  1. 1. I like the move 2. Be aware that the Reinsdorf retirement nest egg is being laid
  2. If that happened-there could be 3 ex Sox starters on the Phillies-assuming that the 2 we sent for Thome make it
  3. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Dec 5, 2006 -> 01:49 PM) According to ESPN 1000 Alex Rodriguez was not discussed last night during the Cashman/Williams talks. It was strickly Sox SP for Yankees RP being talked about. I'd imagine names like Farnsworth and Myers were mentioned when discussing Yankees relievers which makes little sense to me. How about No sense
  4. My Pablo hi lite-the bunt against Oakland to win the game
  5. QUOTE(iamshack @ Dec 5, 2006 -> 10:14 AM) That reminds me of Danny Noonan and DeNunzio in Caddyshack. "I ain't payin' no fifty cents for no Coke." "Then you ain't gettin' no Coke, eh." Well, it seems that Minyana would rather offer Zito the $ than trade his top 3 prospects for Mark, so maybe that is what happened. As for ARod, I doubt that he would block a trade here. This is the PERFECT place for him to play, second only to maybe LAA. If you think what Ozzie said about him really bothers him, remember what the Yankee fans and the NY media did to him the final 3 months or so of the season... Even if they sign Zito, the Mets need a #2 starter-thats where we come in. It would just not be Buehrle
  6. Without stud young pitching, we are simply going to have to pay up to have quality pitching
  7. QUOTE(fathom @ Dec 5, 2006 -> 10:04 AM) There's only one problem with the Yanks trade....ARod doesn't want to waive his no-trade clause. It's too bad Ozzie had to open his big mouth last offseason. I wish our baserunners ran like his mouth
  8. Florida deserves to be in game against Ohio State-their ONLY loss was on a terrible officals call-and played more top 10 teams than anyone else-teams in rankings when they played them, Tennessee, Auburn, Georgia, LSU, and Arkansas. Beat bowl bound FSU and South Carolina too.
  9. I was watching the Boston Bruins & Maple Leafs on NESN last night-there a constant crawl on screen with news about this possible signing with quotes from team president saying it will get done and the jerk Boras commenting about a fair deal and looking elsewhere if no agreement made.
  10. Tribune is definatly selling that team-that cinches it
  11. QUOTE(3E8 @ Nov 27, 2006 -> 11:08 PM) Best news I've heard in awhile. ONLY news I've heard in awhile
  12. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Nov 27, 2006 -> 03:49 PM) For all the s*** thrown at Levine, he's far more reputable than the guys at the Score. I'll wait until I hear confirmation from somebody that doesn't work at 670 before I even begin to think this has a remote chance of happening. I completly agree
  13. I am glad we have stood still to this point-but I hope there is a plan to improve our 3rd place team
  14. Lots of hitting in that division, except for Pittsburgh, and zilch pitching
  15. Well, the decent CF's are all being signed while we sleep-Crawford is about all thats left-with likely a rising price tag
  16. We were world champs in 2005-changed 8 places on roster and finished third. We all believed the team last year was a repeat team. Wholesale changes AGAIN are not the answer-a few holes need to be filled-lets just fill them with quality players
  17. I wonder what the plan is though, because with all the signings, we apparently are not involved in anything . It bugs me that we have to trade for similar players other teams get without losing players. We gain by losing-and that costs depth.
  18. That Hendry is such a ZERO-just hear him talk-only makes me sick an idiot has an open checkbook Murton would help us in our vs. left handed problems, would he not?
  19. They just spend without a plan-, and that is one pregnant payroll with zilch pitching
  20. With or without this stupid move, no one outside of the Florida Marlins ever dismantled a championship team faster than Ken Williams
  21. According to Levine, our getting Griffey Jr in 2005 was all but done too
  22. QUOTE(fathom @ Nov 16, 2006 -> 11:31 AM) I'll say this: Aardsma is better than Tracey. Aardsma's problem is that he overthrows. I'm just disappointed because I thought Cotts would have brought in better value than he did. Left handed relief is probably second most desired commodity in MLB-and we dont get much for an established pitcher. My guess is they return Cotts to starter-because they already have Eyre and Howry-a complete Sox bullpen
  23. Sign Pierre-keep BA as 4th OF and late inning defense
  24. ESPN reports he has agreed to 3 year deal with the Cubs. The reports says 3 years for 13 million. At least they are busy-but this guy had 1 good year and they give that kind of $ away.
