  1. I am going to start writing a Chicago Cubs farmers almanac, but I need your help for ideas. First they lose Wood, then Prior, then Nomar, then Derek Lee, and now Soriano and Aramis. So who and when will the next big name player the Cubs get get injured? I am saying that in 2009, Chicago Cubs 3rd baseman Alex Rodriguez will break his leg while leaving the Cubby Bear after a long night of drinking when the Cubs miss the playoffs for the 6th year in a row. Any other ideas?

  3. I hate Michael Barrett... I also hate any Twins or Tiger fans...Especially Tiger fans b/c they all this they are a dynasty...Well they got SWEPT in the world series! Nobody remembers the loser from the WS!
  4. I actually just called the Indians ticket office and they said that the game is going to be held in Cleveland as of right now. If anything changes, then the games will be in Milwaukee.
  5. I heard on the news today that the Sox weekend series against the Indians could be moved up to Milwaukee again. Has anyone heard anything else like if it's for sure or how much tickets are?
  6. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Apr 9, 2007 -> 10:01 PM) No....I expect the Sox to leave Oakland with a .500 record. whats .500 in 3 games?
  7. Why not sweep? The A's arent that good, and I think we have actually shown quite a bit...If our starters can get it together, we will be fine...our hitting and baserunning I have been happy with...The only disapointment is how many innings our starters have been pitching...
  8. where is sizemore? he's the best all around player in the central...
  9. 5 or more...but i already have two games and the first one is sox at cubs on may 18 so if they win that, i dont care how many more i go to..best regular season games to go to...
  10. I was watching the game today and saw some dude named Adam Russell throwing. He looked pretty good. He has an above average fastball, a great slider, and a pretty good change. Has he been throwing well this whole spring and is he in the hunt for the 5th spot?
  11. Gentlemen, don't you feel like we have all been a little hard on Brian Anderson? He's not that bad. Granted, he was awful the first half of the season, but the second half he hit .257. Not great, but not that bad for a rookie who nobody was expecting anything out of at the plate. Plus, he's a great center fielder. It's hard to find anyone who can get to the ball like BA. We just need a 9 hitter to hit around .250 or .260 anyways. But I just feel like we should keep BA and let him grow here. I've seen him to things in the field that impress me. He needs to become more patient at the plate, but that will come. He's doing pretty well in spring training so far, but lets see if that continues into the regular season. Anywho, lets give BA one more year before we run him out of town.
  12. I think Danks will get the starting job. I feel like he is showing more in spring training than Floyd is. He has more control and his curve ball is amazing. I would really like to see him get the 5th spot, but I have been saying that since we got him...
  13. So far its not that big of a deal. Jenks said that there is no pain, he just needs to stretch it out more. The tightness has been there since the start of spring training, he's just not loose yet. It's nothing to worry about, and he said he wont miss a game.
  14. I think the atmosphere is cool at wrigley, but I dont think its a good place to watch a game. 2/3 of the Cubs "fans" arent there to watch the game, they are there to drink beer at wrigley...fenway is way better than wrigley....
  15. i got four sox-cubs tickets at wrigley...i hate wrigley, but love to see the sox win there...
  16. QUOTE(WilliamTell @ Feb 22, 2007 -> 03:39 PM) I won't believe a big year until I see it. Its hard to feel a big year from Javy. Hopefully we can get 12+ wins from him...I'll be happy if he goes above a 500 record...
  17. Boys, I need some help. I play in a fantasy keeper league. I cant decide between Dan Haren and Andy Pettitte to keep? Who should I go with?!
  18. QUOTE(Jimbo @ Feb 5, 2007 -> 04:16 PM) Iguchi Iguchi will NEVER lead off for us...They dont like him even batting 2nd, but its the best fit for the team right now...if pods is hurt, im sure erstad will bat lead off...
  19. Gentlemen...We will win the Central....Nobody should worry about the Indians...They're awful!...They may play good for like a month, but thats it...they do it every year...then they blow....the Tigers will be our biggest competitors, but there is no way they will be as good as last year...especially in pitching...Verlander is the best they have...and the sox destroyed the Tigers in the season series last year...It will be a battle between us and detroit, and we'll pull out a central title by 5 games or more...
  20. mlbtraderumors.com is like the Weekly World News of sports writing...this makes National Enquirer look good....
  21. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jan 10, 2007 -> 10:41 PM) Right now I'd say the Tigers are tops followed by the Sox and Indians tied for second with the Indians maybe taking a slight edge. THE INDIANS HAVE THE EDGE!?!?....
  22. After last season, it is obviously the Tigers. But, I am not expecting ALL of their pitchers to have career years again. Rogers is 42 and should stop cheating and finally retire. Bonderman and Verlander were they only two pitchers they have that really impress me. Our bullpen for next blows them away on paper. I am comfortable with our rotation. Buehrle WILL have a good year 18+ in wins. Maybe even a great year. Garland and Contreras will also have good years and I feel both will have over 15 wins. Vazquez just needs to keep getting K's and eat innings. Our 5th spot is up for grabs. Floyd, Danks or whoever fills in just needs to be an innings eater. Even if they have a 5 era, and around a .500 record, I'll be pleased. The Twins dont have a rotation unless Santana can make 162 starts. So, right now the Tigers have the edge, but at the end of the season the sox will win the division and have the better rotation and bullpen.
  23. So what the hell is going on with our team? We're losing some starting pitching, and now maybe even our short stop?! Is anyone else worried, or confused? Or we all should just cool our jets and wait to see how our boys perform in spring training. We know our bullpen is probably one of, if not the best, in the AL. I'm actually not too awfully worried about our starting pitching. Only the 5th spot. But, hopefully we'll find a way to put someone quality in there. Our lineup is going to be among the best again, because I feel Pods and Anderson will have better years. Right now, Im a little worried, but not too bad. What do you guys think?
  24. I heard that both guys could be here for a short time and then shipped off...Its just rumor, but who knows...
  25. So who are they going to bring into start? I heard about the knuckle-baller from triple-a and i guess he sounds pretty good. Or will they give McCarthy a few starts. I would like to see McCarthy, but i dont know whats going on, so if anyone has some news on that, tell me...thanks
