  1. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jun 29, 2015 -> 10:59 AM) So the difference between a 70-win team and a 90-win team is a couple aging veterans returning to their career norms? Color me skeptical. Might not be as crazy as it sounds. Last 10 games when Milky and Eaton have been hitting well they've started to score more runs. Had they nit coughed up 2 games late they very easily could have won 6 of their last 8. If Avi gets it going again along with those 2 the offense will look even better.
  2. QUOTE (LDF @ Jun 28, 2015 -> 03:15 PM) this is starting to, for me, is the reason why RV needs to go. why wasn't the pen being active at the 6 inning or the start of the 7. take out Jeff earlier. who is the manager, who cares if Jeff didn't want to come out. Uhh, didn't Jeff have like 90 pitches going into the 8th? Why would the pen be up in the 6th or even the 7th. Admittedly I missed the 5th 6th and 7th, was he starting to get roughed up before the 8th or something? Edit looking at the play by play... He gave up 2 hits in 7 innings and was under 100 pitches going into the 8th. Why on earth are you complaining about the bullpen nit being up in the 6th or 7th. Thats just beyond silly.
  3. QUOTE (Dunt @ Jun 28, 2015 -> 01:29 PM) Safe to say Adam is back to his old self OBP over .400 the last 2 weeks.
  4. Teams starting to come around. Had the bullpen not blown the last game they would have won 5 of their last 7. Maybe that long losing streak woke em up. *Knocks on wood*
  5. Melky now 10 for his last 25 with 2 doubles, a triple, and a HR. Starting to look like the player we had hoped for.
  6. Question to those who track mileage on their tax returns. Does the mileage include the trip to and from work as well? To keep track I should be able to just attach my route sheet (it has all the locations I hit) to a mapquest print out that includes how many miles right? Some may remember I posted about working as a sub contractor and my employer doesn't take taxes out. I asked the boss if I'm gonna have to pay taxes and he said not if I track my miles and write those off.
  7. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 28, 2015 -> 11:41 AM) The quickest fix would be for the good players on this team to start playing like good players again. It has seemingly started to happen too. Eaton and Cabrera over the last 2 weeks are both hitting over .300 with OBPs over .370....Now they need Avi to join them and Jose to look like 2014 Jose.
  8. Still don't really get Jose in the 2 spot? Only rationale I can think of is an attempt to get Eaton going on the basepaths. JA gets a lot of breaking balls and those are obviously easier to steal on. Melky has been hot the last 2 weeks and Id like to see him back in the 2 hole.
  9. Just wanted to hear thoughts on this from some non conspiracy theorists on my Facebook. What is it? Why are people freaking out about it?
  10. Gimme a time machine and some roids and we'll be golden. #UselessDrunkPost
  11. Damn, I thought the Bulls had the the full MLE and would have a an outside shot at Wes Matthews. Just the mini MLE......Bellineli?
  12. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 25, 2015 -> 10:43 PM) And your SS plan? Please don't answer Sanchez and Micah Johnson, or Beckham and Micah/Sanchez up the middle. As of the moment, White Sox at 2.3% chance at wild card, Oakland at 10.3%, Boston at 10.5%. “There might be a change here and there but you have the people you have unless you can move them,” Ventura said. “Those are the facts. Right now we’re going to have to figure out a way for this group to get better...You have to keep them together, keep them pointed in the right direction and there’s an element in here that you don’t want them to cave into it.” “You continue to compete and you have to be able to come out here,” Ventura said. “You practice right, you get the right mentality going and you go play. And there has to be that expectation there. There is a professionalism that goes with it and whether it’s going good or bad, you better be coming out ready to compete.” “I get my point across and these guys know that and there’s moments that are louder than others. There’s moments that are more poignant than others. But in the end, this is professional baseball and there are standards that are there and I’m trying to make sure those are met. And when they’re not, it becomes a tougher conversation with guys. You’re upfront and they know what’s expected.” http://www.csnchicago.com/white-sox/robin-...&ocid=yahoo Glad Ventura wasn't hired as the inspirational speaker at his daughter's graduation! White Sox have a better record than Boston, and are just .5 games behind Oakland. Why are their chances higher? Still 90 games to go and they're 6 back in the wild card. Eaton and Cabrera are showing signs of light. Anything can happen.
  13. A little surprised to see Michael Frazier not drafted yet. Dude made 43% of his 500+ 3 point attempts. You'd think that would get you drafted higher than where the draft is now.
  14. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jun 25, 2015 -> 10:30 PM) Hoiberg loves shooting bigs. Loves the mismatch drawing the other teams big out. Only saw one play, but he looks to have pretty good handles bringing the ball up the court in transition as well.
  15. Portis was 14-30 from beyond the arc. Obviously not gonna shoot close to 50%, but it would be nice if that becomes even more part of his game.
  16. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Jun 25, 2015 -> 03:44 PM) Hawk said twice that Sanchez got a double when he was standing on 3rd lol. Atta boy Carlos! Man, I hate Detroit. Double and went to 3rd on the throw Is assume.
  17. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 25, 2015 -> 01:42 PM) Just the 3rd time they've scored 4 runs or more in the last 21 games. Good call to let LaRoche swing 3-0, kind of a no brainer with Simon completely losing his command. I can flip that and say it's the 2nd time in 3 games they scored 5 or more.
  18. Yup, Primo. He's actually fairly good in the ring and it should be a good match, but man, give Cesaro a higher profile match.
  19. The real wrestlemania takes place in Valpo on July 26th. My company has Scott Steiner, Hardcore Holly, Shannon Moore, Rob Conway, Gorgeous George, and Shelley Martinez. July 5th we have a free show at a Gary festival if anyone wants to brave getting stabbed. Zema Ion and Shannon Moore are gonna be there.
  20. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 25, 2015 -> 11:37 AM) IMO, if the White Sox are targeting multiple positions, they should target non-advanced bats. Scour the lower levels and don't demand someone who is going to arrive tomorrow. Yes it will delay the "rebuilding" this team needs to do, but that's the only way IMO to come up with multiple long-term big leaguers in a deal such as this. With the state of the pitching staff, I think they should be targeting guys who are at the very latest 2 years away. It seems very possible that we could see Sale-Rodon-Q-Fulmer in 2 years if not next year. I wanna see them start adding offensive pieces to go with that potentially dynamic staff.
  21. QUOTE (Buehrlesque @ Jun 25, 2015 -> 11:20 AM) This is what I think as well. Try to target advanced bats — preferably outfielders, third basemen and NOT catchers. NOT catchers supposed to be green?
  22. I know the Sox develop pitching much better than hitting, and you can never have too much pitching, but at some point they gotta start bringing some hitting in. If I'm trading Shark (or Q) I'm looking for a package built around an advanced bat.
