  1. I had a neighbor who was a CPD detective in the district that includes DePaul. He once told there were a lot of DePaul students who would show up at the station on Saturday and Sunday morning sayings they were raped. He told me the vast majority were young ladies who were probably drunk who had consensual sex. I don't know how old you are, but if you are college age or above, there is a decent chance you spent a lot of time trying to get into someone's pants. If your quest was successful, especially if it was a one night stand sort of thing, there is a non zero chance you have been accused of rape, only to have police weed it out. So you might be, or if you have a brother, he might be, or a friend might be just as awful as Boston. An embarrassment to the human race.
  2. She failed a polygraph. She told cops she kissed them goodbye and made the bed. Those are things she told cops. She sought the Mets players at the bar. Witnesses said she was very aggressive. Boston actually left the bar and went home to play video games. Something she even confirmed. That was right around the time of Wiiiam Kennedy Smith in FL. I am thinking they would have loved to have charged 3 somewhat prominent black guys with raping a white woman, but there was no evidence. Why is it not possible Boston is innocent? I could see if it went to trial and he go off, but they couldn't even charge him.
  3. I'm bothered the guy is called a rapist , when it not only hasn't been proven, it was determined it cannot be proven. But remember, if you are ever accused of something heinous, even if you didn't do it, you should be treated by society like you did it the rest of your life.
  4. What I don't get is if you are trying to win a championship, how would relying on a minimum guy who was DFAd by the DBacks be a good idea? I certainly don't think throwing 8 figures at Bellinger is a good idea, unless they have someone who sees a simple fix. I did see DeRosa trying to fix him on MLBN last year, as his set up was slightly different, especially his back foot from his halcyon days, but you would think he and the Dodgers have tried everything. I do agree that it would be better to have some control or they may be playing the game again next year.
  5. Is ML major league or minor league field coordinator?
  6. I would think with the couple of leaks out there, the staff should be announced tomorrow or Tuesday.
  7. Yes. He seemed to have a pretty good relationship with his players.
  8. They have gone away except for people that think he's a bad coach. If he was known as the greatest 1B coach and OF instructor, you probably wouldn't think twice about a crime for which he was never charged. He wasn't sued. Nothing. Other than your opinion that he's a bad baseball coach, what other proof do you have that he is guilty? Vince Coleman was with him. Same accusations. When he became a White Sox baserunning instructor, no one mentioned the infamous cloud.
  9. I'm not. I am pointing out he was never charged. His accuser failed a lie detector, made the bed, kissed him goodbye, and it was 30 years ago. There is a pretty decent chance he's not quilts of anything other than being horny of .which he had a big reputation . Why there should be some cloud hanging over him now issilly. Funny, no one here said anything about it when Vince Coleman who is a known asshole, came to the Sox as a baserunning instructor. I guess the key is to determine how good you are at a job before determining if questionable things that were alleged should have DQd you in the first place. Not necessary rape, but have you been accused ever of doing something you didn't do? It does happen.
  10. A case can be made for that. I just think it’s time to move on from the rape allegation. The accuser has been dead for a decade and the accusation was 30 years ago with no charge. Nothing new is coming down the road.
  11. Cole Khmer is the first Bear receiver to have 2 or more TDS on consecutive games since 1964.
  12. Don’t know but probably not very many. Winfield is a HOFer, and if Judge matches him a team will be overpaying him quite a bit. He played until he was 44 or 45. Hitters don’t age as well today. I think because of the max effort pitching movement. Plus one would suspect his defense will decline. I would love to have hi for 2 or 3 years, but the last few years of his deal, the team that gets him, and their fans, will be counting down to its expiration.
  13. So anyone accused of anything shouldn't be able to work. Got it. If you ever read the story you will see where there are some cracks. Her friend who she swapped Darling and Cone on the same night sort of remained neutral. She did give DBo and Vince Coleman kisses goodbye when she left. Could be a coping mechanism, could be someone got a bit overserved and did something they regretted. I don't know. But to say Boston is a bad guy without really knowing what happened is a reach. I am all for victims rights. But these guys weren't charged and yet many are disgusted Daryl Boston has anything to do with the White Sox. That's crazy to me.
  14. Engel is faster and 1/5 the price, at least.
  15. I don’t know what the big deal is about being a good base runner if you don’t get on base.
  16. Guys that tall generally don’t age well. For players 6 foot 6 and taller, Dave Winfield is the all time post 30 WAR leader at 26. Hawks buddy Frank Howard is next at 17. 3rd place is Giancarlo Stanton at 3.8. I would think Judge will eventually be at the top, but It’s a big risk.
  17. Not saying he is innocent, but Boston was never charged, and his accuser failed a polygraph.
  18. Which would be ridiculous. It shows he has no confidence in his people building a team that fans will be interested to watch at the ballpark or on TV. Why are those clowns still making decisions? This half assed approach has worked once in 42 seasons. Why is it still being attempted? White Sox fans deserve ownership committed to winning. If you are going to go for it, go for it. Or sell the team to someone who will. That way we all win. Sox fans can follow a team who believes winning is more important than be totally loyal to dear leader. And JR can spend the rest of his days counting his money.
  19. They can cut him n spring trading and pay a fraction of the contract, The Sox love him. No way they would have non tendered him at that figure
  20. Never was a fan of the 83 uniform. I always thought they looked like space suits. I love the black tops, but they wear them way too often.
  21. The best he could have done was give his his $1 million buyout and tell him to go scratch. Instead he traded for a guy who couldn't hit righties and couldn't play RF. You almost have to try to be that wrong.
  22. The obnoxious thing was he and Krause couldn't wait for the Jordan era to end. They thought they were so smart, and were jealous the players and Phil were getting all the credit. I think it has since been beat by "the Process" but the 5 years after Jordan were at that point, the worst 5 year cumulative record in NBA history. Without MJ, JR is a total failure.
  23. I don't think people realize what an awful location that would be for a baseball park. Hard to get to. The nearest CTA train is a mile away. If anyone has ever been to a Bears game and decided to take a bus from Roosevelt, the closest station to Soldier Field, it takes longer than walking due to heavy Lake Shore Drive traffic. Its OK for the Bears 10 times a year on Sundays. But 81 games a year, most during the work week, would be a nightmare. The other thing is, the biggest complaint about the Sox current home, is lack of restaurants and bars around it. If the Sox moved to Soldier Field, that situation would be worse.
