  1. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Jul 10, 2013 -> 08:30 AM) And Holden. If he can fully recover we're going to have one heck of a midfield. midfielders and keepers have been a strength of the US for awhile now. Just gotta develop some backline guys and strikers. This team is really coming together at the right time. Should be a fun team to watch next summer, hopefully we catch a nice grouping.
  2. The only time the US is playing the first match of the day is Saturday when its a FOX telecast during the afternoon. Mexico is playing the second match for all three of their match days. It may be run by CONCACAF but this entire tournament is set to favor the US and Mexico.
  3. Panama might become the CONCACAF coach killer. 2011---2-1 win in group stages vs US 2013---2-1 win in group stages vs Mexico As bad as Mexico was, it still wasnt the worst showing yesterday. I cant believe how bad Canada is right now. They were lucky only to lose 1-0 to Martinique. I kinda would like to see Canada make a Hex but it will take a miracle for them to get there in 2017.
  4. MLB cant help themselves. I voted for Freeman and didnt even bother with an AL selection.
  5. QUOTE (Knuckles @ Jul 7, 2013 -> 02:28 AM) I'm sure, there was talk about the GSP vs. Silva superfight for a while now. well after Hendricks wrecks GSP, the fight can still be talked about.
  6. He got dominated on the ground and tried to sucker Weidman into his type of fight. Finally caught up to him. What a joke though. Lack of respect to mock Weidman like that. And now that he lost, he stole the moment. Rogan and Dana White can act like Fedor never existed but atleast he didnt disrespect the sport or the fans during his domination of the heavyweight division.
  7. This thread is why it was a great ending.
  8. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Jul 6, 2013 -> 12:13 PM) It was only a friendly and it was only Guatemala, but Stuart Holden showed some great signs last night. Made a few bad plays but had some phenomenal balls and plays. Going to be very interested how he fares in the next couple of weeks. If he can regain form, that is a major bonus for the USMNT. Also, Jozy is apparently going to Sunderland. Kind of split on the move. On the one hand, it's the EPL and he is almost assuredly going to play a ton as the main striker up top, on the other hand, I was kind of hoping for a more marquee club. We'll see how he fares. Hopefully Sunderland keep Sessegnon on board as he will provide good service for Jozy Actually that may have been a bad move for him. We've seen iit a few times where an American player goes to a bigger named club and just rides the pine. He'll turn 24 this season so there's plenty of time for him to climb up the ranks. I still look back and laugh at the American media, namely ESPN, going crazy when Oneywu signed with AC Milan. That was career suicide and while he's had injuries, he's never been able to recover from that horrible decision.
  9. Dwight is a douche but for some reason I'm thinking ESPN made something out of nothing tonight. Wouldnt be the first time they ran with a story that wasnt true. So it got leaked that Howard was going to Houston and when ESPN found out that Howard was going to LA for a meeting, they ran with a story that Howard was possibly waffling. Chris Broussard and his sources strike again!
  10. Iginla to the Bruins lol From this To this
  11. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jul 5, 2013 -> 03:17 PM) Did the Bruins just break up pretty much their whole Finals team? Horton didnt want to play in a big market. Seguin being moved might come back to haunt them in a couple of years but I dont see it hurting them next year. Plus really a cap casualty. Ference wasnt going to be brought back for what he was going to get. Especially with 3 young guys ready to take over. The rest of the core is still there. Just need to find someone to play with on the Lucic/Krejci line. It'll be funny if they end up with Iginla. I'm guessing Eriksson will be with Bergeron and Marchand. The more things change, the more they stay the same with the NHL. Some of these contracts are real head scratchers. It wasnt the greatest of FA classes but that doesnt mean you have to go crazy just to fill out your roster.
  12. Yeah it did. I guess player for player I'm not a fan of it. I think Seguin is a guy who can crack 40 goals a few times before its all said and done. But when you look at the cap its not really a bad deal. Got a player who will score 25-30 goals while making less and got rid of Peverley who is due 3.25M for each of the next 2 years. Now the B's have 9 million for free agency and another 4 million if they use the Savard inury exception. Plus they need to lock up Bergeron and Rask long term.
  13. Seguin to Dallas is heating up. Might happen today if you are to believe Twitter.
  14. FOX doesnt need Puig for the All-Star games because for the most part no one gives a crap about the ASG.
  15. this thread has a creepy feel to it for some reason
  16. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jul 2, 2013 -> 02:46 PM) Vincent Lecavalier wants 5 years @ $25 million. ie - gtfo hello Toronto... edit---well maybe not. Darren Dreger is saying Philly is Vinny's choice. edit 2---wow, that was fast. Dreger confirms Vinny to Philly for 5yr/4.5 per
  17. Some orange cones would have put a better effort out there tonight. Brazil came to play, Spain acted as if the game was an inconvenience.
  18. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Jun 30, 2013 -> 04:08 PM) Cory Schneider traded by Vancouver for 9th pick to the Devils. Undersold him. Should've got more. they had no leverage. Everyone knew the situation Vancouver was in.
  19. The Tigers might be really good if they had a decent manager.
  20. Schneider on the block? I guess Vancouver is finally realizing they cant move Luongo's contract.
  21. Roy Hobbs hits another bomb for the Rays
  22. Pretty cool that the Patriots are allowing people to trade in their Hernandez jersey's for another players jersey on July 6th and 7th.
  23. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jun 28, 2013 -> 04:03 PM) (edit) Its only the people who want to defend Zimmerman who generally want to make it a race issue. I already know that if it was a white suburban kid who had a backpack full of AP books how half of these peoples opinions would dramatically change. Hyporcites for the win. Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson says hi...
  24. QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Jun 28, 2013 -> 03:46 PM) Its gonna get really ugly if Zimmerman walks scot free, especially considering the jury racial make up. it'll be ugly because of the media. The media has been very irresponsible in this case when it comes to flaming this fire. I drove by the courthouse this afternoon around noon. There were a decent amount of tents and media trucks out there but was a little surprised to see that it was nowhere near the amount of tents/trucks for the Casey Anthony trial.
  25. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 28, 2013 -> 03:34 PM) The only witness to that is dead. Well then we can think that Martin had every intention on smashing Zimmerman's skull into the ground in attempt to kill him. Since he's not here to dispute that then who is to say it wasnt the case? It can go both ways.
