Some interesting results in Europe for WCQ today. Sweden lost 2-1 to Austria. Austria,Sweden and Ireland all came in tied for 2nd with 8pts but now Austria is second with 11pts, Ireland in 3rd with 11pts and Sweden sitting back with 8pts. Sweden has 1 game in hand and they get to play the Faroe Islands on the 11th. So it should be a 3-way tie going into the final 4 matches for the playoff spot. Croatia lost to Scotland at home and is now 3 points behind Belgium. Crucial lost but Croatia is well clear of third place Serbia but of course they'd rather avoid a playoff. Ukraine with a huge away win at Montenegro. Setting up a nice scramble with Montenegro,England and Ukraine for the top 2 spots.

I didnt see this thread when I made the post in the Catch All but the final innings of the FAU-UNC game was awesome.

This FAU-UNC Regional final on ESPNU is amazing! UNC led 6-2 in the 9th. It was 6-4 with 2 outs and FAU hit a grand slam to lead 8-6. UNC came back and score 2 in the 9th to force extra innings. FAU hits a 3 run HR in 12th to take a 11-8 lead. UNC then loads the bases with 0 outs. It gets to 11-10 with 1 out and UNC gets a single to left and the FAU LF throws out the winning run. In the 13th now. The new pitcher for UNC started yesterday and threw 90 pitches. Yikes..

I'm calling BS on the Golson/Daniels paper angle. These kids arent that stupid. Anyone who has given a paper to a friend to "look at" knows exactly whats going to happen. At this point you have the 4 best teams in the league battling it out. You could make valid points on any match up you'd prefer your team to have in the next round because there isnt a Cinderella team in the conference finals this year.

I love watching the media spin Crosby into being some tough guy at times. He confronts Rask after the second, jabs him and gives him a little push and when Chara comes over he runs his mouth from behind a ref. Punk move to cut off a goalie on his way to the locker room and confront him.

Apparently a South Florida principal has nudged his HC out after a 10-2 season(30-16 in 4 seasons) because their 4-star WR chose Miami over Florida St. The former HC is an ex-Miami player. The principal is a FSU alumnus. The new HC is Kez McCorvey, former FSU WR. Recruiting is such a dirty game.

Kelly Johnson has even gotten life back into his bat this year. We'll see for how long. If the offense doesnt fall back to what they were in the first few weeks,(asking them to keep this pace is asking too much) and if the bullpen figures itself out then the Rays are going to be mighty dangerous.
