  1. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jul 16, 2006 -> 02:05 PM) It was about as easy as a guy making the throw from 3rd to 1st with a fast runner going (ie relatively easy, but a bit of pressure since your rushing or in Melky's case cause its a longer throw). That was routine and it was stupid by Cora. Especially considering the tying run would have been coming to the plate.
  2. DJ just said its a shame when you don't know the difference between Garcia's fastball and change-up.
  3. I just slowed it up on Tivo. Crede was not quite to 3rd yet when Cabrerra scooped the ball up. It was an easy play, he had all day.
  4. I love running into easy outs down 3 in the 6th. Joey Cora makes some crazy decisions.
  5. The Sox need to get these 2 home.
  6. QUOTE(TitoMB345 @ Jul 16, 2006 -> 01:44 PM) Yeah, I was in Lake Geneva at the time, for 3 days, watching the Cinci series telling myself "Man, what a life! My team is destroying everyone, and I'm enjoying myself in an awesome house in Lake Geneva!" Now, I'm sitting in my house back here, watching my team suck for the past week, and I don't have anything else to do on this fine Sunday afternoon. You could go outside and sweat your bag off.
  7. QUOTE(SnB @ Jul 16, 2006 -> 01:39 PM) that's the thing that's bugging me the most, it's not their boppers that are beating us, it's the cabrera's and the cairo's of the world. Jeter and ARod drove in 3 in the first.
  8. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Jul 16, 2006 -> 01:27 PM) A Yankee team missing 2 of its better hitters. 3 Sheffield, Matsui, Damon
  9. White Sox pitching has allowed 26 runs in 20 innings this series.
  10. at least the board was down on another Yankee rocket
  11. That last one was 94 on the WGN gun. Of course Wright has been consistently at 94 and Hawk was saying he's throwing 88.
  12. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jul 16, 2006 -> 01:06 PM) Maybe we should email them and they'd tell us. I think they have the same suspitions as we all do.
  13. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jul 16, 2006 -> 01:05 PM) I thought I heard somewhere it was a concious decision. It's possible the WBC had an effect, but that would have worn off by now. I just want him traded. If he really can still throw 94-95 and is just doing what he's doing because he thinks it works better, its time management steps in and shows him some numbers. I heard that once, but I really doubt its true. I think if he did have the ability to throw harder he would.
  14. Its refreshing to hear Hawk not BSing about Freddy anymore.
  15. Do you think Bruce Froemming ever has any meal money left over?
  16. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jul 16, 2006 -> 12:57 PM) ROB MACKOWIAK IS COSTING THIS TEAM GAMES IN CENTERFIELD! It is amazing almost everytime he's in CF there is a ball that a lot of guys would get to that he doesn't get. You would think at least sometimes there would be nothing but routine plays out there.
  17. Hawk could save his voice some and get "That ball is hit hard" on a soundboard, and use it for the majority of batters Garcia faces.
  18. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jul 16, 2006 -> 12:54 PM) That ball was hit straight at the 2b, no? He had to hold up in case it was a line drive. Yes, but if he would have run hard and slid into second, it wouldn't have been close. He pulled up and went into second standing up.
  19. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jul 16, 2006 -> 12:53 PM) Jim Thome is the one guy I'm not gonna fault on the basepaths. He knows he slow as heck, but he f***in sprints everytime. He didn't exactly go hard into secondbase. I know he's been great, but there is absolutely no reason for that to ever happen.
  20. When is the White Sox staff going to do something about the atrocious baserunning. Quit defending Thome DJ. He didn't hustle into second. Thome walking into second costs the Sox a run.
  21. Thank God the Sox offense has been on fire this season.
  22. People were talking about how the Mets are so desperate for a starter. Trachsel has won his last 7 starts. If Pedro can get healthy and Glavine, I see no reason why they would give the Sox an overwhelming package for a guy like Garcia.
  23. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Jul 16, 2006 -> 12:33 PM) Yeah, that 1-0 shutout in the World Series game clincher wasn't a big deal. Or that clincher in 2005. Nothing special about game 3 of the ALDS That was last year. Tom Seaver pitched some great games, I don't think I'd want him on the mound right now.
  24. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Jul 16, 2006 -> 12:32 PM) What is Gordon, 38? He's signed a 3 year deal worth $18 million. That's a huge gamble for teams to take on. I think its a bigger gamble to pay Garcia $9 million next season and trot him out to the mound every 5th day. People sitting in the bleachers may get hurt, lawsuits will follow.
