  1. Another interesting name...Josh Bell...He's done nothing in the majors when he's been called up over the past few years but put up his best numbers in AAA last year .311/.372/.881. He's still only 26 and could still have some major league potential. I'm not calling for him to be the guy starting at 3B but it'd be nice to have him in AAA if he can soon translate his MiLB numbers to the bigs. And he's a local kid so maybe some home cooking will help him out.
  2. QUOTE (Lillian @ Nov 22, 2012 -> 08:34 AM) Following up on a point I made in my last post, it's fun to speculate about which players might become available from the respective candidates to sign Hamilton. Almost any team with that kind of money, and chance to win, is going to have talent that may have to be jettisoned, in order to make room for Hamilton and his salary. This article gives the Vegas odds makers' choices for likely teams: http://www.cbssports.com/mlb/blog/eye-on-b...ltons-next-team Here is the list: San Francisco Giants 3-1 Atlanta Braves 5-1 Texas Rangers 5-1 Philadelphia Phillies 7-1 New York Yankees 9-1 Chicago Cubs 9-1 Boston Red Sox 9-1 Pittsburgh Pirates 10-1 Toronto Blue Jays 10-1 Los Angeles Dodgers 15-1 Which left handed bats do you think might become available, from the respective teams on that list, if Hamilton should sign there? Off the top of my head, looking at those teams, Curtis Granderson is the only impact LH bat on those teams that could be traded. He's another boom or bust player who might not be the best add but would certainly add more production to the lineup.
  3. Uhh didnt even know he was available nut yes please
  4. Is he pitching anywhere in the offseason? I was reminded of him because a friend of mine posted about wanting to gain 35 pounds to "get his pitch back"...He's trying out for some independent league teams.
  5. I hope all Rollins, Ambose, and Reigns come out in that same shirt.
  6. QUOTE (chw42 @ Nov 19, 2012 -> 11:39 PM) I thought Davis was out of the game, but he was actually useful on that drive. Wasn't Spaeth brought in to be a pass blocker?...That like never happened.
  7. Would ya put Spaeth, Davis, Bush or even Evan Rodriguez out there to help on Smith for cryin out loud. Oh hey, a TD
  8. QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Nov 19, 2012 -> 11:27 PM) I thought the 49ers O line was supposed to be terrible, they look like the 90s Cowboys out these, their QB has a ton of time to throw. Damn, the 49ers just clowning the Bears at this point...f*** this. QUOTE (Jake @ Nov 19, 2012 -> 10:52 PM) You see what SF does? Fullbacks, tight ends ooo ahhh Something I've said the Bears should do for the last 2 years.
  9. QUOTE (2nd_city_saint787 @ Nov 19, 2012 -> 05:07 PM) Ugh both opponents in my money league and my talkbears league have the bears D and in both leagues I have less than a 10 point lead.....I can't root against my bears!! Well at least my fantasy teams might win...

  11. QUOTE (2nd_city_saint787 @ Oct 22, 2012 -> 11:04 AM) Since Monday is a wrestling day I'll post another video. This video showcases the NXT champ Seth Rollins, or Tyler Black as he went by when I used to watch him on the Indys. All this footage is from his matches in the IWA, I was at every match. really well put together video, I love the beginning where they pull all these quotes from message boards. I haven't seen any of his work in NXT but he apparently still does the hardcore dancing. I'm excited to see what they do with him. My fantasy is he gets called up as a Heyman guy along with Hero(Ohno) and Moxley(Ambrose) and there's a survivor series match with those 3, Punk and Lesnar vs. a Team Cena or Team WWE...but thats a pipe dream. I was so close.
  12. QUOTE (Brian @ Nov 19, 2012 -> 05:57 AM) Saint, you must be somewhat satisfied with those debuts. Or somewhat POd at myself...Totally forgot yesterday was SS (Its been a rough weekend with someone breaking in my house and other BS). First PPV I missed in 2 years and OF COURSE those 2 finally debut. Didn't even realize it till my brother posted something on my cousins facebook about it...UGH Ive been waiting awhile for Rollins to debut and the one day I fail to watch it he comes out. What a s*** weekend. But somewhat satisfied is right, I would be fully satisfied had I seen it. Also would have liked Ohno over Reigns but thats just because Ive never seen Reigns wrestle live like I have Ohno.
  13. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Nov 18, 2012 -> 01:40 PM) Got a link to the article? I can't find it on their site. http://insider.espn.go.com/mlb/features/rumors/_/type/2/id/4 Can't link it directly but its the 3rd(last) one on there
  14. Just noticed the Sox were tagged in an espn insider article on Justin Upton. Where are my insiders to tell the masses what was said?
  15. QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Nov 18, 2012 -> 04:10 AM) Bears +6, will they cover? If the D can stuff the run I'm predicting a 13-10 game and it could go either way. So I'm gonna say yes.
  16. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Nov 18, 2012 -> 08:54 AM) How does it set them up way better in the future? The fallout alone from this trade is going to cost them. Stanton will leave because there is no way he is going to sign with them. If these players pan out and they want to supplement them down the road with a major free agent, good luck with that. It's not like these prospects are can't miss. I think 1 is a top 100. If the goal is medicrity and yearly profits, then yes, it has set them up way better in the future. I just think if you get that much in public funds to enhance your private business, you owe the community a lot more than what Loria is doing. MLB should be horrified by this, and Bud should tell Loria it's time he left. 2 Top 100 guys and Adeiny Hechavarria is a pretty good prospect himself, finishing 2011 in AAA with a .389/.431/.537 in 25 games then following that up .312/.363/.424 all while being rated the best defensive SS in the Eastern League in '11 and PCL '12. Add in those 3 guys with Yunel Escobar who has a very valuable contract and they got a pretty good deal for the future.
  17. QUOTE (2nd_city_saint787 @ Nov 17, 2012 -> 12:29 AM) ESPN insider has Eric Chavez, Jeff Keppinger, Freddy Sanchez, and Kelly Johnson tagged as possibilities for 3B. I'm not an insider so I don't know what was said about them. Johnsons basically a LH Gordon Beckham. Wouldn't be the worst option though. Freddy Sanchez hasn't stayed healthy in 5 years. Keppinger is somewhat intriguing but I'd prefer a LHer I think Chavez is the best option of the bunch on a 1 year deal. He's gotta be paired with someone who can hit LH pitching though. I'm too tired to look up a good match in a platoon. Didn't have to look any further than the guy right above Chavez. A Chavez/Keppinger platoon would be nice if you have to go through free agency. Keppinger vs. LHP had a .923 OPS in 117 ABs Chavez vs. RHP had a .903 OPS in 245 ABs Sounds like the perfect match....Combined they'd prob make about as much as Youkilis right? Adding Keppinger also gives you a pretty good bat that can play anywhere should someone get hurt.
  18. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Nov 16, 2012 -> 03:55 PM) They actually will have 3 lefties in the rotation. Potentially 4.. Sale, Danks, Q, and Santiago. Any LH pitchers a bad fit..Unless they can somehow trade Danks

  20. He woulda got a pipe to the head if he stuck around for a little bit longer. Nobody wakes me up before 10 am...nobody.
  21. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Nov 16, 2012 -> 10:40 PM) Hey look, I've contributed something good to the NBA thread! Score!
  22. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Nov 16, 2012 -> 07:51 AM) LOL, sounds like Steve. Reminds me of the OOTP baseball league back in the day. I miss those, I used to be in one 6 or 7 years ago...The guy who ran it was named Steve too, I wonder if I was somehow in the same league. No clue how I got in one, maybe it was from this board.
  23. No more twinkie tiramisu for this guy..its a sad sad day
