  1. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Aug 21, 2013 -> 10:25 PM) Yeah thats why I posted here because I figured youd have much better information than random internet posters. I dont think there is any info out there now. I mean its been three years since the investigation started and a couple of months since the hearing. At first it was suppose to be late July, then mid August, now people saying Friday or Monday. Someone will guess right sooner or later. It'll be real funny if Manziel gets cleared before the Miami situation is addressed. But I cant imagine the NCAA really letting this continue past the opening weekend.
  2. Miami has been keeping most of their practices closed this fall. Then they decided to break from training camp a day early before prepping for Florida Atlantic next week. Of course breaking a day earlier created another set of message board/twitter speculation. This looks like people just reading too much into something.
  3. Yeah, where? I'm part of a select Miami board with some people in the know and the only talk is how Miami may finally hear from the NCAA in the next couple of days. 2 bowl bans and sitting out the ACC title game has already been lost. Anything more than scholarships losses is entering Penn St territory.
  4. beat everyone to it? No one cares really anymore. I'm the second person other than you to post in this thread in a week.
  5. QUOTE (Joxer_Daly @ Aug 20, 2013 -> 04:41 PM) Appalling result for Celtic in Kazakhstan in the Champions League play-off tonight. 2-0 loss, leaving us with a big mountain to climb for the return leg next week. Lacklustre performance, poor tactics, and no change directed from the touchline. It's going to be a long eight days. I lost money on Celtic today. I hope nothing but the worst for them this season haha
  6. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 19, 2013 -> 08:39 PM) I have heard that said about pitchers before. The one that comes to mind was Jeff Weaver when he was with Detroit. None of his teammates liked him, so no one backed him up after a similar beanball incident. Weaver was a beanball machine. I'm sure his teammates got tired of getting drilled because Weaver was drilling opponents.
  7. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 19, 2013 -> 11:10 AM) Missed in all of the Dempster/Arod stuff... Dave Gallagher ‏@DaveGallagher22 2h That is a first in my mind. Yankee pitchers not retaliating an obvious intentional HBP by Dempster speaks volumes. Sounds like Gallagher trying to make a story out of thin air. Yankees are trying to get in the playoffs. It will happen, just not the time last night.
  8. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 18, 2013 -> 09:34 PM) The rest of the report from Olney says Braun was calling other players in 2012 asking for their support and saying he had evidence that the collector was an anti Semite. would be very damning if true. Unless a few other players come out and say that happened, he'll just claim it didnt. (which he already has)
  9. I think it was s***ty all away around. 1. Dempster should never had the chance to hit A-Rod after the first pitch. Everyone knows the situation so a warning should have been sent after the first ball behind him. But to take 4 pitches to hit him is pretty weak. 2. And another case of horrible umpiring. Girardi was 100% correct in his argument. Still amazing how bad some umpires handle these situations. 3. Love the hypocrisy of these veterans talking s***. Some probably did PEDs and others werent saying a thing when they knew teammates were doing so. And for Red Sox fans to be railing A-Rod is funny when half that 2004 team was probably juiced to the gills.
  10. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 17, 2013 -> 02:28 PM) For BioGenesis? third fail test for amphetamines. Visit My Website
  11. Miguel Tejada suspended for 105 games.
  12. If the Pats keep Tebow then its gotta charity. 1-7 -1 yards 1INT should have been two INTs.
  13. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 16, 2013 -> 04:25 PM) Now this is a twitter b****slapping. http://deadspin.com/man-trolls-paul-bisson...dium=socialflow b**** slapping is a very mild way of putting it.
  14. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Aug 15, 2013 -> 03:29 PM) http://www.chicagotribune.com/entertainmen...0,5806819.story Lisa Robin Kelly, actress, 43. who didnt see that coming.
  15. QUOTE (Brian @ Aug 14, 2013 -> 07:37 PM) Isn't Mallett QB2? yeah but he isnt as fun to talk about.
  16. ugh, I took the US to win at +311. At halftime i took the draw at +1250. I came out ahead but was hoping it stayed 2-2.
  17. Brady day to day with mild knee sprain. In other words, his preseason is done.
  18. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Aug 14, 2013 -> 05:47 PM) fyi for everyone, this refers to a couple of rodeo clowns at the state fair in Missouri dressing in black face and mocking stereotypical big lips on a black person. wearing a mask is now considered black face? the teeth may be a little exaggerated, like on most masks showing someone smiling, but the pic from that link doesnt appear to have the stereotypical big lips. Nice slant by you though.
  19. most shocking in all this was that Angel Hernandez was the third base umpire and actually knew what was going on.

I hooked up my SNES the other day. Forgot how good the Expos were in Ken Griffey Baseball.
  21. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Aug 10, 2013 -> 10:30 AM) He also ignited the comeback from down 6-1 in the 8th inning with an RBI ground rule double (would have been a triple), 2 for 4 again.....almost 30 multi-hit games already. Still hitting almost .380 FWIW, he's not a CFer. First and foremost, he plays RF, then LF, CF is his weakest position from what I've seen. lol, igniting a comeback? youre really stretching it. He made it 6-2. The guy behind him had a bigger impact since his two out hit scoring Puig made it 6-3. 3-4 of the runs by the Rays were off of horrible plays by Puig. Twice he misjudge routine fly balls and twice he airmailed the cut off man trying to throw runners out at the plate. Both times the runners were safe by a mile and both times the hitter just rounded first base and cruised into second. And then eventually scored. I know youre a Puig fanboy but lets be objective here.
  22. After watching Puig make 4 defensive mistakes in the first 3 innings tonight while playing CF, I think its safe to say Trout is the correct answer.
  23. safe to say the Jaguars have the worst uniforms in the league. barf
  24. Archer leaves game after 1.2 innings b/c of tightness of forearm. Not thought to be serious. And now Wil Myers being lifted because of an apparent injury. Ugh
