  1. Interesting to note Dickey threw a 1 hit shut out vs TB and the Orioles last year...The Yankees on the other hand roughed him up. Blue Jays could be pretty scary if R.A. doesn't revert back to his AL numbers pre 2010.
  2. QUOTE (Jake @ Dec 15, 2012 -> 11:12 PM) He's not perfect, but he's been doing pretty well. Too bad we'll probably lose him after this season. I like that he doesn't need to dominate the ball the entire game just to get his points in. I wouldn't be so sure he's gone. I hope the plan with the 1 year contract he got was to go over the cap to sign their own guy. I hope they really don't plan on starting Kirk at the 2 next year.
  3. How bout this Marco Bellineli guy..I was laughed at when I said he was a starting caliber player or something along those lines.....But I also was also on Kirks nuts, 1 for 2 ain't bad.
  4. I've signed up twice now and they never sent me a confirmation code yet. EDIT- I guess I don't need one, getting in right meow.
  5. Can anyone confirm or deny whether the PA announcer is the same guy the Sox use? I swear it's him.
  6. The PA annoucer sounds like the Sox PA annoucer....C'mon Butler close this out! Boost up UI's SOS.
  7. I too was in an OOTP league back in high school...With all the free time I have, I'm in. Twins (Cards)
  8. But then again if he truly does have aspengers and it could result in violent behavior then there should not have been guns accessible in the house
  9. QUOTE (EvilJester99 @ Dec 15, 2012 -> 01:29 AM) To me this shouldn't even be about gun rights or even God... this more speaks to the care of the mentally ill. This kid was messed up and if they would have given him the care he needed this may have been averted. However, I know everyone has their agenda when these things happen. This. The way wite described aspergers makes it sound plausible that his mother wasn't showing him the attention he needed and he irrationally and violently took it out on his mother and the kids who were getting his mothers attention. I believe someone else came to this conclusion as well and it makes some sense.
  10. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Dec 14, 2012 -> 09:37 PM) Got a 40 dollar Best Buy gift card today and am trying to stay out of trouble this weekend so I decided to pick up some wrestling dvds(how cool am I?). I've wanted to see the Punk and NWO ones for a while so I grabbed those. The Punk one is really good, definitely excited to check out the NWO one tomorrow. Really cool. Like I said when it came out that Punk DVD is one of the best things I've seen the WWE put out in quite some time.
  11. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Dec 14, 2012 -> 06:40 PM) Yeah, I'm guessing the said "Hey, my mom so-and-so works here" and they let him in. But I'm wondering how he got the guns in without anyone noticing. I heard he had 4 guns. Did he bring a giant dufflebag in? And how terrible that office aid or security guard must feel buzzing him through. From what I've read he was no stranger to the school, meaning they already knew him?
  12. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Dec 14, 2012 -> 05:33 PM) Rumor is JP Arencibia and Anthony Gose, which I would not consider better than Olt. Also rumored is D'Arnaud may be involved with Gose, in which case I'd probably take that package. But either way, the Olt for Dickey rumor came out about a week ago. With Wright and Davis (Olt might be an upgrade) on the corners I'd rather have JP and Gose or D'Arnaud and Gose if I was the Mets GM.
  13. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 14, 2012 -> 05:19 PM) Could be that Toronto has an even better offer on the table. Or Olt could have never been offered. D'Arnaud perhaps?
  14. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 14, 2012 -> 05:00 PM) I can't find anywhere that clearly states it would result in a banning if he were to fail another drug test. Just skimmed through my Hamilton book and found this... After he was checked into a hospital for gastroenteritis. "I knew what everyone was thinking: Uh-oh, did Josh relapse? It was normal to wonder, especially for those people who didn't know I drug-tested three times a week, home and away, and would be tossed out of baseball the second a test turned up dirty." Now I could be taking that the wrong way and "Tossed out of baseball" could just mean a suspension but I take it as he'll be out for good.
  15. QUOTE (SoxFan562004 @ Dec 14, 2012 -> 04:24 PM) the union won't just let them dump a standard contract. I imagine he would have chances to go to rehab, etc., it could be relapse recover relapse recovery relapse recovery, and on and on, never enough to drive him out of the league but enough that he hangs around. I'm pretty sure Hamilton's on his last legs in the league as far as drug use goes. If he fails one of his bi weekly drug tests he's out of the league and the Angels won't be on the books for his salary.
  16. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 14, 2012 -> 01:41 PM) Jon Heyman ‏@JonHeymanCBS Think this has been mentioned, but there is NO language in hamilton's #angels contract related to his past issues. And there shouldn't be. Like I've said if he relapses into DRUGS then all that will happen is the Angels will be SOL for that year. They'll get their money back because Josh will be gone from the league. LAA is gonna be scary offensively. 3 legit MVP candidates, Morales should be healthier this coming up season and has the potential to put up MVP numbers, and Trumbo has dirty pop. If they add another pitcher they should be the favorites.
  17. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Dec 13, 2012 -> 06:49 PM) Law Firm Clark Manning. Play it safe. Even if RG was healthy it'd be a toss up, if he plays you know he's not 100% and likely can't pick up as much on the ground. Minimize the risk. Ole!
  18. Law Firm vs Philly or Stephen Jackson vs Minny? Dallas Clark vs NO or Benjamin Watson vs Skins? (Oh how I wish Gronk was back) Oh and for my other league P. Manning or RGIII?
  19. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 12, 2012 -> 09:24 PM) I would like Santiago starting as much as anyone, but he's the 4th lefty in the rotation and there are 2-3 other people in the minors who can be the 6th starter (assuming Floyd isn't gone). We actually kinda have too many MLB lhp's right now. I wouldn't mind selling high on Q for this reason. I think Hector has a higher ceiling than Q does and I'd hate to see him wasted in the pen.
  20. Maybe Gonzalez was looking at it backwards and its Kyle Seagar they're really looking at. lol
  21. QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Dec 11, 2012 -> 12:15 AM) f*** yeah. On to round 2. Riding a 5 game winning streak that brought me from last place to the semi-finals. I'm in the same boat...Running into ADP in the semis though...Unless Gronk comes back I don't like my chances. Fun ride though.
  22. QUOTE (bucket-of-suck @ Dec 10, 2012 -> 10:03 PM) FWIW...Talks progressing for a guy that's been on the short wishlist lately. Conflicting make up concerns but when healthy, dude can slug and plays the game KW "tough". Deal has a good chance as of yesterday. Some risk but could be an impact move. Corresponding move(s) likely required which is the hold up. QUOTE (Jake @ Dec 10, 2012 -> 11:20 PM) Why are we so insistent on speculating about OF'ers? I have to think that that is the last place we're looking -- unless we have a corresponding deal for a current OF'er for a position of greater need. If there's any truth behind what bucket said then an OFer makes sense.
  23. So with Shields off the market are there any SPs better than Floyd who are openly available via trade??
  24. QUOTE (flavum @ Dec 10, 2012 -> 12:31 PM) So who is they mystery "lefty impact bat" that the Sox want to add? Cano? Mauer? Josh Hamilton of course
