  1. It will probably be a good while before I invest anything emotionally, and especially financially into this team. I'd turn down free scout seats, if offered. I'll catch some games on the radio, just because I enjoy Farmio's call and I don't think he'll be around much longer, but that's about the extent of it. Really just not in the mood to hear Benetti's voice trying to spin this dumpster fire/act like it's not right there for everyone to see- will absolutely not be tuning in for that garbage. For the first time in forever, I don't know when opening day is, and don't care. If this rebuild becomes baseball's version of the Chicago Bulls, I'm done with the team, at the very least until the miser and the two jackasses are gone- but it would take a lot to wash the taste of shit out of my mouth.
  2. I hope Bryce has some friends and family seeking MLB roster spots that Hahn can still add to his collection.
  3. Why? They'd probably just end up giving away the next Tatis and wind up with another Swisher. This org's talent evaluation is pure shit.
  4. I bet there are still more of Machado's friends and family out there. Gotta catch em all.
  5. Benetti not being able to ride his lame ass three Garcias schtick for literally half a game would be one positive.
  6. And then low-ball him when it comes time for an extension.
  7. There is nothing they can do to make this situation any better other than standing pat with the garbage they have already collected (essentially, they should SHUT THE FUCK UP and not make things worse than they already are). Signing more of it to go along with Alonso and Jay will not make this shit more watchable. Adding CarGo or Jones (or fucking Denard Span!!!!!!) is the equivalent of struggling in quicksand while trying to get out. Every new signing is just another twist of the knife. What are you going to flip any of these bums for at the deadline? One of those coupon cards that they hand out to you if you get to the game early enough?
  8. This team should just stop. What the fuck are they thinking? It feels a little like my pet bunny rabbit dying again each time another horrifying headline rears it's terrible face. Jay, Alonso, pathetically missing on Machado, Ervin Santana, and now Denard fucking Span.
  9. I feel like the accomplishments of this offseason would be a fireable offense on a team with competent ownership (Alonso and Jay alone should be). Instead, Jerry may well be pleased with how things shook out for his wallet, even if they could have spent less holding on to what they had (it would be bad optics, albeit preferable IMO to how things ended up, for them to stand pat entirely).
  10. It certainly isn't- not with Adam Jones still out there!
  11. Disappointment and delicate tip-toeing around the truth.
  12. It wouldn't be terribly surprising. We "tried", now bugger off, whiny ass fanbase. It certainly wouldn't be a new trick from this front office. Why has any mention of Harper been replaced by tumbleweeds? That money was supposedly going to be spent. I recognize Machado was the better long-term fit, but Harper improves your lineup as well.
  13. Haven't really had a chance to vent my frustrations. I came into this offseason very skeptical about landing either of the two prize free agents. Years of bullshit from the front office- be it falling just short on past potential free agent acquisitions, cashing in hard earned (via tears of Sox fans), high draft picks on pure garbage at a nearly 100% clip, and to this point, a rebuild that doesn't look promising at all. Why, anyway, were the keys to a rebuild given to the stupid fucking clowns that drove the car into a tree in the first place? That is something that had worried me from day one. The Machado outcome hurts because we were told it would be different, and it ended up being exactly the same. Now they're wearing egg on their face in the form of Jon fucking Jay and Yonder Alonso! They deserve it, and even though it hurts me as a fan, I'm glad to see this group of schmucks (the front office) fail, because they deserve nothing more. I'm not done with this team yet- I'm 32, and I have no idea how to be anything other than a White Sox fan. The thing that troubles me is my indifference. I don't give a shit about pitchers and catchers reporting (lol what pitchers? what catchers?), or spring training. I don't know or care when Opening Day is, and I certainly don't plan on attending it, or any other game this year- even though I could probably do so for $5. I've got a nephew and a Godson that will grow up Cub fans, and I can thank the fucking imbeciles that constitute our ownership and front office. How could I possibly forgive baseball's version of GarPax for that? I won't find another team- I'll just gradually continue drifting away from baseball in general. Apologies for the profanity. Thought that maybe letting it sink in would dampen the hurt. It has not.
  14. Agreed, but even then, what will those 15 minutes of fame honestly get them? This entire "insider" thing is really fucking pathetic. Oh, you know where someone will sign for hundreds of millions of dollars, not a cent of which will go to you? You have a sauce? Awesome! It's like barnacles hitching a ride on the bottom of the fucking Titanic. Parasites.
