  1. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 19, 2015 -> 06:53 PM) Is he a scientist that can just isolate "run production" and say that it's 82.6% of the reason for the slow start? C'mon! Use some common sense that it's simply the local media protecting a "favorite son" and that's about it. LOL. You make up percentages all the time. Robin isn't a quote maxhine. The media doesn't need to protect him.
  2. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 19, 2015 -> 06:45 PM) White Sox lack of run production not Ventura cause for slow start . Take away 12 run game they have averaged 2.6 runs per . (3,45 overall ) Honestly, I think he should replace Haber as Asst. GM if Levine can diagnose what's wrong with the team/organization so easily and remedy the situation. How in the world could anyone rip someone for saying run production is a problem.? I know you want to keep the rip Robin bandwagon rolling, but use some common sense.
  3. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 19, 2015 -> 06:24 PM) No, I love teams that play baseball the right way, with energy/excitement and enthusiasm...imposing their will with speed, solid fundamentals and great defense. Basically, the opposite of the White Sox since 2008/10/12. Remember how the Twins were the small market "underdogs" (they were even rumored to be leaving the Twin Cities in 2001)...well, the Royals simply inherited that role vis a vis the White Sox and Tigers. Of course, I have a LITTLE bias deep down because I lived in Kansas City from 1996-2007...and watched many a White Sox team absolutely throttle the Royals, even felt sorry for their fans (like the time Ascencio threw 16 consecutive balls to walk in a run). I will always root for the White Sox first, but the Royals 2nd (when not playing the Sox), as well as the Dodgers, Cardinals and Rangers now (because I know their manager). Heck, it's going to be a VERY long baseball season if the only thing to keep me interested in the season is Carlos Rodon after a mere two weeks. We all have our rooting interests. You love to support Ventura/Beckham/Danks against the world and pick on Don Cooper. Fine. Enojoy yourself. Have at it. Remember, I predicted Beckham would hit under .240 last season and over .270 this year and I'll have been right both times. Not that anyone will care about Gordon by the end of this year, anyway. You are not going to believe this but look it up. The White Sox, the team you said had aboit a 1 in 300 chance of making the playoffs with 159 left on the schedule,, as bad as they have played, have exactly the same record through 11 games as your beloved Royals in 2014.
  4. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 19, 2015 -> 06:10 PM) A rookie lefty in the bullpen is not going to "Stable the ship" He actually could make a pretty big immediate impact as a lot of Cleveland and KC hitters are left handed.
  5. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 19, 2015 -> 05:45 PM) Because Kazmir threw at Cain early in the game and nothing happened to him or Melvin. I'd love to see this type of spirit and enthusiasm on the White Sox. The home crowd basically won that game for the Royals...you just had the feeling there was no way they weren't going to at least come back and tie it. Escobar is their brother. Ventura and Herrera have his back. Simple. All the Hispanic players on that team are bonded together, with Sal Perez as the father/mentor/advisor despite his young age, the AL equivalent of Yadier Molina. The Royals are simply showing they're not going to be pushed around by anyone in baseball anymore (plus, nobody except his teammates can stand Lawrie). LaRussa did the same thing for years and years and people called him a master tactician/hardass. So be it. You should change your name to Kap. You are the David Kaplan of Soxtalk, only he loves the Cubs and you love the Royals.
  6. QUOTE (Jake @ Apr 19, 2015 -> 05:50 PM) I normally don't like moving guys back and forth between the pen and rotation, but in this case it makes sense. They want him to get prepared for MLB competition in a relatively safe environment and they absolutely have to keep his innings total relatively low this year. This kills two birds with one stone. Exactly, and as long as everything goes as planned, he will see the rotation unless he gets injured or the rotation is nails.
  7. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Apr 19, 2015 -> 05:35 PM) Anybody think Quintana will be heading to the DL? Or Noesi? If Rodon is pitching out of the bullpen, no. It will be fun to see hiw Hosmer and Moose look facing him.
  8. QUOTE (Butter Parque @ Apr 19, 2015 -> 05:32 PM) How do you not axe Guerra over guys like Albers and Putnam. Am I missing something? Am I the only one who dreads Guerra coming into games? I know Robin disagrees with me, but thats not saying much... Steve Stone said Don Cooper loves Javy Guerra.
  9. I think there must be an injury to another reliever, not a phantom ome, or Rodon would stay where he is.
  10. Well if Q is done like I have been reading in the gamethread based on his numbers after 3 starts, Theo has a lot of explaining to do about Lester's contract.
  11. If Drabek threw 97 like he did in HS, he may be someone you must keep around to see if you can make something out of him. But 27 year olds who throw 91 with little control have very small upside. I think there is an excellent chance he clears waivers and goes to Charlotte, but if not, I can't imagine Hahn losing any sleep over it.
  12. QUOTE (TitoMB @ Apr 19, 2015 -> 01:36 PM) yeah, it is, damn it. 21 IP, 0 runs, 0.55 WHIP. very impressive. When these guys have surprising starts for other teams, just remember 1999 John Snyder with the White Sox. On May 15, he was 6-1 with a 2.00 ERA. He finished 9-12 with a 6.68 ERA.
  13. When hitting into the shift, is that ruled 5-3? If it is that doesn't make sense to me. He is technically playing 2B isn't he?
  14. Crazy route, but it could be the wind.
  15. Last outing Q went 6 innings 0 ER and 3 hits. He had bad stretches before. Look at June last year. No need to panic.
  16. QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Apr 19, 2015 -> 12:49 PM) Maybe due to rain? I don't recall what he did in the rain last year besides not smile. Ding. Ding. I think the rain is the call
  17. Where the f*** is the pitching coach?
  18. The good news is that he is getting to 0-2. If he keeps doing that, he will be fine.
  19. 90 mph fastball right down the middle whiffs Cabrera.
  20. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Apr 19, 2015 -> 12:18 PM) Eaton has been terrible this season. Hope the contract has not made him too comfortable. I think the opposite. I think he is trying to be worth $25 million every game.
  21. I thiught Eaton might tag up on Melky's routine fly to relatively deep CF. Davis threw a flyball back to the infield. But that last one, it is hard to understand.
  22. Pretty ominus sign when they have the lights on during a bright sunshine.
  23. I think LaRoche has homered both games he played 1B. Hopefully he can get used to DHing.
  24. Thomas, Aparicio, Fisk, Paulie with Nyls Nyman and Harry Chapas honorable mentions.
