  1. Welp, after flirting with it a few times, I finally put up a 200 point game.. Then in the Heroes league, I once again stupidly forgot to make a move....Tolzein was my starter...and I'm still gonna win. This kinda makes up for real life.
  2. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Dec 1, 2013 -> 04:06 PM) I REALLY hope Josh Gordon comes back. He's sitting at 149 yards and my league awards a 5 point bonus at 150. I'm playing the guy with Cam so I really need it! Any kind of bonus for 250??
  3. Anyone know what the All time yardage record is for a WR duo? Marshall and Jeffery have ~1980 with 4 weeks and a quarter and 1/2 to go.
  4. I'm still hoping for a Deng for Ben Gordon and a pick swap. Walker/Sessions-Henderson/Taylor-Deng/MKG-Jefferson/McRoberts-Biyombo/Zeller isn't that bad a squad IMO. Probably puts them in the 10-15 range. Would be real nice to get the Bobcats pick we've been waiting on, then the Detroit pick from the Bobcats, and the Bulls pick. Then package 2 of em to move up. C'mon MJ make it happen.
  5. FWIW, Cespedes had an .861 OPS his first year here, at the same age, and Abreu is supposed to be the better of the 2 players. Puig, who I'll give you the fact that he had time to "adjust" in the minors, had a .925 OPS. Anything short of an .850 OPS will be a disappointment.
  6. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Nov 29, 2013 -> 10:10 PM) First time I watch Smackdown in forever and I get a full hour of the Shield and Cody-Goldy. Amazing. Easily the best match I've seen on smackdown in as long as I can remember. Kinda funny because before that match I was gonna comment on how awful the show was.
  7. QUOTE (StRoostifer @ Nov 29, 2013 -> 06:57 PM) The Sox don't have a catcher to replace AJ's production, Avi's too inexperienced to count on replacing Rios' numbers just yet, same can be said about Abreu replacing Paulie's numbers and despite Alexei's base stealing going up his power has been on a steady decline and we have no idea what to expect from Dunn. We also have no idea what to expect from a possibile healthy full season of Viciedo or Beckham, and not sure what to expext from Gillespie for that matter. I wasn't avoiding DA's point at all as I was ignoring it because there wasn't a realistic point to be made in the first place. Too many unknowns and Granderson won't be able to solve all that! He is just one potential plug on a team with many holes. By my, perhaps twisted, logic they don't have to replicate what those guys did run for run. The Sox lost 52 of their 99 games by 2 runs or less. To me, and perhaps only to me, that means they're not as far away as some might think. Once again, perhaps only in my world, I think if you improve 3 positions, Abreu already being one, Granderson being another, and a trade could bring another. I see both arguments and believe they're both valid, Hahn can go either way.
  8. You guys are avoiding DAs point about this team being just 1 year removed from being 4th in the AL in runs scored. I think it's completely plausible to think they can return to that esp. if Abreu hits like we're all hoping. I'm all for Granderson. He walks at a pretty good rate and he won't clog the base paths. Batting him 3rd ahead of Abreu-Dunn-Garcia would be quite the sexy middle of the lineup. If they can then trade Santiago for yet another piece then the offense should be more than good enough to get the Sox back in contention.
  9. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Nov 29, 2013 -> 10:48 AM) Soft nfl for stopping a play when someone's helmet comes off so someone doesn't die on the field from a helmet to skull hit? It's unlucky from a fantasy perspective, but to b**** about being soft due to that rule is ridiculous. Like someone said in the NFL thread, I just think if you're already in the process of going to the ground(and only in this scenario) when it happens a player should get the benefit of the doubt of where his forward momentum pushed him. Fantasy football aside I just think it sucks that a guy gets enough for a TD, or in another circumstance, enough for an important first down gets that taken away from him over something he has no control over. Perhaps I'm overreacting and under thinking it.
  10. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Nov 29, 2013 -> 01:26 AM) f***ing awful. I feel it too. Was well on his way to a bigger night than he had. I need him for the playoffs. If he's concussed long term, I have to rely on guys like Decker, Reed or Kendall Wright as my flex. I had to play against Bush and I started Stafford. The big one who killed me is Eddie Lacy's horrible night thanks to Matt f***ing Flynn making it easy for Detroit to stack the box. (although I could care less that the Packers loss) I'm playing against another guy who is 10-2 (had Bush, Bryant and Romo playing tonight, has AP, Moreno, Garcon, etc. playing Sunday) so it's gonna be a good matchup (I have Shady, Andre, Cruz, etc. to go, but so far he has the advantage.. especially with AP going against the sorry ass Bears defense) Really hope he's alright, both for my fantasy team and just in general, but luckily I've been hoarding RBs and would still be able to ride out McCoy, Bush, Stacy(hopefully), and Johnson.
  11. Got my "f*** the soft nfl rules" post queued up if I lose by the 6 points Le'veon Bell should have got on that brutal play. Hope he's alright. Should be alright though after getting 79 points out of my killer B's Bell, Bush, and Big Ben.
  12. Ratliff is expected to play Sunday, no word on Paea. Would be nice if the both return and play well. Getting the both of them back means they can shift Wootton back out to DE which SHOULD really help the run defense.
  13. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Nov 28, 2013 -> 06:21 AM) They tossing in a pick? Otherwise, no. The question I have with that is, will whatever draft pick you get get you someone better than Waiters?
  14. Would you guys do Waiters, Earl Clark, and Tyler Zeller for Deng? It's over 9M so it would work. Clark's contract next year is non guaranteed next year, then you have a potential starting 2 guard and a backup C for the next 4 years.
  15. Can't imagine him being any better than what we've already got...Pass.
  16. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 27, 2013 -> 06:25 PM) Unless the Cavs are under the cap, it doesn't work. Is it the luxury tax that they have to be under after the deal for it to work? If so something like Waiters and Zeller would work.
  17. QUOTE (Boogua @ Nov 25, 2013 -> 11:38 AM) He has the worst score of any safety in football. He has been thrown at 23 times and has given up 19 receptions. QBs have a rating of 140.2 when they throw at him and average 19.7 yards per completion. He has the second most missed tackles at 13. He's terrible. Ha, that's what i get for looking at tackles as a measuring stick.
  18. Awesome. Even if he's brought in to be a Santino type comedy relief guy he's just so much fun to watch. Anyone listen to his podcast? It's good stuff. For those who don't listen, here's a hilarious little taste of it. No, it's not always animated, but all the animated videos are fantastic, check em all out.
  19. QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Nov 25, 2013 -> 01:18 AM) You forgot the good major, did not hear his name once. That major is Major Wright. He and Conte are god awful as is Bush. The rest of the defense is doing what they can but those asswipes were being counted and they both suck. He surprising leads the team in tackles for the season, 5th most amongst safeties. Certainly not saying he's the 5th best safety in the league but he hasn't been THAT bad. I think you give him another year, but FS for sure has to be upgraded. If I'm the Bears, depending on whether they bring back Melton/Collins, I'm taking the best secondary player available in the first. If that's a CB then I'm moving Tillman to FS. Jake, or any other PFF subscriber, I'm curious what they have to say about Major?
  20. Need 11.5 out of Pierre Garcon in my tough luck league....I'm sure he'll get 10.6 or something ridiculous like that.
  21. Cubano!(not sure if he's been hanging around)... What's the word on Dayron Varona? Is he a center fielder? His numbers in Cuba, .373/.425/.533, look really sexy, and he's just 25. Right handed though so that's a bit of a "downfall" when looking at the Sox team as a whole, particularly when you talk about him replacing ADA.
  22. Somehow forgot the PPV was today, stumbled in for the last 2 matches. The tag match was great, and the main event was garbage, as expected. I do like the potential title unification though. Anything noteworthy happen before those 2 matches?
  23. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Nov 24, 2013 -> 09:14 PM) It would have to be like the Freddie Garcia deal, where they felt 90% sure at the time of the trade they could get the extension signed...or the trade was predicated on a two week window in which the White Sox would try to negotiate an extension or the trade wouldn't be approved, since the White Sox would only be renting Headley for one "non competitive" season. Well ya, I agree. It's obviously predicated on whether they can extend him. I agree that any other thought process makes "ZERO" sense. I don't agree with the final sentence though. I think even if Headley gives us something in between his 2012 and 2013 stats, lets say .265/.355/.450 20/80, and Abreu is who we hope he is that team certainly can be competitive.
  24. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Nov 24, 2013 -> 08:00 PM) They will keep saying that but their actions say something else. Their actions so far say "we have a team that can win if literally everything goes right". They let the guy pass already who would have filled their biggest remaining hole at a contract that doesn't seem extremely unreasonable if they wanted to compete this year (McCann). They aren't "passing" on it but they're not "all in". I think it's quite possible that they didn't want to give up the draft pick. Hahn has said that the players that will be brought in are more than likely gonna be through trade...In which case why not Headley? Isn't it already pretty much a given that they'll be trading a SP for a bat? You bring him in this year and you can work on an extension, whereas next year, if you don't trade for him he could either be A. Traded by another team and extended there. B. Resigned or C.
