  1. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jun 11, 2006 -> 10:30 PM) This is actually one of the easier losses of the year. We didn't beat ourselves today. Freddy did that himself. We took the series, and that's good enough. Agree actually..at least it wasn't one where we had to scream at teh TV because the 'pen blew it or anything. Was never in doubt...just keep winning 2 out of 3 and all will settle itself.
  2. Get back in the box VMart, you f***ing jagoff...the kid has no control right now, like he was really trying to hit you.
  3. Ah yes...time for more "Our team is playing like s*** tonight....time for enhanced aggression towards an opposing teams fan who is doing nothing to initiate it." Stop the s*** guys, act like you are more than 12 years old for once.
  4. QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 11, 2006 -> 09:54 PM) This was another textbook case though of Ozzie leaving a starting pitcher in too long, selfishly, so they can try and get a win. No reason for Garcia to come in this inning after being at the 98 pitch mark. I think Sean Tracey just succumbed to the Sean Lowe "Jersey #50" disease
  5. True. McCarthy has only thrown 0.1 IP in this series, surely he was available tonight.. Frustrating game, but you guys need to stop attacking each other and s***, thats getting real old, REAL fast.
  6. Freddy up to a nice 1.40 WHIP, 5.13 ERA... Keep working on it, and you'll pass Garland up, Fred!!
  7. QUOTE(greg775 @ Jun 11, 2006 -> 09:43 PM) Why didn't he walk Pods? That at bat sure sucked. Fixed that to describe things more appropriately.
  8. Why are we busting on tigerfan again?? Hes been here since the Detroit series, maybe before, NEVER starts s***, never trolls...yet you guys love to bust on him? Is he your safety valve for stress release? Enough already.
  9. QUOTE(Felix @ Jun 11, 2006 -> 09:35 PM) After his horrible start to the year, he's had a .399 OBP. What else do you want from your leadoff hitter? Wtf is going on... goddamn Garcia. Don't care much for selective stat tracking myself. Tell me he'll be at .399 after ALL year, and I'll never say a word again about Pods.
  10. Garcia and Garland...just...wow..those guys are f***ing great.
  11. QUOTE(Felix @ Jun 11, 2006 -> 09:30 PM) No, but its not a horrible OBP. You mention his .250-something average, which means nothing, so people (including myself) mention his respectable OBP (which is better than the one he had last year, as is his OPS). Also, since April 15th (after his horrible start), his line has been .298/.399/.440, which is impressive. His defense isn't any good, but compared to any replacement that we have, its far superior. Oh, I agree we have no better option right now....just hate that Pods is a 1 tool player that most don't mind being our leadoff hitter. Way to f***ing go Garcia, can you let any more of your many walks score??
  12. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 11, 2006 -> 09:26 PM) He's allowing a s*** load of baserunners and some how keeping them from scoring, you can't get away with that forever. I refuse to give players the benifit of the doubt for the rest of their careers because of one season, it's '06 everything starts over new. Coming into the 5th inning...last 3.5 games for Freddy, hes carrying a 1.80 WHIP. I'm not hating on Freddy here, just stating a fact...you won't always work your way out of that.
  13. This great OBP you guys keep harping about for Pods currently ranks him 9th out of the 14 normal starting leadoff hitters....thats supposed to be his saving grace?
  14. I'm not sure how so many still favor a leadoff guy who a)cant bunt for s***, b)doesnt know how to keep the ball on the ground when hitting, c)cant play defense for s***, and d)has a noodle arm. Oh thats right, he sure can steal bases!! Awesome.
  15. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Jun 11, 2006 -> 09:11 PM) And our leadoff man would be???? Well, not like Pods and his awesome 250ish average is doing wonders for us in the leadoff slot right now.
  16. QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 11, 2006 -> 09:09 PM) Instead of Pods or Ozuna, can I take option C next year, which is Josh Fields in LF? Had I not watched BA struggle so mightily as a first year starting OFer, I'd agree 1000%...Now I'm a little gunshy about throwing a rook into the fire. But Fields definately won't be kept away very long.
  17. must you guys give Tigerfan so much s***? honestly? its not like hes here, talking s*** constantly, etc. Enough already.

    Ozuna

QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 11, 2006 -> 07:49 PM) Knowing his posting history, I can guarantee he was ripping on Pods.....and good for him! fathom knows me well. Its no secret that I don't care for Pods one bit as our left fielder.
  19. Capn12

    Ozuna

I'm gonna have to 'Just say no!' to Ozuna in CF...I like the occasional spot start for our leadoff contact hitter in left field, and some at SS, thats about it.
  20. QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 11, 2006 -> 05:47 PM) I was thinking last night that I actually loved the lineup we ended up having late in the game. I believe it was Ozuna, Iguchi, Thome, Konerko (assuming Gload's not in), Dye, Cintron, AJP, Pods, Mackowiak. It seemed so much more balanced. Sub Anderson in for Mack, and I have absolutely no problem with that at all. I could live with Ozuna in for Pods while he is hot, everyday of the week. He is the type of slap hitter Pods SHOULD be like. Then Pods out obviously, and Crede in with Ozuna in LF. But thats just me!
  21. I'm sorry, but I just don't like leaving Mark in after he battled all day, and after he just got taken off the hook. Not at 100+ pitches.
  22. We have to leave this up to f***ing Uribe?? :puke
  23. Its too bad Buehrle goes out there and gives us a great effort, and we back him with this s*** performance by the 'offense'
