  1. Easily the best 20 minutes of my life...After watching that I really hope he catches on here. I see potential in his game and after that video I know he'd be awesome in the scalabrine role. I love this guy after that 20 min video! WATCH IT!!! He def has good footwork Watching this again, dude is awesome. He reminds me of the foreigner in Eastbound and Down who's name is not coming to me
  2. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Sep 24, 2012 -> 04:41 PM) He played for the Jazz for a few years and is bad at basketball. Granted Ive never seen him play, I think under Thibs tutelage he can be an Asik like stopper who has better hands and is a better passer...That 9'6" wing span is tied with Greg Oden for the largest in the league, you teach him a little D and he could make us forget all about Asik.
  3. Kyrylo Fesenko: Just landed in Chicago. Tomorrow I have a workout with the Bulls. Really excited to see Korver, Boozer and Brewer! Twitter Kyrylo Fesenko: My bad, people. I didn't know, that Kyle and Ronnie is gone from Chicago. Thank you for info. Twitter Oops...Anyone know anything about this guy?? a 9'4" wing span sounds pretty sexy edit..fixed the 2nd tweet Lots of encouraging things here http://www.draftexpress.com/profile/kyrylo-fesenko-1065/
  4. QUOTE (Brian @ Sep 24, 2012 -> 04:14 PM) Sweep, split, 2 out of 3. I'll take. Very possible, which would force Det to go 8-2 to force game 163...which with their struggles on the road I dont see happening
  5. QUOTE (JoshPR @ Sep 24, 2012 -> 05:11 PM) 7-3 is not so easy at this stage... Nope which is why theres no reason to doom and gloom yet.
  6. QUOTE (JoshPR @ Sep 24, 2012 -> 04:56 PM) Correct me if I'm wrong here... If the sox go 5-5 in the last ten it forces the tigers to go 7-3 to win the division? So if the sox play .500 ball the rest of the way the win the central? I believe if that were the case detroit would win....6-4 by detroit, and 5-5 by the sox would mean a 163rd game
  7. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 23, 2012 -> 01:52 PM) You must be a tough MF if u are gonna be a prison guard. Don't kick my ass, Second City Saint. I can picture Milkman and Saint kicking my butt someday. Don't take my posts too seriously where you guys pummel me. Dont worry, ill never set foot in Lawrence, If you come to Northwest Indiana though thats a different story...I kid, i kid . I think 3 years of semi pro rugby would qualify me as a "tough guy" lol
  8. QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Sep 24, 2012 -> 01:53 PM) Is this just for football? Because losing Bautista, Teixeira, Strasburg, & McCarthy in the last few weeks killed my team in the playoffs. I had a .650 winning percentage in the regular season. Ouch, my team has always had 2 guys on the DL until now (only one now, Tulo)....I traded Miggy, Cargo, and Trout this year, yet here I am in the finals, team could have been a juggernaut.
  9. Good week for my money leagues..Gonna be the only 3-0 team in my football league, and my baseball team finished an 11-0 week in the semi finals. Back to back years my team and a team I helped draft made it to the championship game. Last year my buddy sat next to me and pretty much consulted me on every pick, this year my brother couldnt make it to the draft so i had to draft for him. Funny thing is is its a company league, a company in which I havent been in for 3 years. When are they gonna learn lol
  10. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 24, 2012 -> 11:36 AM) Pls stop calling us doom and gloomers. The team has lost 5 games in a row and is completely in the tank entering the final few series. If the Sox won a game here and there we might not be so gloomy. To add to the gloom, do you think the Sox will have more than 18,000 fans for any of the games in this important series? We faced a KC team that has our number and an Angels team that won 22 of their last 30....if they lose 2 of 3 or get swept at home against the indians then feel free to be gloomy. We're still in first so try and enjoy the ride. The bats can easily get hot here at home and ride it all the way into the playoffs. Cardinals snuck their way into the playoffs last year and we saw what happened there, no reason the Sox cant do the same. I see win #18 on the horizon.
  11. QUOTE (kitekrazy @ Sep 23, 2012 -> 01:06 AM) I don't like that 4 game series with Tampa. Sox are bad in 4 game series. Tampa is also better than the Sox. Granted they were playing much better ball back then but didnt the Sox already sweep tampa this year??
  12. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Sep 23, 2012 -> 07:49 PM) No, there isn't. I was up in that area two weeks ago for a wedding and got a hotel room about two miles from Medinah for $40/night. Add a zero on the end to get that room this week. It probably would be 10-12 hour days if you find a way to get there though. Interview would be tomorrow at 7am, its 60 miles away, I'm not tired, nothing added up as far as getting there, so sadly that ship has sailed. I had many wild ideas that included renting a Uhaul truck or rental van and sleep in the parking lot (if they allowed me) but I'm a big guy so 6 days without a shower would be no bueno. I tried to offer 100 dollars to any of my jobless friends who have a car to loan me said car, that was received as an outlandish request. I live close to a south shore train station and could have walked their, hoped on the metra and it would all work out...but of course with my luck the south shore train gets to union station 4 minutes after the train I'd need to get on leaves. Andddd my brother is expecting a baby sometime this week so my mom wont give up her car (shes taking the whole week off) Its too bad I didnt take care of my last car and the engine blew otherwise I wouldnt be in this situation....Next odd job I'm shootin for to make money for a junker is working at a haunted house here in Hammond. I'm past the sign up date but I've helped them out in the past (worked security for their fireworks stand for minimum wage when I knew minimum wage for a security guard was 2 dollars more) so I'm hoping they help me out.
  13. Dont know where to post this but Scott Diamonds been lights out when its light out (sub 3 era), I picked him up on my fantasy team. I have 6 wins and a 1.69 era in my semi finals game in my money league, heres hopin my good luck this week rubs off on Diamond!! (if not i have a pretty wide margin of error so its all good)
  14. QUOTE (kitekrazy @ Sep 23, 2012 -> 12:44 AM) At some point people have to get tired of that mindset. That is "Cub like". It's really kind of stupid to base a season's success on how well the other team in town performs. All of me wishes the Cubs would move out of Chicago and even IL. Fixed that for you. Luckily for me, this year me being "heartless" or emotionless has really paid off for me. If I had the mindset some of you had I'd really hate life right now. You guys have pissed me off more than the team has but I've realized that its because we all have different mindsets. Konerkos injury riddled 2nd half is the biggest reason for the downfall of the team. I believe the stat I posted the other day that our 9 hole hitter has more Rbis over the last 2 months than our cleanup hitter is really a recipe for disaster. I wish Paulie wasn't such a gamer and would have went on the DL till he was healthy. A healthy PK down the stretch would have paid HUGE dividends down the stretch! Right now its just like the last few years we don't have that scary 1-2 punch that Dunn and PK were supposed to offer....I still think if PK were healthy (John Danks woulda been nice too) than this is a championship caliber team. That all being said the seasons not over, as we all know Det finishes the season with 7 on the road where theyre vulnerable. This things gonna go down to the wire folks so sit back relax and strap it down!
  15. I'm with milkman here. I dont condone it nor do I care that it happens, but it happens and thats that. Prison is a whole new world for the sick and twisted, not a world I want to be involved with in anyway (unless of course my buddy gets me in as a prison guard like he's been trying to do.)
  16. My wildcats are lookin pretty darn good...I kinda dislike the fact that their schedule is sooooo weak, I wanna see them beat a good team.
  17. threads like these make me wish I wasnt so damn addicted to this site,....nothin but a bucket of suck this thread is smh....
  18. Alright so this questions coming completely from left field but I'm looking for a little help. Is there anyone here that lives in the Western Suburbs of Chicago, namely near the Medinah Country Club that can help a fellow soxtalker out? For anyone who has read the job hunt forum you will know that I may be working security for the Ryder Cup...welllll the problem with that is I live 49 miles away and with the long hours I'm sure to have there its just not possible for me to go back and forth everyday. Sooooo I was wondering if any kind person in that area would take me into their home for those 5 days, I'll even sleep in my car if I have to, I just need to use your bathroom to freshen up. When looking at the even schedule for the Cup it looks like I'd be working 12+ hour days so I wont be around that much those 5 days. I can offer you $100 for the week but thats about it, Id be very grateful if you allowed me to do this for free!! Please shoot me a PM if you can help me out!
  19. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Sep 21, 2012 -> 03:18 PM) http://www.rydercup.com/ Nice! Its pretty far away from me but it may be worth it to try to grab a cheap hotel. I guess the parenthasis weren't needed around the major word in my OP, ryder cup is pretty major. I dont follow golf, its a pretty much a morning to night kinda thing right? AKA I could probably make some good money working the whole thing UPDATE: theres no such thing as a cheap hotel during the ryder cup...Ive got no way of working it...lame
  20. Does anyone know of some "major" sporting event going on in the western suburbs of chicago the 25th through the 30th? I have an interview to work security for it on monday.
  21. I was offered Dez Bryant/Malcolm Floyd/Willis Mcgahee for Ryan Matthews/Brandon Lolyd....I already have McCoy, BJGE, and Richardson at RB... Id be set up for: RG3/P Manning Wallace/Bryant/Bowe/Floyd/Blackmon or Jeffery McCoy/Richardson/BJGE/Mcgahee Gronk/Cook No flex player. I'm also debating a counter trade, straight up Matthews for Julio Jones.. What says you guys
  22. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 20, 2012 -> 11:46 PM) Do any of you think Robin has changed his philosophy the last six weeks or so? Remember when he always let his starters go deep in games? Now he seems content at five innings and anxious to begin the lefty/right crap. I guess if we don't make the playoffs we'll look back and realize the losses of Danks, Floyd (for extended period), Buehrle and Humber turning into s*** after being reliable were really difficult to overcome. Also Thornton being lousy and Ohman a joke. Also DeAza being out a few weeks with injury and Dunn being out for a bit and Paulie being banged up the entire second half. To be 10 over .500 is probably a minor miracle. That's why I say Robin ultimately could be manager of the year or second in voting. Going with your first question greg, that may be true. Look who the starters are though, Peavy coming off injury, Sales first year as a starter, Qs first year in the majors, Gavins been dealing with injury for a little bit, and Lirianos control problems cause him to exit early. While yes Buehrle would have been great to have this year, he was just not an option on a team that cut payroll. You gotta get over that. That coupled with all the weapons they have in the pen is gonna call for a lot of bullpen action and as it is with every mlb bullpen its hit or miss. I really like the bullpen though unlike most of you, I see 6 or 7 quality guys down there that given the right situation are dynamite. As for the 2nd stanza of your post.. Danks is obviously a huge loss, he's that innings eater that would have been nice to have. Matt Thornton has been far from lousy, his hate on this board is the most outrageously over blown thing in the history of the interwebs. If not for back to back bad games in boston he'd have a 2.54 ERA, post all star break without those 2 games? 1.94....in 13 appearances against the AL central post ASB he gave up 2 runs....In what world is that lousy?? Paulie being banged up is the biggest reason why we havent ran away with the central IMO. You put a healthy Kong on this team then this board isnt talking "Playoffs?" were talking "Championship??" and its not even a question to me. (Fun tidbit, in Aug/Sept PK has 17 RBI...Gordo has 22)
  23. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 20, 2012 -> 01:19 PM) You guys don't wanna hear it but just take the L tonight and move on to the rest of the season. For the Royals, every game against the Sox is their playoff game. They feast on beating us and for the Sox, they sleepwalk in front of 12,000 KC fans. After tonight, it's time to hunker down or whatever Hawk's saying is. Bugger off greg, youre horrible. Way to go A's.
