It certainly could have been done differently but I don't think as a result of a poorly put together match that everyone should hate and boo Reigns. -

QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jan 26, 2015 -> 04:00 PM) There will be a huge backlash against Reigns at Mania, and really not catapult anything but dislike. Which would be pretty dumb in my opinion but I guess I'm alone in thinking that. Too me its like Shawn Michaels is popular so let's not try and develop the rock or something along those lines. We saw with the rash of injuries just a few months ago that they really need to start building more stars than just your top few guys. -

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jan 26, 2015 -> 02:45 PM) Because if they want him to be the face of the company they have to get him over as a face first. They're rushing this completely and that's why it's blowing up in their face. Especially when they have 3 other full time faces that are so hugely over. I've always thought he was plenty over. Hell they could be looking at last years rumble when the fans were chanting his name hella loud. Reigns Brock makes the most sense to me. This SHOULD catapult Reigns into superstardom and develop another big name for the future. But because Bryan is so over it won't happen. -

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jan 26, 2015 -> 01:53 PM) The thing is they want Roman to be the new Cena so I really don't think we're getting a heel turn from him anytime soon. Exactly, and what better way to make that happen then to have him win the rumble and take down Brock. Reigns is what he is in the ring and has gotten much better on the mic. Im not his biggest fan in the least bit but if they wanna build new superstars then I get it. I'm not surprised that the company is surprised at all and really they should be. Anyway, if you wanna cleanse your pallet of WWE I will be ring announcing an event in Gary this Saturday....And by cleansing your pallet I mean watch some truly awful wrestling that will make WWE look really good. This isn't the Indy wrestling I've been touting in the past, this is A ball level wrestling. Not quite rookie ball though because I've seen worse. -

QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jan 26, 2015 -> 12:34 AM) Powell's POV: An embarrassing night for Vince McMahon. It's bad enough that he was so stubborn about Batista winning at this time last year, but now he's done it two years in a row. This is damaging to Reigns, The Rock, and WWE overall. Keep in mind that this is a man who claims to listen to the fans. Damn near everyone assumed the crowd would turn on Reigns if they went with him winning the match, yet Vince stuck with it rather than go with Daniel Bryan. Sure, he can turn Reigns heel if things get bad, but that doesn't justify this move. The Rumble match was more deflated than a New England Patriots football (finally got to work that one in) once Bryan was eliminated. It wasn't just the Bryan elimination, though, the booking of the match was really bad and some of those eliminations were just asinine and lazy. Vince McMahon knew Reigns wasn't over enough to please the fans, so he brought in The Rock in order to help get him over. Swing and a miss. The online fans who have been the most anti-Reigns since word came out that he was pegged for the Rumble win are the first people who will see through this and will continue to hold it against Reigns. Two years in a row, Vince. How embarrassing. People complain that WWE doesn't develop new stars. How exactly can they do that when everyone s***s on things like this? And this is coming from a guy who gets jokes thrown at him about my bias to Indy stars. -

QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Jan 26, 2015 -> 12:25 AM) I agree, but as I mentioned before, eliminating Bryan so early, and Dolph lasting all of 2 minutes was awful. Not to mention Titus O'Neil was #26 too. Having Kane and Big Show be 2 out of the last 3 was also bad. At least make it interesting. Everyone knew they weren't going to win it. I think they pretty much wanted to get rid of Bryan early in an effort to give the crowd some time to cool off. Same could be said for Ziggler probably. Certainly not saying it was good or anything though. -

Pretty much everyone expected Reigns to win anyway so I don't quite see why the outrage. It was awful yes, but not sure why we're all surprised by the outcome. -

QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Jan 25, 2015 -> 10:52 PM) Rollins missed that splash big time and we probably won't see it again because of it. Bubba Ray was great. And I think I officially lost this. I'd have to watch it again but it looked to me that cena moved a bit...Hope Bubba gets a contract. -

Really impressed by Ryback/Rusev tonight. I know some here don't watch SD all the time or may have skipped past the match knowing the outcome was obvious, so if you didn't watch it I would recommend doing so. Ryback continues to grow on both in the ring and with the mic. -

QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Jan 22, 2015 -> 11:32 AM) So what is Marhsall's role? #hegone? He seems to be excited about the Gase hire. I remember PFF had a statistic a year ago about how good Marshall was in the slot. Now I know the offense doesn't have to mirror Denvers, but just for the sake of a role convo, I'd say he plays the Welker role. There was already a tweet about Alshon = Thomas, so now I really think this team needs a Sanders, a guy to really stretch the field. -

If the new staff believes in what Paea did then he could be a fit anywhere on the line. 3-4 DEs are basically a 3 technique DT in a 4-3, and with the pressure he got last year some team will over pay to play him there. Buttt I wouldn't bank on Paea repeating what he did, and that comes from a big Paea fan. In a perfect world the kid from USC falls into our lap somehow setting up Houston-Rat/Ego-Williams. -

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jan 16, 2015 -> 01:53 PM) Im guessing that he would most likely require a flip to 3-4, and Fox has been pretty much 4-3 everywhere he has been There has been rumors of Mike Nolan or Mike Smith so if those are to be believed, he might be open to a 3-4. I'm guessing it will be Dennis Allen. -

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jan 15, 2015 -> 06:50 PM) Weeks...in the matter of 3 days, 4 teams filled their coaching vacancies and the candidate pull shrunk significantly. You can't just sit around for a couple extra weeks necessarily. I'm not talking about making a rash decision, but I'm also saying you can't just sit back going, I don't know, I need to meet with everyone either. Their is a fine balance. And it works in real life too, when you interview the first candidate, they might be the best candidate for a position. You could say, oh they are great, lets do it, or you could say, well I want to meet another 30 people and after meeting those 30 people you go, yep #1 was the right person, but by the time you finished the process and reached out to #1, he's now taken another job and isn't interested. Heck I can talk from personal experience, that the speed at which a company moves can be a real turn off as a job candidate (cause you start to question the speed at which decisions can be made and how things operate). There is a reasonable timeframe and unreasonable one and the Bears are getting ready to enter into dangerous territory. Bottom line, they've met enough people to know whether Fox is the guy or not. If he isn't, like I said, fine, but you better than start pressing the guys you think are it (and you can't say...well maybe it is Quinn so we'll sit around and weight on Quinn while not pressing anyone else). Also, hard to say it is Quinn when the GM hasn't met him. You also have to factor in assistants and what assistants will be available at that point to fill out your coaching staffs as well. You,re point on Quinn not meeting Pace could be the exact reason to wait. If Quinn left big enough of an impression on Accorsi and others and have raved about him then perhaps Pace wants the oopportunity to talk to him. Theres only one other job left and Fox hasn't even been talked about in ATL so I think its safe to say he's not going anywhere. The only problem in waiting is will it make Fox feel slighted and he decides to take a year off. At the end of the day though, its only been a day since he interviewed, I think people should R-E-L-A-X EDIT- And just like that reports are that Pace is in Denver. So this is still ongoing -
