  1. Judging by mocks it doesn't seem like Stephenson will be available. I like the college arm route but I'm not sure I could pass on Stephenson if he falls.
  2. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jun 5, 2015 -> 12:43 PM) Yup. That match is live on the network at 3 AM on the 4th of July from Tokyo. Pretty badass. Ya that should be "epic". QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jun 5, 2015 -> 12:46 PM) Brock vs Kofi will be on there as well. Lol what? Question for you TNA followers... Are Robbie E and Zema Ion any good? We got them coming into the promotion I work for on the 20th. This guy might become the General Manager of SPW.
  3. QUOTE (Brian @ Jun 5, 2015 -> 05:43 AM) This team with Thibs this year disappointed. They were suppose to be a 1 or 2 seed and just barely got a 3 seed. They could very easily win more than 50 games next year just by switching coaches. Ya, for a team that had Butler emerge, Niko come over, and Pau signed, it's really mind boggling that they pretty much scored the same PPG.
  4. If there was really beef between the FO and Thibs, one of em had to go, period. We can say the wrong people went, which could be true, but something had to be done. It's really that simple to me. The relationship between GM and Head Coach is being over looked.
  5. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 3, 2015 -> 02:10 AM) OK. Here's an outsider's point of view. Why in the world is Hoiberg an upgrade over Thibs? Answer he's not. This is a ridiculous hire. I cannot believe Thibs and Scott Brooks were replaced by Hoiberg and Billy Donovan respectively. LOL hires. Hoiberg will be gone after 3 seasons with pressure to can him after two. Donovan may not even last a full season. Conversely you can bring up Mark Jackson, who had a better record his last year in Golden State, got fired and was replaced by a guy who never coached a game at any level in Steve Kerr......Where are they now? Oh ya, the NBA finals after being one of the best overall teams the last 10 years or so.
  6. Can't link it for whatever reason but 2 years ago Fred posted a pic of Noah shooting on Twitter with the line look away kids. Take away what you will from that, coukda been him just being funny.
  7. QUOTE (bmags @ Jun 2, 2015 -> 02:44 PM) You know, I'll say this. If you are going to make a change from a winning coach, I hope it's because you have someone in mind you know you'll get. I think it looks more foolish when you, say, fire a Bo pellini b/c he can't get you a b1g championship to then shift around for a while before hiring mike riley. This. No need for those Far quotes though.
  8. Dream scenario if that last post I made was possible.... Sign Green. Use the MLE on Jason Smith. Draft Tyus Jones. Rose/Jones/Moore Green/Snell Butler/McBuckets Pau/Niko Noah/Smith If guys like Snell and Dougie turn into good shooters that team would have range for days.
  9. Correct me when I'm wrong.... Hypothetically they trade Taj for a pick, that moves them to roughly 55mill of a 67mill cap. At that point assuming the timing is right, they could then sign Green/Wes first, then sign Butler, and then still use the MLE?
  10. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ May 31, 2015 -> 03:34 PM) According to Cowley, Taj was furious about Thibs being fired. If so, I'd imagine Taj will be traded, which I kind of figured anyway. If you can trade Taj and get Jimmy told hold off on offer sheets for a few days, M. Gasol actually is semi-possible I believe. I love Marc Gasol, but assuming neither take the MLE I'd rather Green or Matthews then use the MLE on another big or pg. I'm cool with trading Taj though.
  11. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 31, 2015 -> 01:53 PM) Is this possible? Zoom, I order you to speak up. It all depends if they're willing to take the MLE(5.4mill). Matthews might considering his coming off injury. I'm sure zoom can figure out a scenario where the Bulls could spend more.
  12. QUOTE (Heads22 @ May 31, 2015 -> 12:34 PM) Hoiberg also interviewed with NO. If he coaches the NBA team like ISU, plan on lots of 3s, average defense, lots of plays run through point forwards and the like A lot of people want Jo gone, but in your opinion wouldn't he fit the bill as that point forward perfectly? Watching highlights, looks like Niko could be similar to Niang. Though Niangs post game looks better. All I know is I really hope they can somehow grab Wes Matthews or Danny Green in FA.
  13. QUOTE (Brian @ May 30, 2015 -> 09:31 PM) Did GS up the ante to keep him from NY? Possibly...but then I could also point out that the Knicks gave Fisher the same deal that Kerr, and possibly Hoiberg got.. 5/25 seems to be the going rate for rookie head coaches. At least Hoiberg has some coaching experience. Perhaps also worth pointing out, Billy Donovan got 6mill a year.
  14. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 30, 2015 -> 08:32 PM) Jesus that's a lot of money for a guy who hasn't coached in the league before. Didn't Thibs start with only a 3 year deal? That would be the same deal Kerr got. Kerr never coached at any level.
  15. QUOTE (bmags @ May 29, 2015 -> 02:36 PM) I have a hard time imagining anything different about the bulls except 1 more rookie. I think PG is basically guaranteed in draft. I believe they have the MLE to use.
  16. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 29, 2015 -> 02:22 PM) Wade might become a free agent again this summer. I am sure he will be the next to pass up the Bulls. http://probasketballtalk.nbcsports.com/201...-his-departure/ I think I'd pass anyway. I don't think the Bulls are gonna clear enough money for him. I think Noah would be a good fit in Hoibergs offense. I really just want Wes Matthews.
  17. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 29, 2015 -> 01:09 PM) It will be interesting to see how efficient an offense based on launching 3s is with DRose "feeling it". Really, how many guys on the Bulls roster other than perhaps McBuckets, and Dunleavy if he is even back, do you really think can hit 3s with much consistency? Snell looks like he could be good beyond the arc if given the time. 17 for 34 in the summer league, then 37% in regular games. I really think Snell could emerge next year, hopefully getting some good minutes between the 2 and the 3. Really hoping they can get Wes Matthews in here to be the starting 2 guard.
  18. I've always, ALWAYS, heard it's important for the GM and coach to have a good relationship.
  19. Wright, RJ Hunter, Tyus Jones, and Rashad Vaughn in that order are the guys Im looking at. Hollis-Jefferson looks like a freak, but a freak without a 3 point shot. Based on what I've read about Hoiberg, we're gonna see a lot if 3 point shooting.
  20. Hoiberg has a DVD on transition offense, I'm sold. www.championshipproductions.com/cgi-bin/champ/p/Basketball/Fred-Hoiberg-Transition-Basketball-with-Six-Secondary-Break-Sets_BD-04322.html?mv_session_id=oIFTPG9gYjaR&id=oIFTPG9gYjaR Then again Mark Trestman had a book that sold me too. Why these things matter to me, I have no clue. ....ugh why aren't my links clickable?
  21. I'm just excited to see what should be an exciting brand of basketball. I know a lot of people, including myself, wanna see Jo traded, but with his ability to be a point center he sounds like he could be perfect for Hoibergs offense. Along with Royce White, I wonder if they might give DeAndre Kane a look.
  22. Wonder if at some point TNA guys will invade ROH....After TNA does the enevitable and folds of course.
  23. Ring of Honor picked up by Destination America. Time to actually figure out what channel that is on direct TV.
  24. QUOTE (bmags @ May 26, 2015 -> 01:58 PM) In hindsight? Perhaps that didn't really make sense. What I'm saying is in hindsight this move didn't work.
  25. QUOTE (bmags @ May 26, 2015 -> 01:48 PM) That's not what I'm asking. I know Fangio vouched. But again, it was so easy to avoid this. How about to help guys like Goldman and Ego? He's been in Fangios system for 4 years. Only DLineman with more experience in his system is Justin Smith. Easy to avoid in hindsight, yes.
