Will be swapping between the Sox-Rangers game and the South Caroline-Georgia Regional game.. Would LOVE to get 2 wins here!! -
VERY much, despite repeated attempts asking them to drop it, for some reason that guy was the target of unneccessary hostility

QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Jun 12, 2006 -> 08:31 AM) What was he throwing MPH wise last night? I didn't see the game, and the game thread didn't have much description on that. Gamethread didn't really have anything good to offer, tbh!! ESPN was showing 92-94 I think, but Garcia was constantly behind, then the walks he did give up, were guaranteed to score on the meatballs he was serving up after that.

QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Jun 12, 2006 -> 06:26 AM) Did I miss something? Because last time I checked we had the 2nd best record in the AL and have won the last 2 series against our main competition to win the division. We have been doing all this while the strength of our team(the starting rotation) has under-performed. There is no doubt in my mind that Garcia and Garland will at least pitch better than they are now and we dont face the Indians until Sept I think either..... so it gives us a break against possibly the best hitting team in the AL. Also I'll start worrying about the Tigers when they are able to beat us... so far we have won 5 out of 6 against them. So this wouldn't be a good time for me to reveal Buehrle's splits vs. Winning and Losing teams then I'm guessing.... 4-1, 1.64 ERA, 1.05 WHIP vs. Losing teams 2-3, 4.73 ERA, 1.51 WHIP vs. Winning teams. And considering that theres a real good chance 3 of the 5 teams in the AL Central are gonna be winning teams, that kinda has an impact. Don't start with the "MBIIA" argument, thats not the point. Just putting some numbers out there, and before you ask, yes I counted Cleveland as a winning team, despite 2 games under .500

Just acquired the new Muse CD due out in July. Yet to listen to it here at work, but hoping for a strong effort after 'Absolution'. Lots arent into Matt Bellamys voice, but I dig the sound of the trio.

QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Jun 12, 2006 -> 03:46 AM) Hopefully Ozzie keeps starting him more against righties now after that effort. The thing is, it'd actually be more beneficial now if we had a RHH OF backing him up, instead of Machowiak who's better against righties. I hear Timo Perez is available... I'm just sayin'!! OK, so I was laughing as I typed that.

And here I was, frantically trying to figure out what happened to Josh Fields in Charlotte!! Shows how much I've been monitoring the system

Have a great birthday boss, enjoy it!

OK folks, seems my sigs always seem to be 15 minutes too old to keep up with the times. My current one has Hermanson, Politte, and Cotts What I'm looking for is something with...of course..Captain America in keeping with the theme. Also, our 3-4-5 hitters with something like, oh I dunno..."Everyday ChiSox Heroes" or something? Sound possible, you graphic gurus? Thanks in advance.

In case you missed it, heres more great info to read: Garland 19 HR allowed in 77 IP Garcia 15 HR allowed in 80.2 IP Its safe to say, if Garland doesnt get his head out of his ass, hes got a chance to set some nice records!!

QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Jun 12, 2006 -> 01:08 AM) He's not impressing me too much as a lead-off hitter. He fights his way back from a miserable start, actually gets to .300 for a day, then starts diving again. What happened to the guy who used to bunt for singles and terrorize pitchers and catchers?? I thought he was the key to the Sox fast start last season and I'm surprised they've done so well without his spark this year. Precisely how I feel Ginger...don't get me wrong, I've seen Pods work some counts starting off a game, and thats exactly what he needs to be doing. But he doesn't seem to me like the scrappy, get on base and taunt the opposing pitcher, type guy he was and can be. Busted his ass to get back to .300 after that s***ty start, now he is diving right back again.

QUOTE(greg775 @ Jun 12, 2006 -> 01:02 AM) I don't want to start a thread on this and get blasted, but is anybody else shocked that Frank Thomas is suddenly having a good year? He's at 16 hrs and counting I believe. I don't think you'd find many posters on this board that doubted whether or not Frank could still hit the long ball. But the same issue most of us had while he was here the last 3 years, is the same thing thats going on in Oakland.....its homer or bust for Frank. That .235 BA he is sporting, and 4...FOUR doubles he has this year further back that up. Hes focused on that magical 500 number, and is sacrificing alot of his game from years past in order to do so.
