4/15 - White Sox vs Indians
I guess Robin did have the bunt on with 2 strikes. I don't agree with it, but Eaton is hitting .120.

QUOTE (chw42 @ Apr 15, 2015 -> 02:07 PM) He swung at ball 4 on the previous pitch too. It's like this team is immune to taking walks. They probably have a season high in walks today.

QUOTE (chw42 @ Apr 15, 2015 -> 02:03 PM) I hate Robin. I doubt he had the bunt on. I bet Eaton did that on his own.

Speaking of Boras, I read the day after the Cubs drafted Bryant, they offered him $6.7 million. They waited until the deadline to sign, and Bryant wound up signing for $6.7 million. It probably would have hurt the Cubs argument that he still needs developmental time had Boras got him out on the field a little sooner.

QUOTE (SouthsideDon48 @ Apr 15, 2015 -> 01:22 PM) I'm watching the game at Applebee's and I just noticed the White Sox no longer has the players' names on the grey jerseys. DISLIKE!!! Not only that, they have given everyone the same number.

QUOTE (gatnom @ Apr 15, 2015 -> 01:04 PM) Our catching situation is pretty scary. Even after the 3 k's today, .292 2 hr 5 rbi in 8 games Not bad. It was less than 72 hours ago, Robin was an idiot pinch hitting for Soto.

QUOTE (brett05 @ Apr 15, 2015 -> 01:06 PM) As history shows you aren't trading anything if Rodon is the real deal. What? You are trading his 7th season for 2 rookie starts. History shows when Rodon is eligible to become a free agent, he won't be pitching for the White Sox.

QUOTE (brett05 @ Apr 15, 2015 -> 12:54 PM) Again, that leverage really isn't there. Ya can;t win it in April but you can lose it. The Sox have done that more than I care to remember. So for 2 April starts as a rookie, you are willing to trade April, May, June, July, August, September and any postseason starts when he is 28 or 29?

QUOTE (brett05 @ Apr 15, 2015 -> 12:50 PM) Be that as it may, you cannot deny the truth of good Boras clients never seeing that year. Clients usually sign before hand. It has nothing to do when they sign. It has to do when they get put on the 25 man roster.

QUOTE (brett05 @ Apr 15, 2015 -> 12:43 PM) But the Sox aren't keeping him down for service time reasons I have to believe if it didn't matter if he was on the Opening Day roster or called up 2 weeks later, he would be in the rotation right now. The extra year of control in what should be his prime, vs. 2 weeks of rookieness is well worth waiting.

QUOTE (Mike F. @ Apr 15, 2015 -> 12:22 PM) Do you think those 2 at-bats were acceptable in that situation? People make outs most of the time. It seems people think hitting against major league pitching is pretty simple. Why does Jose Abreu, one of the greatest hitters in the world swing at bad pitches occassionally? It might be the pitchers. It obviously looked good to him at the point he had to decide to hit it. Hitting is a hard thing to do.

QUOTE (Mike F. @ Apr 15, 2015 -> 12:17 PM) That was atrocious. There's a reason why Shuck and Soto should be riding the pine. And when Flowers plays, it's why isn't Soto playing. I swear people think everyone should hit about .600 except the opposition who should hit no more than .050 against White Sox pitching.

QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Apr 15, 2015 -> 11:15 AM) Sometimes I wonder what the hell is Abreu swinging at. Why are you swinging at a ball in the dirt on a 1-0 count He sucks.

I knows it's early but Vince Coleman...
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 15, 2015 -> 10:19 AM) Specific technique and reads are different from overall philosophy on base running. When they showed him teaching they were running around the bases, and in his interviews he was definitely preaching aggressiveness. I think, just like with everything else, if you are doing something differently than how you have been doing it the majority of your life, there is an adjustment time. Coleman isn’t in camp just to help with the speed guys, however. He is interested in helping everyone maximize their efforts on the basepaths. “The most important part of the game, the most intricate part of the game, I would say, is baserunning,” Coleman said. “When you can go from first to third, score from second on all base hits and break up double plays … and you don’t have to be fast to be a great baserunner. You just have to be smart, alert and aggressive.” “If you want to be great, it’s a process, day to day,” he said.

QUOTE (shipps @ Apr 15, 2015 -> 09:54 AM) He mouthed the words to his girlfriend "be strong" after the verdict was read. I still get the feeling this guy thinks he is invincible. In fact I know he thinks that he is. It's back to the Big House, and get ready for his next murder trial.

David Robertson is a f***ing beast.
QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Apr 15, 2015 -> 10:02 AM) They use Miller-Betances in the bullpen and picked up a 1st round pick in the process. I get it. Didn't they also give up a better 1st round pick signing Miller?

David Robertson is a f***ing beast.
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 15, 2015 -> 09:41 AM) They thought they could get the same type of reliever in Miller, for cheaper, plus pick up a draft pick./ They also have Betances, but a 7th, 8th ,9th with those 3 would be pretty hard to beat.

QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Apr 15, 2015 -> 09:18 AM) Was it suppose to be this soon? Seems early to me. Hasn't it been 6 or 7 days? If he is found not guilty and his mom tells George McCaskey he is a nice boy, do the Bears sign him?

Hopefully these are just the growing pains in the learning to be aggressive. It's been pretty ugly so far, but sometimes being thrown out teaches you something. The close ones with near perfect relays shouldn't bother anyone. It's when someone is out by 20 feet that is bothersome.

4/15 - White Sox vs Indians
QUOTE (Bigsoxhurt35 @ Apr 15, 2015 -> 08:51 AM) Saw this on Twitter. Our bullpen struck out the side twice last year. (Aug 26 and Sept 26 per sbnation on Twitter). Robertson has already done that twice. http://www.southsidesox.com/2015/4/15/8419..._source=twitter They struck out the side twice last night. I have said I was no fan of the Duke signing, but he did something last night I haven't seen in a long time. His last strike out, he basically quick pitched Santana. It looked like a meatball right down the middle, but Santana wasn't prepared to swing. It was brilliant.
