  1. I'd like to have someone with some defensively ability myself. Don't know how Grandal will hold up, and think Seby's offense was a mirage.
  2. I'd buy low on Tucker Barnhardt. Not as a regular, but he would be a pretty decent back up.
  3. His legs are impressive. I can't wait until he has a better line, and another weapon or two. 3rd and 12, he doesn't have to complete a pass to move the chains. If he can be a somewhat consistent passer, it's hard to see how he won't be the best Bears QB ever.
  4. The espn.com way too early power rankings. Not too fond of the Chairman. 17. Chicago White Sox 2022 record: 81-81 (second in the AL Central) 2022 final ranking: 16 There are excuses to consider -- Luis Robert, Tim Anderson and Eloy Jimenez all missed significant time with injuries -- but the disappointing season was mostly the result of too many subpar performances on a roster that didn't have quality depth to survive a few injuries. On the bright side, four-fifths of the rotation returns with Dylan Cease perhaps the preseason AL Cy Young favorite after going 14-8 with a 2.20 ERA and 227 strikeouts in 184 innings. Lucas Giolito (4.90 ERA) needs to figure out what went wrong, and Michael Kopech has to pitch deeper into games after averaging less than five innings per start. The lineup still needs some left-handed balance, and Yoan Moncada needs to bounce back (although his big 2019 season looks more and more like a juiced-ball fluke). The biggest problem, however, might be owner Jerry Reinsdorf and his unwillingness to spend a few extra pennies to, you know, try to win the World Series.
  5. Jose's comments during spring training seems to indicate the Sox let him know back then how this was most likely to go down.
  6. TA is pictured on a lot of the advertising pushing for 2023 ticket plans. He isn't going anywhere unless someone offers something too crazy to say no.
  7. The blue ones are the same as my old high school uniform, even with the white pinstripe pants. And we were the Knights as well.
  8. Supposedly it has evolved. Aooarently all the anti Greg Walker people had no idea he , accourding to them, was way ahead of his time.
  9. Just get most of these guys back to where they were pre-Tony, and it will be fun again.
  10. I’m excited about the hire. Obviously most of what any of us can go by is his press conference, and anyone not impressed with that, wouldn’t be impressed with anyone else.
  11. I don’t know what happened, but Fields suddenly looks like he should have gone 1-1 when he was drafted. Don’t want to jinx it but Ryan Pace might have done something good.
  12. I agree with that. They have to hit homers.
  13. I was watching something yesterwith Jon Greeberg from the Athletic. He interviewed Cairo, and Cairo told him Tony didn't ask his coaches for any opinions. Cairo said they would give them to him anyway, but Tony always did his own thing.
  14. What's weird is Salvy and Soler, while big power guys, are also really low OBP guys.
  15. There is no way Pedro will ever bat Leury 3rd. So we are already ahead.
  16. As bad as the LaRussa hire was, and there were signs the last couple of months of 2021 that things were headed sideways, I think Hahn's 2021 offseason was worse. OK, the Kimbrel trade didn't work out, but he compounds that by picking up the option and trading him for a guy who serves no purpose who is owed even more. He lets Rodon walk for nothing. He signs Valaszuez and Graveman. He becomes the most popular person in the Joe Kelly family history. Why is a team looking to win a championship counting on big production in RF from Gavin Sheets?
  17. The team was desperate for someone who bashes RHP. Rick gets Pollack. For the love of God how does he keep his job?
  18. I'm not buying the naming rights fiasco as fact. The park is owned by the state, and the ISFA had to approve the agreement. It Wintrust was offering more, I don't see how JRs lakeys could get around that.
  19. The big difference for me is since I became an adult, I get a lot of weird looks when I go trick or treating.
  20. They used to do it with 9 and 10 man pitching staffs. I wonder if the pendulum will ever swing the other way, and except for basically closers, max effort every pitch isn't emphasized as much.
  21. It is. But I'm sure he means not able to play. IL the entire year, insurance picks of at least most of the tab.
  22. Kevin Long made Kyle Schwarber? Schwarbers OPS this year was below his career OPS. He was basically just doing what he always does. Nothing wrong with liking Kevin Long. I thought he was getting the job and wasn't pissed off about it.
  23. If Kevin Long was the hitting coach of a non playoff team, he wouldn't have been a Soxtalk darling. The point is, so much is put into what team these guys are coaching, and they have very little to do with a team totally sucking. He also would probably have never be mentioned by the national guys as a candidate either.
