QUOTE (Knuckles @ Nov 29, 2014 -> 01:46 PM) Tim Anderson@TimAnderson7·3 mins3 minutes ago Stay Down Until You Come Up LOL. There was a 100 emoji at the end of that...so "Stay down until you come up 100"....maybe the sad faces had to do with some sort of injury. Or "Stay quiet till you know the deal is 100% legit" -

QUOTE (Al Lopez's Ghost @ Nov 29, 2014 -> 01:41 PM) Not for nothing, but B.J. Upton doesn't look all that great on paper. Am I missing something here? Everyone is hoping for Justin, not BJ -

Just noticed the A's top prospect is a AA SS. Kinda odd they'd be looking at adding another, esp. after adding Barreto. -

Wait a second.... What's Andersons twitter? I'm on @TimAnderson7 and am seeing none of this. -

Can't wait for Punk to swerve everyone and become the new GM (or whatever the "replacement" to HHH is called) and that podcast was just "pipebomb" numero deuce. Really though, the podcast was good stuff. -

QUOTE (flavum @ Nov 29, 2014 -> 12:21 PM) https://twitter.com/RobertMurrayMLB/status/...728489613287425 Child reporter That kid was on MLB network for breaking some deal (If it's not a fake account) so he does know some things. I'd have no problem trading for Shark as I'm confident he'd be resigned. He was really good last year. -
Feels like a fair deal for Donaldsons "Baseball card stats", but when you throw WAR into account and the fact that he's calculated the 3rd most WAR the past 2 years it looks like the A's should have gotten more than the Jays #8 and #13 prospect, an overratted and oft injured Lawrie, and what looks like a real good SP but has only done so in 1 year. REal puzzling deal for the A's IMO.

2014-2015 NFL Football thread

QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Nov 27, 2014 -> 04:56 PM) Not too long ago, Cutler's apologists always came to his defense, blaming everyone but Cutler. I wonder what happened to them... I'm right here...I blame the OL -
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 27, 2014 -> 09:41 PM) White Sox management is sure saying different. GreenSox is convinced that no more moves will be made.

QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Nov 27, 2014 -> 03:28 PM) Why do people still want Alexei traded after we signed LaRoche, which is a clear "win now" move? How do plan to contend by creating a hole at SS? I'm curious how people could think that would work. The thought behind trading Lexi, at least in my mind, is having Semien get more regular ABs. So really were looking at Semien and whoever they get in a trade for Lexi vs Lexi alone. And that all only makes sense if they're trading for a major league LF/SP/3B?, not prospects a year or 2 away.

QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Nov 27, 2014 -> 12:00 PM) I would suggest changing your mind and staying home. Just me though. I have, but only because I read the small print on the deal I was going for. TigerDirect had a 5 dollar tablet (See technology thread for problems with my current tablet) after a 50 dollar mail in rebate buttt you had to get an 80 dollar Mcafee security subscription in order to get the rebate. I'm interested in keeping this thread alive to hear some wild stories though.

First and foremost Happy Thanksgiving everyone. Who's going out Black Friday shopping?? I'm going for the first time and would like some advice from the masses. I'll be going to the Tiger Direct in Hoffman Estates. I'm an Indiana boy and never knew Tiger Direct had an actual store (I've ordered stuff online from there a lot). Anyway, will a place like that have a super long line? Doors open at 5am, what time would you suggest getting there?

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Nov 26, 2014 -> 06:02 PM) Heard another stat on the radio, bears have 18 false starts already versus 9 all of last year. This is with the same 11starters. OL hasn't featured the same 11 starters for most of the year. Also the 3rd WR position isn't the same. -
I'd also like to let you in on perhaps the most amazing thing I've ever made......Leftover cold pulled pork, ya know when its been sitting in the fridge for a day and its all kinda glued together in its fat, form that s*** into a patty and throw that sob in a hot pan and boom, pulled pork burger. Phe..nominal (Jim Rome voice)
-
I'm all about throwing em in a pan because I'm a fatty and love em greasy as funk. Blue cheese, grilled onions, BBQ sauce. Boom....A juicy lucy(cheese on the inside) if I'm feelin frogy. Despite being a fatty McGee I haven't had fast food in quite some time. Often because I'm eating with others and 1 fast food bill would cost about the same as what it would cost to make homemade.

QUOTE (LDF @ Nov 26, 2014 -> 09:06 PM) i wouldn't think so, it was like he was release in his arb yr. If all he's on is a minor league contract then it wouldn't be the worst thing to have him down in AAA. Maybe some time in the minors to build confidence could be a good thing.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 26, 2014 -> 09:33 PM) Belisario cleared and was assigned to Charlotte. How does that work money wise? He doesn't get what he was set to get in arbitration right?

You trade Lexi because you believe Semien or Sanchez can play there...not because you just picked up some JAG on the waiver wire..

I've tried googling this and can't really seem to find an answer...Not sure we have any guys here that might be able to help.... I've got a Proscan tablet that's been giving me a big head ache the last couple days. It all started about 4 or 5 days ago when I noticed a clicking sound and periodically there would be a vertical white line that would go across the screen. It would happen more and more often and then yesterday it the screen went green with a bunch of horizontal lines....The battery life had increasingly gotten worse as well. This morning it actually worked, temporarily so I decided to do the factory reset. It worked for a good 5-6 hours. Then it went out again after more of the same clicking and the lines going across the screen. Now when attempting to turn it on the screen will go black and flash sometimes and other times it will temporarily work before again failing....Now while it was working I just got a screen that looked like a Bill Cosby sweater. Any idea what the problem is?

QUOTE (GreenSox @ Nov 24, 2014 -> 01:12 AM) Not with that defense. And perhaps he will be MVP offensively. Maybe. Still I'd prefer young talent over the contract and personality I can't deny that, BUT, while everyone is talking about the Royals way and their defensive outfield, I can counter that with the Giants, who threw out Mike Morse most of the time and he was one of the 2 guys (Dom Brown the other) who was worse in LF. I think it's somewhat possible that he can look better out there in a smaller OF, with Eaton by his side, and also as he gets increasingly healthy. He'll never be good, or probably even average, but if he brings an All Star level bat I'd still have no problem with him. You'd be banking on him being that MVP/All Star level talent and if he does play up to it his contract wouldn't be THAT bad.
-
QUOTE (GreenSox @ Nov 23, 2014 -> 11:18 PM) Exactly. He WAS a MVP caliber player; today, he's a good hitter. He's trending downward. He's moping in L.A. and has a terrible contract. The Sox just got rid of bad contracts. They don't need someone else's problem. Trade Alexei for the best young talent the Sox can get. A 2nd half that featured a .971 OPS would suggest otherwise and that he's perhaps trending back into that MVP caliber player.

Count me in on the ones "obsessing" over a potential Lexi trade. I think we're gonna be just a tad underwhelmed by the return (Expectations here are out of this world for the most part) but I do think it could improve the team with Semien, Saladino, and Sanchez capable of filling the role.
-
Or perhaps they promote Saladino, a guy who might be underrated, and Diaz is SS in AAA. Between Saladino, Semien, Sanchez, Diaz, and I suppose Garcia there's gotta be a guy there that can be a stopgap rill Anderson comes along.
