  1. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 21, 2015 -> 11:55 AM) The key thing we need to do? Stop pretending we have an "all-in" quality roster. Replace guys as best as we can, play some kids in places, and see if we can actually set ourselves up for 2017. Trading Quintana can be part of that, but it's not the #1 requirement. The #1 requirement is understanding how far away this team actually is and acting like it. If somehow things work out better, great, but at least we won't be in the mess we're in now where we're forced to move people because a sandwich pick isn't a great return for them and it'd be crazy to pay the price to keep a guy away from FA. The problem is, is the pitching staff is indeed "all-in" quality. If they can even get get a few average bats in here for next year they could be competitive. Austin Barnes might be someone you could consider a B prospect and I would love for him to be the return for Shark. He looks like he could possibly be a #2 hitter, and to get that from the catcher position would be huge in my book.
  2. I really like what I've read about Barnes. Said to be an excellent catcher, great eye, plus speed for a catcher. Might be grossly undervaluing Sharks value, but I really wouldn't be mad if he's the centerpiece in a Shark trade. Maybe Barnes and one of their many SP prospects.
  3. Didn't see it...at what point did it happen. Analyzing the play by play, and knowing Coo makes pitching decisions I can't see how you can pin this on Robin. Which is clearly what you'you're trying to do.
  4. Soooo.. How does one watch a PPV from the beginning mid PPV? Can't seem to figure it out.
  5. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 19, 2015 -> 04:26 PM) The real question is who bet their house on the Danks start? That would have taken major cojones. Losses in Quintana and Sale starts against KC aren't exactly shockers. And Alex Gordon's out too, so we can't really use the injury excuse, either. Hey now, if I had the money I would have bet the house on Danks. 9-1 with a better era than Sale in his career vs KC. He should have started the first game to set the tone.
  6. Fun fact.... Chris Sale in his career has a 2.68 era vs KC...Danks? 2.60.
  7. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 19, 2015 -> 01:33 AM) I'm really down on Robin after today's game and this series. You guys that despise Ozzie ... he never would be this laid back in search of getting back in the race. Robin doesn't pitch Robertson. WTF with that? Four innings to Jennings? Robin basically conceded ANOTHER game. No urgency with this guy or this team. Letting Jennings pitch another inning was suicide for the White Sox team on Saturday. Robin also pitches Danks and Shark in the DH instead of Sale/Shark. No sense of urgency to tell the Royals "for once we are going to f***ing kick your ass." They save Sale for "another day." Very sad. This team has no competitiveness and it starts with Robin. You guys asked to get rid of one guy who would go down screaming/fighting/clawing if the Royals came to town and he was in charge: Ozwald Guillen!!!! Lol remember when you went on a tangent about Robin running out of pitchers? What would your response have been had Robertson came in and the Sox failed to score for an inning or 2?.You would have b****ed about that too. And Lol at complaining about the order of the rotation. What does it matter if Sale pitches Friday or Sunday? He still pitches against the Royals.
  8. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 19, 2015 -> 03:13 AM) Sox had been playing well before the break, winning series after series. As expected, they are back to their Sox ways post AS break. I predict the inevitable 3 of 4 losses to KC. Today's game 5-1 Royals. They hung 3 runs on Herrera and Holland yesterday. That's not really the White Sox way we've seen. Yesterday was simply just a tough loss, but one I believe you can take some positives from. Win today and I'll be more than happy with a spilt.
  9. Great work and welcome aboard....I must ask, are you of any relation to Thomas?
  10. I wonder what Greg would have said if if Robin pitched Robertson, the game was still tied, and he ran out of pitchers.....I don't recall his stance on the last time we ran out of pitchers.
  11. QUOTE (scs787 @ Jul 18, 2015 -> 06:15 PM) Wait this game is still going on?!?!?! I tuned out after Jake gave up those 2 runs! f***ing jynx

  13. QUOTE (Bigsoxhurt35 @ Jul 16, 2015 -> 10:05 PM) I hope we trade Shark for a hitter. We don't develop hitters well, so I'd like to see us trade him for one. Indeed. Esp. When you consider at some point in the near future the Sox could run Sale-Rodon-Q-Fulmer-EJ out there for a few years.
  14. QUOTE (GreenSox @ Jul 16, 2015 -> 05:21 PM) I still like dealing with Astros, if they'll give up some of their good guys. I'd take Appel, whom they seem to be tiring of, for Shark. Coop could straighten him out. I would be very disappointed if the centerpiece for Shark is a pitcher. They have to start getting some hitters in here. As we see this year, what good is having a rotation of 4 good-great starting pitchers is you can't score runs. I agree with Balta. Give it a week. There really is no rush rush right now.
  15. QUOTE (Brian @ Jul 16, 2015 -> 07:57 PM) Jushin Thunder Liger will be at the next nxt takeover Awesome. Dude can still go. His match with Dalton Castle a few weeks back in RoH was pretty good.
  16. Oh, and I loves me some hawk too. Really hope he stays. I'm a Homer myself and see zero problem with his homerisms.
  17. Wish we had a history with Eric Byrnes. He's absolutely ridiculous but I love every second of it. Also...I
  18. Apparently I am going to be Scott Steiners driver next weekend. Picking him up at the airport Friday, Fort Wayne Saturday, Valpo Sunday. I am both stoked and terrified at the same damn time.
  19. QUOTE (Brian @ Jul 14, 2015 -> 06:59 AM) It was a funny segment because the Bella's and Alicia Fox don't belong in the ring with the other 6, who grew up in wrestling and weren't models first. The divas are now must see segments on Raw for me, right after Brock. The US title open challenge has been fantastic week in and week out.
  20. While this thread is high jacked, I'll add even more.... I wonder what the Dodgers would want for Justin Turner? Isn't Olivera supposed to be in the majors soon? Turner is still young enough that he could be a bridge for a few years till hopefully Trey M. makes his way up. Edited because I'm fat and my phone is small.
  21. Aramis, like LaRoche has been a 2nd half hitter throughout his career. I would take a gamble on him if it doesn't't cost EJ, Danish, Montas, Adams, Anderson, Hawkins, or Trey.
  22. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 12, 2015 -> 05:51 PM) I still have hope that LaDunn will get hot here any day now...isn't he traditionally a second half player? Hopefully he'll go on a tear right after the break. Too lazy to look up the last 2 years, but from 2003 to 2013 Adam had an OPS .113 points higher in the 2nd half of the season. That margin ranked him 5th among all players in 1St/2nd half splits. If that trend continues and they add another bat, anything can happen.
  23. If they can find a good bat for a minor league package that doesn't include Fulmer or Anderson, they should.
  24. QUOTE (coco1997 @ Jul 12, 2015 -> 12:15 PM) But how do you upgrade at catcher/SS/3B without moving a guy like Quintana? See my other posts. Gotta give up guys like EJ, Montas, and Danish.
