Sox Acquire All-Star 3B Todd Frazier from Reds in 3 team deal

QUOTE (fathom @ Dec 16, 2015 -> 05:33 PM) This is just comical: JONATHAN GRAFF @JLGPROD 2h2 hours ago Did the #Whitesox give up too much young talent for Todd Frazier? #WhiteSoxTalk -best answers at 6pm on @CSNChicago I literally haven't heard one negative comment in the Chicago media about Theo's moves so far. Amazing how Trayce Thompson went from a mid-level prospect to the next sure thing. Not only that, I'm sure 90% of the Chicago media didn't even watch a Sox game in the last two months. Right now I'll take Frazier for what we gave up instead of Heyward for $26 mil for his first 3 years with the Scrubs! So far RH has done just fine! -
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Dec 16, 2015 -> 01:11 PM) My reaction was what is next? I am no prospect lover, but they have to keep going if they are trying to win. They cannot stop here, or they lose the trade. If they do and fall short, whether you love Trayce, Micah, and Montas, hate them or are indifferent, it makes no sense to trade them for a guy who will be around 2 years, if you are going to be a .500 or so team. You need to do whatever you can to get into the playoffs. Now it is about spending some money. Spend it JR. Get the guy that will take you over the top, and melt the doom and gloomers like the Wicked Witch of the West. Then it is a huge White Sox win. Nice post. Sox need to do more now!

QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Dec 16, 2015 -> 02:57 PM) That's the route I would take. One thing no one has brought up is the difficulty the Sox may have in signing Upton. As a few of us have mentioned, signing a back loaded deal for a FA OF is probably the only way the Sox can bring a high priced player on. As we've seen recently, the bigger names are looking for opt-outs after year 3 or 4, and I'm sure at 26 years old Upton is looking for that. I would be. So not paying a ton in Year 1 is going to create a problem for the Sox. Upton will be 29 in August -

QUOTE (greg775 @ Dec 16, 2015 -> 02:56 PM) "Everybody?" There's a good chance Trayce and Micah will be playing major roles on big league teams this season. I wanted Frazier. I got Frazier. But I don't know why I'm the bad guy for merely suggesting the Sox overpaid. Would you do the Shark trade all over again? I wouldn't. I'm not anti Sox or anti Frazier. I WANTED Frazier. I could be wrong. Maybe it took all 3 of those specific names to get Frazier. Why say without a doubt, unequivocally, this is the greatest thing to ever take place? I'm thrilled we got Frazier and the Lawrie/Frazier duo figure to spice up the offensive potential of the infield so much. Add Lexi and I'd buy season tickets if I lived in Chicago. It'd be worth the risk that the team is a contender (with bounceback years from Melky, LaRoche, the new catcher duo crucial to playoffs). I don't understand the love fest for Micah. Not even sure he would have played any role on the White Sox this season. -

QUOTE (Hawkfan @ Dec 16, 2015 -> 12:54 PM) Improvement at a fair price. Good trade. Farm developing complainers can go to another thread, please. I'll second that!! Please go!! I like what RH is doing!! -

QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Dec 16, 2015 -> 11:52 AM) @courtney883 I have also heard from many credible sources that the #WhiteSox are still not done. A move in the outfield could be next. If I am Upton or Cespedes do I now think that the Chicago White Sox might not be too bad a team to go play for? Of course $$$ still matters. -

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Dec 16, 2015 -> 11:33 AM) The one thing that does scare me about this is that Frazier seems like the exact guy that will completely fall apart here but it's worth the risk with the package of players we gave up. I'm thinking positive!! Our allstar third baseman! -
Viable Trade Candidates That Wont Cost Anderson or Fulmer?

QUOTE (PorkChopExpress @ Dec 15, 2015 -> 02:46 PM) What about Adrian Beltre? Only one year left on his contract, and the Rangers have Joey Gallo ready to take over for him. Joey Gallo? Wasn't he in "My Cousin Vinnie"? -
QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Dec 15, 2015 -> 02:04 PM) He'll get more years and money than that. I guarantee it. Upton, Frazier or both? Coming down from the high of yesterday and feeling bummed today. Wish the Sox would make a move!

QUOTE (Dunt @ Dec 15, 2015 -> 07:30 AM) Might be dumb, but it's something to think about nonetheless: Sox are always slow out of the gate and Justin Upton seems to always put up solid numbers in April and May: April .277/.357/.529 May .279/.366/.490 June .269/.366/.409 July .273/.340/.479 August .280/.356/.500 Sept/Oct .250/.322/.434 Scrubs unveil Heyward. Good day to sign Upton!!

QUOTE (spiderman @ Dec 14, 2015 -> 08:42 PM) Why couldn't that happen? The White Sox aren't trading Quintana in a Frazier deal in all probability. I'm just saying if we were to acquire Upton and Frazier and not lose Q would be great. Wasn't sure it really was a debatable statement!

QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Dec 14, 2015 -> 07:03 PM) Jurickson Profar is my dream SS acquisition. Is Profar finally healthy? I know a few years ago he was a highly regarded prospect. He hasn't played in the bigs since 2013 and wonder about his health.

QUOTE (Vance Law @ Dec 14, 2015 -> 03:11 PM) Gordon will get 5 years, around $100 million. I'd be happy if Sox went for that. Anyone worried about Gordon being 32 this year? Just wondering?
-
QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Dec 14, 2015 -> 06:35 PM) No, and I hope it doesn't affect their plan. Does anyone other than JR and the FO really know what is their plan? Maybe this is the plan.
-
QUOTE (EvilJester99 @ Dec 14, 2015 -> 03:48 PM) Wonder now if LA doesn't reach out to the Sox about Q. Would be nice if the Sox could add Frazier and Upton and not have Q involved.
-
QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Dec 14, 2015 -> 06:08 PM) That's where I'm at. I really think it'll be both or neither. Both Upton and Frazier would be a great Christmas present for Sox fans. Anyone think the northside moves might be a factor in JR and the FO thinking seriously about these moves?
-
QUOTE (WhiteSoxLifer @ Dec 14, 2015 -> 06:05 PM) Or both Both Frazier and Upton! Now that would be exciting!
-
QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Dec 14, 2015 -> 04:02 PM) Cespedes to the Angels. Gordon to the Cardinals. O's resign Parra and Davis. White Sox sign Upton. Am I crazy to be getting excited the Sox might do something with Frazier or Upton?

QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Dec 14, 2015 -> 11:18 AM) Chris Cotillo @ChrisCotillo 3m3 minutes ago Minor-league signings: JP Arencibia to Phillies, Hector Sanchez to White Sox. Not the signing I am waiting for.

QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Dec 13, 2015 -> 05:28 PM) Hopefully we hear some whispers of the Sox being interested. Not to be negative but, I'll bet not.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Dec 13, 2015 -> 12:46 PM) Teams don't try to lose, it is what it is The Cubs did.
-
QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Dec 13, 2015 -> 09:13 AM) Last I read Alvarez was projected 8.1M and Carter at 5.6M. There's really no reason for the Brewers to even be curious about LaRoche. Sox fans just need to accept he will be with the Sox next season. Maybe the Brewers will follow the cubs rebuild plan of losing on purpose and do everything possible to lose. If that is the case they could use LaRoche.

QUOTE (WBWSF @ Dec 13, 2015 -> 07:57 AM) If Johnson comes through for the team in 2016 the White Sox can have one of the best rotations in MLB. Sale, Quintana, Rodon and Johnson is a very good rotation to have. If Fulmer does well the first part of 2016 in the Minor Leagues he might become the 5th starter by the All Star break. Why waste this type of pitching? As Bill Veeck once said "The future is Now". Acquire at least one more big bat through free agency (Upton) and hopefully the team will score enough runs to get the team into the 2016 Playoffs. If Hahn is expecting La Roche to bat cleanup for the team and be productive it's going to be another long season the South Side of Chicago. Hahn has added 2 catchers and a third baseman. He has upgraded those 2 positions. The team should be better offensively with those 3 players. The team needs one more big bat. Lets do it this offseason. LaRoche. We have hearsd speculation that last year LaRoche had a hand injury. True or not? If he did and will be healed this year we can hope for improvement from his bat. We can hope but there must also be that backup plan. I would still like to see the addition of Upton but again, will the FO be allowed to spend the big bucks? ,

QUOTE (bmags @ Dec 12, 2015 -> 04:27 PM) I would say that there is a strange sentiment on the score right now of not knowing that Eaton actually had a pretty good year. I quit listening to that station about 6 months ago. The weekend or second string guys are mostly cub fans and that's all they would talk about. If I want Sox news I come here. Why waste time listening to them. Quit listening and you won't regret it!
