  1. QUOTE (danman31 @ Jul 24, 2013 -> 10:08 PM) That Holden elbow was not intentional, it wasn't anywhere near a red. I'm not sure you can even give it a yellow because the defender was in the better position and did so without fouling. There have been cards given on elbows to the head/face all the time when it wasnt intentional on 50/50 balls. The more I watch the replay, the more I'm convinced the elbow was intentional. Maybe the Honduras player didnt mean to get the elbow in the facial area but he's responsible for his actions. He is clearly moving his elbow/forearm backwards. https://vine.co/v/hK9zWadJana

  3. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Jul 24, 2013 -> 07:55 PM) It's not really fair for the US to use Donovan in this tournament. Would have been much more interesting if the US tried to win without him. He has to play his way back to the national team. It was good for him to play. And what a f***ing joke the ref was tonight. Typical CONCACAF BS. Honduras just hacked away at us all night and the ref sat there with his whistle up his ass. Clear PK against Holden that should have been a red and nothing. Forearm to the GK head and nothing. But Jurgen argues a call and gets a red. The EJ gets a yellow for nothing.
  4. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jul 21, 2013 -> 11:09 PM) I think they answered your question today. That James Shields trade is gonna bite them in the ass. and haunt them for years to come.
  5. A lot of American born Salvadorans picked the wrong team to root for tonight. Always fun winning "road" matches on US soil.
  6. QUOTE (QuickJones81 @ Jul 17, 2013 -> 11:07 AM) I am at work so I can't watch the video, but there are 4 things that stand out in my mind from my memory of that fight: 1. We learned Magglio was a kicker. Strangely enough that's something that tells you a lot about a person. Especially considering this was before MMA became popular. 2. Foulke after that fight looking like he got stomped in the face. 3. Fick receiving the beer shower. If I remember correctly he was flipping the fans the bird as it was happening. 4. Frank Robinson using this fight to show that he was the new sheriff in town and handing out crazy suspensions. Ain't this the truth. You learn a lot about people in situations like this. Kicking and blindside/cheap shots are puss moves. and lol@ the announcer acting surprised that the fans would be cheering during this.
  7. NCAA football players can get up to 17k a year. link
  8. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jul 17, 2013 -> 09:35 PM) That's cause you live in Florida and it's always warm. In July I want to leave the house and do stuff, because in February it's goddamn cold. I guess I can watch at an outdoor beer garden in the summer though. WC is always fun in Orlando. So many tourists with rooting interests and its fun to find the bars catering towards one particular country. Lots of English bars.
  9. I thought the second half was starting up tomorrow night. long week for sports fans..
  10. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jul 17, 2013 -> 05:37 PM) As an American, I think it would be awesome if it was played in February. It's cold outside here, down time in American sports, and I don't have a major rooting interest in European leagues. But FIFA can go f*** themselves, they know what they were getting into when they accepted Qatar's bribes bid. July is really the perfect month as an American sports fan. Only MLB is going on and in July it can get a little boring at times. 2022 is a Winter Olympic year so a February WC might not be feasible.
  11. Blatter can get f***ed as far as I'm concerned. Qatar should never have won the rights to 2022.
  12. So the only entertaining part of this game was the kid who said if he got 1000 RTs on Twitter he'd run out onto the field. Atleast he's a man of his word.
  13. An awesome pass by Landon and Shea almost f***ed it up. I'm going to assume he was thinking too much going into that strike. Anyone see Cuba beat Belize today? Needed to win by 4 and scored a goal to go up 4-0 in the closing minutes only to see a bogus offsides call. Luckily they were able to get the 4th goal in the 93rd to send them into the quarters.
  14. that's amazing to get 4 foul balls. I'm assuming he wasnt in the first row down on of the lines? Back in 93 I went to a Phillies-Marlins game and I saw a guy in the next section catch 2 foul balls. I was sitting about 20 rows behind home plate and he was about 30 rows in the section going towards 1st. And this was the expansion year for the Marlins when they were selling out the lower bowl. I thought that was something. Guess not haha
  15. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Jul 14, 2013 -> 03:19 PM) Quite a few things wrong with this. 1.) Again, it wasn't stalking. 2.) Being told not to do it has no bearing on the case. 3.) You have no idea who initiated the physical contact. 4.) They never even brought up the SYG defense. I think its pretty he didnt follow this case. Just got the bullet points from whatever news agency he followed 16 months ago.
  16. QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Jul 14, 2013 -> 02:04 AM) Question for Jenks and any other lawyers... What would be the adv for GZ being found innocent versus not guilty? theres no innocent verdict in the court of law.
  17. Brek Shea is starting to venture into the category that I have Kljestan in. Just a horrible performance. I cant see him being needed in Brazil next summer. Still time for the 18 cycle.
  18. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jul 13, 2013 -> 10:48 PM) I knew he would be found innocent. The prosecution put a poor case together. But still, go get f***ed. Wasnt found innocent remember, just not guilty. Interesting to see if some of the media turns on the Prosecutors for failing to get a guilty verdict in a case that had no facts to justify a guilty verdict.
  19. QUOTE (mr_genius @ Jul 12, 2013 -> 10:07 PM) i noticed that and wonder how much do they feed prisoners in Florida. what the hell, is he eating ice cream and donuts all day in jail? he's not in jail...
  20. He wasnt sparring in these workouts so its not surprising that if he was couldnt get a guy off of him who was dropping punches on him. There have been world class grapplers who couldnt make the transition over to MMA because once they started getting hit repeatedly, there were nowhere near effective. So to say that Zimmerman should be able to get someone off of him just because he went to some classes isnt a strong argument.
  21. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Jul 12, 2013 -> 10:10 PM) Not 20+ times while also having his mouth and nose held close and also having the same person reaching for his gun. Zimmerman has lied repeatedly. Funny you call him a liar but the police call it minor inconsistencies that is commom in police reports. Actually said if he was always giving the same exact story then it would be a red flag for lying. Guess its easy to call him a liar when you've had your mind made up from the moment NBC,MSNBC,CNN etc started reporting this story.
  22. QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Jul 12, 2013 -> 03:07 PM) That to me is the most WTF thing about all this...Zim is so b****made he can't get a teen who weighs less than him, off of him without killing him? Really? This is a guy who wanted to be a cop and took MAA lessons and he's now the weakest man alive...please. You obviously have no clue on what youre talking about here. It isnt that easy to get someone off of you from that position if youre getting punched in the face when you have no idea how to defend yourself. And he wasnt taking MMA lessons. He was doing basically cardio workouts at a MMA gym. The gym owner even said he didnt do anything more than punch a heavy bag. He didnt do any MMA type workouts/grappling.
  23. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jul 12, 2013 -> 01:16 PM) Right, so Martin should have thought twice about ambushing a guy. He might have a gun. And he might shoot you if you start bashing his head into a curb. Havent you learned yet that only Zimmerman is responsible for his actions. God forbid anyone holds Trayvon responsible for his...
  24. How is he suppose to know not to step on the logo? Why wasnt it roped off? I love a good story ripping that guy as much as the next but this is a little too much. Its not like he was kissing it or hoisting it. This story is getting as much news in the sports world as when the media was reporting him texting and writing Belieber in at the Anne Frank Museum.
  25. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 10, 2013 -> 12:15 AM) Don't like Fox's coverage near as much as ESPN's. I am digging these results though. I like JP. Maybe its because I'm use to him and associate him with US soccer. Cobi Jones is a f***ing trainwreck. For a guy as accomplished as he is, you'd think he'd atleast sound like he's got a clue. Going to suck when ESPN loses the WC rights in 2018.
