  1. I have been at 42 of last 43 openers-couldn't go today, but was in Milwaukee Saturday for the game, and going Wednesday. Does it count?
  2. Nothing to create any buzz (Lars Anderson signing excluded) since message boards came about
  3. 25 is fine, we have a built in "practice squad" at triple A. I would like to see additional options avaiable on AAAA players
  4. They know how to kick-start single game ticket sales, don't they.
  5. And depending when the Tigers get those 8 or any additional wins could trigger some deadline moves by us unloading talent which would change everything
  6. Kubel used to hit a ton in our park
  7. Flowers couldn't hit in AAA when he DID get his at bats. A step back for the Bland Sox
  8. A team with no identity or personality just became even more bland. The competitive attitude of AJ wont be replaced and I am glad he was on my side all these years. Blaaaah on this Hahn. All you looking for drop off will be disappointed
  9. I enjoyed watching him. He gave us the elusive production from 2 spot and clearly took 1 year with Yankees to fatten up stats in that band box and get more next year
  10. Just worry about his defense at 3rd with all our LHP
  11. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Dec 5, 2012 -> 09:05 AM) Yeah, but I'm not trying to act like I have sources. I just won't be surprised with anything regarding those 2 positions except if they went Flowers/Gimenez and Morel/Hannahan. That would shock me. And put us in 4th place
  12. QUOTE (GoGoSox2k2 @ Dec 4, 2012 -> 09:44 AM) D'Backs aggressively shopping Justin Upton Bob Nightengale of USA Today reports that the Diamondbacks have been very aggressive shopping Justin Upton at the Winter Meetings, but that nobody has stepped up to give them a frontline shortstop. Source: Bob Nightengale on Twitter Why do I still have this feeling that we make a run at Upton, althought I just dont think we give up Alexei. Also, says many teams are interested in Mike Olt from the Rangers. Do we have any pieces/chance to go after him besides Sale? He would like amazing at the hot corner for the next 10+ years. One can dream Beckham came up as a shortstop
  13. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Dec 4, 2012 -> 12:02 AM) It's a loaded question and he answered it honestly. I have no problem with his answer whatsoever. No problem at all-he sees what starting catchers make. Actually if we resign AJ, what trade bait Flowers would be-might be one of our best trade options for a good return.
  14. Way to offset the Toronto deal and Hunter signing
  15. 19 games against us? His figures will rise. Take AJ from our lineup and we dont even look competitive
  16. Good Luck-maybe he will suggest they trade for Thornton
  17. He's as good as gone, and it will be a sad day. Keeping him is worth the money. No one around seems to be one play ahead in the game like AJ. I like a guy who gets mad when he don't get a hit, gives you good at bats when it is needed, and can be counted on to play every day. Sorry, but Flowers does not have those intangibles, and we take another step back at a vital position without AJ.
  18. GM meetings in about 2 weeks-I am anxious to see/hear his visibility there. He could be approached about some of our young pitching.
  19. QUOTE (ewokpelts @ Oct 25, 2012 -> 10:22 AM) And where do you think the state will get 40 million topay for that? Your idea also means removing the roof and re attaching it to new struts. You asked for a suggestion-didn't put a price tag on it. This is not the original roof-it was changed before
  20. Take out the last 2 rows of upper deck seats and build a walkway up there with a few concession stands that would be easier to access from the mid to high seats in the upper deck. It would be a nice walk around too, great view and in no one's way that is sitting down. In a way, like old comiskey with stands at the top of upper deck, though those were behind a wall.
