  1. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 4, 2006 -> 07:45 PM) Lets get a DP here. you got it.
  2. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 4, 2006 -> 07:43 PM) He better not stop Utley's streak. I heard someone speculating today that Glavine is the guy that will stop it. I guess Utley hasn't fared too well against him.
  3. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Aug 4, 2006 -> 07:42 PM) El duque just tripled.... Is he coughing up a lung? He's in great shape, but he smokes his sack off.
  4. Garland needs to shut them down at the bottom of this inning. Its something the staff has had a problem with the last several weeks.
  5. QUOTE(ottawa_sox @ Aug 4, 2006 -> 07:37 PM) Time for Kong to go the other way. ok
  6. Thome owns Halladay, but his back isn't 100%. He's moving around looks Frank Thomas-esque.
  7. I don't think people would think much of Jim Thome's glove work if Ozzie threw him in LF. Its the same although not quite as extreme as Mack in CF. Its stupid. How many times do you have to be burned before you quit sticking your hand in the fire? It also would be nice if a member of the greatest rotation ever assembled would shut the opposition down when the Sox cut the deficit to 1 run.
  8. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Aug 4, 2006 -> 07:24 PM) Roy Halladay has to be nasty as all hell to bunt against, especially if he's expecting it. The only run I'm pissed about is the one making it 3-2 right now. I'd rather bunt a breaking ball breaking down than a fastball. Didn't they give Mack 1 swing? They get him behind in the count and expect him to get a bunt down against a guy who probably is a top 5 pitcher in all of baseball.
  9. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Aug 4, 2006 -> 07:24 PM) Is the fishing Wave going around? That's one thing that must stop in the upper deck at USCF.
  10. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Aug 4, 2006 -> 07:23 PM) Montero gives up a 3-run jack, Garza in line for the W. Ozzie was real high on Montero,.
  11. QUOTE(CYGarland @ Aug 4, 2006 -> 07:20 PM) I would add Vazquez and Garcia to that list as well. They seem to have a beach of a time pitching over errors...Hell, we should have our best D out thereEVERY nite from now on,maybe that will get the starters in a groove The Sox as a team have had a difficult time pitching over defensive miscues this season.
  12. QUOTE(shawnhillegas @ Aug 4, 2006 -> 07:19 PM) yeah, hes just slow now. Maybe he should give Brady Anderson a call this winter.
  13. What are the chances he takes one a foot off the outside corner for strike 3?
  14. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Aug 4, 2006 -> 07:14 PM) Tracey pulled in favor of Montero. Hopefully he's roided up, and the Knights will win.
  15. QUOTE(CYGarland @ Aug 4, 2006 -> 07:07 PM) Exactly. If i were Mack i'd be pissed he keeps putting me out there Mack is the type of guy who would be thrilled if Ozzie put him behind the plate. I just don't see how much more evidence you need to come to the conclusion that Mack should only be in CF in an emergency. An extreme emergency. Seriously, and I never thought I would say this, I think if they don't want to tweak the roster, Pods should be in CF and Mack in LF when Anderson sits. Mack is much better in LF than Pods, and as little as I think of Pod's defensive prowess, he can't be worse than Mack in CF, can he?
  16. Thome is 4-8 with 6 walks in his career against Halladay. I don't think any left the park, though.
  17. A lot of people want to stack the offense in games against Halladay. The White Sox best team recently was also their worst offensively. Mack might hit .342 against RHP, but he needs to hit a solo homer against Roy Halladay to make up for his first inning gaffe. Defense and pitching win. The pitching made Ozzie look like a genius last year. Its making him look like a fool this year.
  18. QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Aug 4, 2006 -> 06:34 PM) Did you read the article about Cooper working with Javy on closing his stance and standing taller? Granted, it's no guarantee, but maybe it leads to an improvement... The next big game Javy Vazquez wins will be his first. He blows. He's below .500 lifetime with a 4.50 ERA pitching mostly in the NL. He isn't that good. His contract doesn't represent his overall results.
