  1. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 18, 2008 -> 01:58 AM) I would not be pleased to go 2-4 in the series. That would be lousy. 3-3 would be acceptable, though we'd lose ground to our red-hot Detroit rivals in doing so. I mean winning two of three at home and losing 2 of 3 at Wrigley is about the best we can hope for. 4-2 would be great. 5-1 awesome. We ain't gonna go 6-0. 0-6 would be a great big bummer and likely end our season. why aren't we gonna go 6-0.. this team is ridiculously streaky.. if they hit their stride both weekends, it's completely possible. I know it's unlikely, just saying, let's go in shooting for 6-0, while expecting 3-3, anything better is a bonus, anything worse is a punch in the gut.
  2. QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ Jun 18, 2008 -> 05:52 AM) It's never a time to be cocky with the hot and cold bats of this team. Rox should have been a cakewalk as well. Now, let's see them take the next two and I'll feel a little more upbeat going into the weekend – especially of TB can take at least oen more from the northsiders. I believe he was referencing the fact that the Cubs have played the Pirates something like 9 times already this year. Either way.. like someone said, nothing like playing Kansas City or Pittsburgh to right a ship.
  3. JD has been making a lot of catches like that this year.. kind of fun to watch.
  4. If they keep this hitting up, even if they cool down a bit.. this team is going to cause some MAJOR waves
  5. QUOTE (bmags @ Jun 6, 2008 -> 07:20 PM) you know, i'm havin a hard enough time liking Ocab, and now to throw in he loves nickelback? Get rid of this guy. agreed.. I noticed that when I was at the games this year.. i was sitting there thinking "seriously? Nickelback?" dump him.
  6. QUOTE (Controlled Chaos @ Jun 6, 2008 -> 01:46 PM) So it's Hinsdale? I can confirm that he lives in Hinsdale.
  7. Thome is always all around the Downers Grove-Willowbrook-Hinsdale-LaGrange area.. I said in a different thread that he often goes to the Jimmy John's in Darien on 75th street. He lives in Hinsdale, average house, pretty humble.. seems fitting. Hopefully that Chinese will do him well, Jimmy Johns didn't do the trick last time my friend made his sandwich, he kept slumping.
  8. You guys should buy your coffee beans from Caribou Coffee.. specifically the Caribou Coffee in LaGrange.. not ONLY because we have good coffee, but also ya know.. help a Soxtalker out I've been with Caribou for 2 1/2 years now, and I still believe in the product.. we've got the best freshness policy on our beans in the business, I highly recommend our Obsidian blend, it's delicious.
  9. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jun 3, 2008 -> 08:56 PM) Seriously, Alexei is not only awesome, but he's keeping Uribe out of the lineup for a double positive. good call on that one. Injuries have saved our lineup this season so far (Owens, Uribe)
  10. lots of weird things happening tonight... CQ just grounded out..
  11. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Jun 3, 2008 -> 06:45 PM) What the hell got into this team? They just needed someone to call them out...
  12. I've served coffee to Jim Thome, and my buddy has made his sandwich at Jimmy Johns a few times. I used to see Buehrle at The Neutral Zone in Westmont, but I think he moved away from this area recently. I've partied with Bo Jackson's son a few times, he's a year younger than I am and went to high school with some friends of mine. My other buddy ran into Ozzie in the bathroom of the United Center during a boxing match a few years back, said he saw Urlacher there too. Thome lives in a pretty modest house in Hinsdale, not gated or anything, and he walks out and gets the paper just like anyone else. It's fun to see some of your favorite players in the wild.
  13. I had a very good time watching this game tonight, I generally wait for LOST to hit DVD so I have something to watch when I can't access a TV, so I didn't have the issue of needing to catch the episode. Great win tonight, actually gave me some confidence that the offense will come into it's own, though.. we've all said that before.
  14. PK getting good contact.. I'm starting to feel a little better about the offense.
  15. Thome is going opposite field very well lately.
  16. QUOTE (fathom @ May 29, 2008 -> 05:44 PM) How's Hamilton any different than Jenks? I heard that Hamilton called Baseball Tonight to remind them that he has more RBIs than CQ last night.. Sounds like another OCab
  17. Danks strikes out the side. He's looking strong.
  18. split. that's really all we can ask for in this series. anything more is a bonus
  19. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ May 27, 2008 -> 07:21 PM) WHHHHHAAAAA????? Thome vs. LH .229/302/604 AJ vs. LH 270/289/432 They've looked better than last year, when they were both pathetic. I'm not generally a stat guy, but I understand your point.
