In typical KW fashion, will his big offseason move be A-Rod?
klaus kinski replied to caulfield12's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I don't want Robin burdened with a "celebrity" like him -
how would YOU fix the sox attendance woes?

Parking should not be more than the seats. However, this may succeed in selling more 7 and 10 type game packages. They heard us -
Again unaffordable and unavailable to curious fans that could "buy in" if they could go without spending $400 plus meals. This could actually be included in the attendance thread

And they should have built the Metra Station on the tracks WEST of the park. Easier to get to, and connections to other UNION Station trains to go North & West would be available. Those are areas it is hard to drive from. -

Lower parking & concessions. The experience starts in the parking lot-you are out $25 before you turn off the car. Come after work with the family without supper and have to buy it? This after buying tickets? See how much that costs. It just gets the event off to a bad start. This results in many "one game a year" type nights. -
He will stay-Hahn's first big popular move, but it will cost Youkilis and AJ. Then Dunn comes off next year and Floyd signed then. Pitching counts
-
Guys with career years AJ and Rios have to be A. Thornton a D is a good call
-
The clock is ticking and you gotta enjoy what you do......had nothing to do with the team but clearly he isn't coming back

This was a fun season, best of both-veterans playing to expectations and youth coming out of nowhere to make us more than competitive. My hope is a philosophy change on pitching aggressively to these .230 and .240 hitters that seem to beat us every night.

QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 28, 2012 -> 09:49 PM) Thornton coming in? Not against lefty. Hope they ph for Scott -
They flat are not speaking to each other this whole broadcast. Doing their own commentaries without the other referring to it.

QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Sep 28, 2012 -> 09:50 AM) We need more hit for average contact players. All these guys swinging for the fences is absolutely pathethic. There are only two players that should be doing that at this point and that's Dunn and Konerko if the man can ever find his power. This was tried when we dumped guys like Thome-which led to signing Adam Dunn

An ace-type good bye performance for home fans -
It has been gut wrenching but enjoyable-pleasant surprises from farm system players, great comeback years from Rios & Dunn, AJ's career year, and interest right to the end. This despite no John Danks and injuries to Floyd. I have been taking it all in, and am proud of this team. Just sad not to be playing well at the end.

"Walk Up" which is the difference between good attendance and the "announced advance tickets" announced everyday is destroyed by $25 to park and then the constantly increasing food prices in the park. I downplay the ticket price excuse-you can sit where you want at these games, and I frankly would buy a better ticket if those other 2 albatross issues were made more affordable. $10 to park-at the most and close to $10 just for a bad hot dog & fries is inconsiderate pricing. Things like corned beef, the beef brisket, and those loaded taco-type salads should cost more. But there is no give on the other things like a simple hot dog-a burger-or fries.

GAME. THREAD. 9/13 Detroit @ White Sox

I don't recall any KC player being brushed back or even shown a message not to dig in

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 7, 2012 -> 01:50 PM) Speaking for myself, I believe it to be extremely disingenuous to erase something from the record like that. It happened, and it was talked about. It was a big news story. What exactly does acting like it never happened achieve? It doesn't protect AJ, as the story is still out there, even if Soxtalk were to delete or hide the thread. I think it makes this place a more honest and respectable site to be able to say what happened at each stage of the story, instead of acting like the old Soviet Union acting like a Premier never existed. This This and This

QUOTE (Iwritecode @ Sep 7, 2012 -> 09:55 AM) This story doesn't surprise me one bit. The rules have never applied to the mods. It's like they are trying to drive away their posters. Many of them long-timers. Also in his mind, Daver is never, ever wrong. He is the reason I stopped posting there too-he is infallable (in his world)

He is-innovative, copied, entertaining, and has opinionated insights about the way the game is played that actually create thought when you are watching. "It's all good."
