  1. 5 of 7 games is an awful lot...what if they're in the same situation tomorrow, do you pitch him 6 of games...and so on.
  2. QUOTE (Mike F. @ May 16, 2015 -> 09:31 AM) Does anyone know why Robertson didn't pitch yesterday? Not sure if serious, but the guy pitched 4 of the previous 5 games. They just gave him 2 days off...,He can't pitch every game of this 10 game win streak they're about to go on!
  3. QUOTE (LDF @ May 15, 2015 -> 04:52 PM) is there anyone in the nba who will want Rose??? is there any way to help in his contract?? Highly doubtful and no. Ya gotta hope Rose can get back to being Rose to have real title aspirations.
  4. QUOTE (pettie4sox @ May 15, 2015 -> 04:44 PM) Is this doable? Negative. Players can't be included in the trading of coaches.
  5. QUOTE (bmags @ May 15, 2015 -> 01:55 PM) So, alvin Gentry thoughts? He's got a bad track record, but he's also had some bad teams. I like that he's coached under Dantoni and Kerr, so I'm assuming he would emplement a faster pace, which is what I really want to see them do. Reading LMA and Wes Matthews wanna be a package deal. Somehow trade Noah and Taj, sign those 2 guys, end scene.
  6. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ May 15, 2015 -> 11:55 AM) I love all three of those guys and they would be great fits. However, If I'm giving the money, I'm probably giving it to Love. Make Cleveland weaker and get the guy that is 26 years old vs. two guys who are on the other side of 30. I think I'd take Love last just because I wanna see if Niko can develop into a starter. Don't think you can start Love next to Niko. Wouldn't hate to see Deandre Jordan next to Niko if they could also add another shooter like Matthews.
  7. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ May 15, 2015 -> 11:52 AM) Evidently, if the Bulls were able to time things right with Jimmy Butler's max deal, they would be able to move Taj / Noah and be in a position to offer max money to one of Aldridge / Gasol / Love. Can LMA play the 5? If they ever consider Niko a starter they'll need to have a strong 5 next to him.
  8. With Butler set to get a max contract more than likely, wouldn't that put them over the tax threshold thus eliminating the MLE? Or can they sign their MLE then Butler? Wes Matthews would be pretty sweet if he decides he wants to take the MLE as a "Prove it" deal coming off an injury.
  9. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ May 15, 2015 -> 12:18 AM) This is NOT a championship roster. Thibs deserves his fair share of the blame but this roster can't win a championship. Changes need to be made. What can they realistically do? Hearing a lot of build around Rose, Niko, and Butler talk. Assuming Butler gets his max contract, I believe that's 14M, so 39M between those 3 guys. The cap is gonna be at 67m. The following year the cap is set to jump up 20M. Do back loaded contracts happen in the NBA? Who are people looking at this off season? Who are you lookin to dump?
  10. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 12, 2015 -> 08:48 PM) Making a terrible pitcher look good...and waiting halfway through the game to mount any type of offensive attack will do that. Comments I was reading were more about Sale and the defense. I thought for sure they had hung up a crooked number, only to find out they had 1 run up until the last inning. Game threads are becoming more and more whiney.
  11. Wow, I was reading the first 5 pages during the bulls game and thought the Sox were getting blown out. Just now flipped it over and really, just 2-2??? Game threads sure are fun.
  12. And through all that, they're just 4 back in the wild card. The 2nd spot currently being owned by the Twins. Are we really buying the Twins? After the Twins are the Rays, who the Sox are 3 back of, and just lost their 2nd SP for the year. Sox are just 2 games or less behind the rest of the bunch. 12-16 doesn't look good, but sans the top 4 teams, the AL is looking like the NBA Eastern conference.
  13. I can buy 1 bad month. I can't see the starting pitching being this bad all year. Hopefully yesterday gets Lexi going, and Eaton has to get it going at some point too right?...Right? Fun fact, the world champion Giants had a 10-16 month last year. Royals had a 12-17 month.
  14. QUOTE (ptatc @ May 10, 2015 -> 10:44 AM) Yes. Physcially, it would be like taking two weeks off from running ,then decide to do some sprinting. It would not be the optimally way to go physically. Plus, he would lose the feel for the pitches and be uncomfortable. I just don't think it would turn out well. What if they had him pitch side sessions on his day off?
  15. Would there be some negative effect from skipping his start once every few weeks?
  16. QUOTE (Real @ May 7, 2015 -> 12:03 AM) if only this team could win on the road, they might have something. Right?! 8-3 at home so far.
  17. Read over on a Broncos blog that he's "the worst OT in the league"...which is of course false...Jordan Mills is.
  18. QUOTE (bmags @ May 5, 2015 -> 10:34 AM) Regardless of whether we were frugal, that may give us a $10-$15k advantage. This guy will go to wherever he can start right away and parlay it into a deal. If I were him (assuming he is not the scum of the earth who murdered his pregnant girlfriend), I'd already plan on holding out after year 1. If I'm reading it correctly, UDFAs can't redo their contracts until after year 2. But ya, being frugal could be irrelevant. There's a cap on individual UDFA signings, so as long as teams saved enough money for 1 more UDFA it's all an even playing field. Playing time right away obviously is in favor of the Bears, but I'm sure there are other teams with holes on their line with money left as well.
  19. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ May 5, 2015 -> 07:41 AM) I honestly think Zayn hurt his shoulder as he was making his entrance into the ring. He was super pumped up obviously and I think he threw out his shoulder getting the crowd going on the steps. Did anybody else see what I'm talking about? Eh idk.. What I saw as weird is Cena did that side suplex that "hurt" zayn twice. Him doing it twice, gave me the feeling that zayn forgot the spot where he was supposed to act injured.
  20. I was very underwhelmed by the Zayn match. The match just had a weird feeling to me. Perhaps there were some nerves going on there.
  21. 140 games left...3.5 games behind the 2nd wild card....impossible.
  22. Cherry picking time....Eliminate the 3 career games where Danish gave up more than 3 runs and he has a 1.32 era over 170.1 innings.
  23. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ May 4, 2015 -> 12:49 PM) I guess what I'm wondering is, can he sign a one year deal, no longer be a rookie and then get a big deal in 2016 assuming he proves it? Edit: Just the post above mine now. But does that mean they HAVE to sign that standard contract? What if he waits a year and doesn't play? Or what if he signs a one year deal in the CFL or Europe, can he then sign for whatever he wants? Minnesota just signed that giant Polish lineman to a million dollar deal a few weeks ago. I'm not positive, but yes I think if he signs with an NFL team it has to be the 3 year deal. I would assume if he goes to the CFL or whatever then things would change and he'd be a straight up FA.
  24. NFL teams are limited to about $88,000 in total bonuses for all UDFA's, who get a standard three-year contract that pays $435,000 in 2015, $525,000 in 2016 and $615,000 in 2017, as long as the player makes the 53-man roster each year. It's roughly the same for rookies drafted after the third round. Drafted rookies are bound to a fourth year. If after three years Collins has impressed his employer, he could make as much as $3.88 million in the fourth year when UDFA's become restricted free agents. The lower tender in the UDFA's fourth year is $1.785 million and the mid-level tender is $2.73 million. www.nola.com/lsu/index.ssf/2015/05/lsus_lael_collins_nfl_salary.html
