0.5 games worse and they've played 1 more game, to be fair. But yeah, they might be in about as big of a mess as us...although they do have a whole lot more young contributors to sub in as a way to try to fix that in the next few years.

And they just spend over mistakes. The White Sox won't and can't do that.

And, it's a lot easier to make a quick recovery in the current AL East than the Central...that hasn't been the case since 2005-2006.

Run differential says that the White sox have about 10 more wins than they should.

Red Sox have more $$ and a far better farm system to fall back on.

Ken Rosenthal said Sox are out of it but it's tough getting any returns in a trade at this point. He thinks Shark should be dealt. I think we should sign Shark and hold tight for next year and just look at upgrading at catcher and 3B. BUT, I am not giving up on this year and at least a wild card spot

But in the end, this is professional baseball and there are standards that are there and I’m trying to make sure those are met. And when they’re not, it becomes a tougher conversation with guys. I'm not sure what projection system he's using but it's probably based a little on preseason expectations. Those teams were thought to be better coming into the season. Also, based on run differential and overall performance, most systems would say the Sox are "lucky" that their record isn't worse.

Has Cubs at 71.8%, higher than the Pirates in the high 50's and two consecutive playoff appearances.

I am not sure anyone can give you an answer as your thinking is such that every member of the Sox stink and our minor league system is a non show. I am not happy with Ramirez and his play this year but look at his record with he Sox. If players do their job as a cohesive team you can compete. Not all or any have to be all-star champions
