  1. I can still see Chambliss bulling his way thru the crowd on the field after a playoff walk off homer. He is managerial insurance with a winning backround and Gary Ward waiting in the wings to be hitting coach again.
  2. I was there Saturday-at that time it looked like the east half of gate 5 towards the outfield is not going to be knocked down.
  3. I believe him about Fields, though. Playing regularly, lets face it, Crede's usual .260 average will be matched easily. Just another way to get a bit younger. I like the commitment.
  4. QUOTE (Reddy @ Oct 28, 2008 -> 08:05 PM) because it's the first interesting thing to happen. and we're bored. You are right-but the degree of interest and discussion is a by-product of previous "finds" by the organization. Wonder if he was on their draft list when he was available back in the day?
  5. QUOTE (DBAHO @ Oct 20, 2008 -> 08:28 AM) Either way, I think Florida is definitely a good team to target in terms of either a starting pitcher of Hermida this off-season. Problem is, every other team probably thinks that as well. And we would have to move fast-which Williams doesnt normally do
  6. One of my favorites too-Wil Bahh Wood Never stopped battling -he's in my team photo of all time Sox greats It'd be great to have a statue of a portly guy like I am
  7. The development of Floyd & Danks eliminates the need to spend big on a SP
  8. Its obviously because Savard missed all those scoring chances his offense set up. Last year of contract-dump him now incase they over achieve again
  9. I heard, in passing as I got ready for work that Griffey Jr had some knee surgery recently. Has anyone heard about this?
  10. I like the idea-I was there many times in 1977-a recovery year after the brief rebirth of the Richie Allen/Chuck Tanner teams. Harry Caray in his hey-day here-those old enough know how we had disappeared from the city's consciousness because of a very popular Cub team and many didnt care if we moved or not until that '77 team-saved the day until we had to go thru it again with Reinsdorf
  11. Was it the longest hit at the Cell this year?
  12. This may be a bad example, but when there's a function or meeting at work and some choose not to go when others are making presentations or have worked hard to make the event happen, it gets noticed. I have had kids graduate HS and have had to sit through ceremony's and hear every kid get name recognition. But there are always a few that once their kid is announced, they leave and it gets noticed. its ignorant. If you are on the team, you support the others that have to work or honor their achievments by being there.
  13. A switch hitter that plays multiple positions-in this era of versatility-Swish is on my team. At some point it may enable you to carry an extra pitcher when needed
  14. QUOTE (daa84 @ Oct 6, 2008 -> 07:40 PM) team option at 2.25 mil or a 150,000 buyout per kalapse's chart...i hope hes gone Yeah there's gotta be a Molina out there somewhere-
  15. It was probably hard for some to get attached to OC who had his own upcoming free agency his obvious motivation most of the season. To his credit, his focus seemed to change as the games became more important. By then, its only understandable that season long resentment could not be repaired with those vested in this team.
  16. I am very proud of our guys, from the GM to the bench players. THe resurgant love affair with the team and fans developed from game one. There's gonna be frustrating stretches, but we love our team. I just wish Sox Fest was accessable to more fans who'd like to show how much we appreciated them up close.
  17. No he wouldnt-Vasquez-even when shakey gave us innings and wasnt far from break even
  18. Try Coppolino's about 4500 W 55th St and the Old reliable Dave Wills hang out TC Pub in Oak Lawn and McNally's 111th & Western
  19. I totally approve of what he did-actually I wished he would have stepped out and asked for time just after it-to irritate that clown even more. Unfortunatly his own emotions made him swing at a bad pitch. But thats Cabrera-an actual visual leader Point is-there was fire there-may it spread to his teammates today.
  20. Richard very impressive-love it Only 1 over .500 vs lefties per Stone
