I literally jumped out of my seat when Edge's music hit. This was a great rumble IMO. From Punk's run in the beginning to the beginning of the DX/Cena story up until Edge hit the ring, it kept me interested the entire time. Mainly because a lot of guys were given good rubs & it made the outcome better. Now for WM, I'd book HBK/'Taker II & Jericho/Edge. At the next PPV, HBK becomes so desperate to get his match, he screws 'Taker in the EC. Jericho benefits from this & you have two very good matches for your main events.

QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ Jan 31, 2010 -> 06:39 PM) Here's the problem, as I interpret it -- she wants everything to go her way, even at your expense. She wants to pursue this other dufus, meanwhile, have you as a safety net if the relationship never works out. There's a saying that women are like monkeys, in that they'll never let go of one branch until the other is secure. I notice people, when seeking relationship advice, often believe their situation is unique, and maybe if we knew the nuances of their relationship we'd think differently. Breakup scenarios are always different, but people are fundamentally the same. I know you haven't said as much Wite, but keep in mind (in case you are thinking this way), that she dumped you. In your original post, it's almost as if you're blaming yourself for the breakup because you were a piece of s*** and not participating in extracurricular activities. This is where people may reply, "well, it goes beyond that, there are many other things I did," but all you're doing is putting the blame on yourself. She knew when she began dating you, two years ago, the type of person you were. You're in college, for christs sake. It's a convenient excuse, but I have a feeling no matter what you would have done with your life she would have looked elsewhere. Hell, for all you know this other guy is a complete bum. Think of all the pieces of s*** out there who are dating someone with no job, no career aspirations, nothing really to wake up for. Also, consider this -- she dumped you because you weren't involved enough in the world for her liking, in addition to being a piece of s***; as you put it. If she thinks this way, what would happen five years in the future if say you're laid off from your job? Would you worry that she'd leave you, or that she'd supportive? I suppose it doesn't matter, really, because I just think this whole 'getting your life straightened out' is crap and she's at the age where the pastor is greener in the single life. Wite, the most important issue here is that you can't let her know she can run back and forth between other guys and you, and that you'll always be there. I've always made it very clear that I don't do 'breaks' or give 'second chances.' One girl I was considering dating actually argued with me about this rule, and I told her thanks for saving me a lot of time; goodbye. To this day I still will receive random text messages from her asking what I'm doing tonight, or we should hang out. I can be a complete asshole, but I don't let women walk over me. If you told you girl tomorrow, "if you ever try this again, I won't be there waiting," and she flips out, consider it a sign that it's still on her mind and that you're bound to go through the same heartache again. Realest post I've read about this situation thus far.

Not too shabby of a card thus far, with the actual RR match being next I'm excited.

QUOTE (Brian @ Jan 31, 2010 -> 05:36 PM) I want an open like this tonight. I would push my mom down the stairs just for the music alone.

QUOTE (zenryan @ Jan 31, 2010 -> 02:43 PM) StrikeForce isnt big enough yet to have 40% of their card filled with new guys fighting bums. And then throw in the women's fight and that makes it 60% crap. One fight on a card is tolerable I guess. When is Roger Gracie going to be used? I guess he's dropping to 205 but lets get him out there already. Atleast the CBS show in April will be good. Fedor-Werdum Henderson-Shields Mousasi-Lawal rumoured. So they're gonna maybe throw King Mo to the wolves eh? Fine by me.

Strikeforce tonight was entertaining. Lashley showed nothing in running over Wes Sims, it's time for a step up in competition. Holy s*** Robbie Lawler. He pulled a serious KO out of his ass there. Walker looked good, but then again it seemed that I had as much skill as the guy he was facing... I was getting my pizza out of the oven during the women's fight. But from what I saw, another dominant performance by Cyborg. Diaz & Zaromskis went in there & scrapped. Diaz's boxing was just too much.

We really should make you kids a completely different thread for this ISU/U of I nonsense. -
Giordano's Also Ian's in Wrigleyville is a good spot for a late night slice. Harold's Chicken Shack Standing Room Only in the south loop. There's this mexican joint right next to the Sheridan red line stop that I have no idea what the name is, but I know it's my favorite place to get tacos & chips & salsa.

QUOTE (SoxFan562004 @ Jan 30, 2010 -> 05:13 PM) In my many years of watching wrestling, the best match I've ever seen was when Flair came in at either one or two and won it, it was tremendous and Bobby The Brain's commentary makes it epic I'd definitely say that was the best Rumble ever.

QUOTE (NIUSox @ Jan 29, 2010 -> 12:53 PM) My brother and sister live outside of Raleigh where the Hurricanes play and there is supposed to be a big snowstorm there tonight and tomorrow. Anywhere from 6 in to a foot. Considering that last year my brother said that they canceled classes at NC State last year for 2 in, I don't think that the stands are going to be too crowded tomorrow in Carolina. He was going to go but now he doesn't know because he doesn't want to risk driving with all the people who have no idea how to drive in snow. Tell Ben that if he was cool, he'd drive in the storm...

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jan 28, 2010 -> 12:32 AM) Posts like this really annoy me. Well, no... you WONT take Amare, because it is with 100% certainty that he gets a max deal. So you just made a completely contradictory post that was a waste of everyone's time. Actually I WILL take Amare, not just for a max deal. Sorry I wasted everyone's time. Honestly, stop acting like a b**** & keep it moving. QUOTE (CryptviLL @ Jan 28, 2010 -> 12:57 PM) Little bit of a spoiler I like it. -

QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Jan 27, 2010 -> 10:23 PM) I want no part of Amare. Bosh or bust. I'll take Amare. You'd be foolish to make him the "man" however. I also wouldn't give him max money, I'm sure some team will though. -
QUOTE (NIUSox @ Jan 27, 2010 -> 09:48 PM) This thing isn't gonna be useful until you are able to pull things off of a computer screen and right onto the pad like in Avatar. Nerd. Anywho, if I were in the market for something like this the lack of ability to multi-task is what will turn me off from this. I usually like to have music playing while I'm working on something. That & a camera for teleconferencing would of been nice. I'm sure Apple will release another upgraded one in about a year or so.

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jan 27, 2010 -> 08:29 PM) Here's a good Sam Smith piece on what Kirk does to this team. http://blogs.bulls.com/chicago_bulls_blog/...turnaround.html LeBron to Clippers: Not only would ESPN crap themselves with joy, but the Clippers could be a #2 seed with LeBron. Heck their current roster (outside LeBron) is already a lot better than the Cavs, and the potential is there when Griffin gets out from the Clipper Curse. The Clippers would have to free up just a little bit more cap room. I don't mean to bash, but LeBron isn't going to the Clippers. He knows better than that. 1. it's the Clippers. 2. He'd be in Kobe's shadow there.
