Sox @ Houston - World Series Game 4
Rowand swings at anything ankle high.

So, did anyone place any pre-season wagers?
I bet a Cub fan friend of mine every year $10 a game for final record. I made $200. He bet me double or nothing for the ALDS. That's up to $400. He bet me double or nothing for the ALCS, now $800. Its the final double or nothing for the WS. One more White Sox victory, and I am not only a season ticketholder of the world champions, but I'll also be $1600 richer.

Everett/Garner
QUOTE(knightni @ Oct 26, 2005 -> 01:02 AM) Eziekiel Astacio may not see the light of day with the Astros the rest of the series. What's the deal with this guy's face?

Biggio's Wife Hit
Well it is now the top story at chicagotribune.com, a bigger story than the passing of Rosa Parks. While the incident should never have happened and the perp should be banned from ever entering another sporting event, no charges were filed, so it probably wasn't too big a deal.

Dome or no Dome
QUOTE(frahungski @ Oct 24, 2005 -> 11:15 PM) it seems to me it's their park and the choice is a part of homefield advantage. they should let em do what they want I agree.

my crazy plan WORKED
At about 5:30 they had a ton of scalpers inside Jimbos. Brokers must of ate a lot of upper deck seats, there were a lot of empties mixed in upstairs.

Rowand mentioned with Yankees
QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Oct 23, 2005 -> 10:58 AM) No one is talking about breaking up the team. In fact, looking at it realistically, you can probably safely say that seven of the nine positions are already filled (Pierzynski, Iguchi, Uribe, Crede, Podsednik, Rowand/Anderson, Dye -- at 1B or RF). But, they need to get better offensively. Our rotation is set (Buehrle/Garland/Contreras/Garcia/B-Mac), much of our bullpen is set (Hermy/Cotts/Jenks/Politte, with Marte probably being traded), so they have to use the money that's going to come in and get some strong offensive players in here; and Sheffield is a strong offensive player. I really doubt KW would trade for Sheffield.

One more jealous jab by the losers at fox
Liz Phair looked good, and, while not sounding all that great, sounded better at the park than she did on tv. You do have to love some of the lyrics of her songs.

Hawk on the Radio
Good to have Hawk in town. He should be here.

rate my crazy plan for tomorrow
We parked by Shinnock's, and I can tell you there was absolutely no security bubble all the way to the gate. We had 4 or 5 people ask us if we were selling but saw nobody selling.

Seat Question
QUOTE(sickness212 @ Oct 22, 2005 -> 08:23 AM) Pardon my ignorance but Ihow many rows are in a standard section at US Cellular (Section 145) I am just making sure I will be happy with my seats in row 20. Row 20 is a good seat. For watching a game in 145, I would rather be in row 20 than the first few rows, you have a better overall angle. There are a lot of people who paid $1500 or more for seat that would gladly trade with you.

Sox Fest SOLD OUT!
QUOTE(Iwritecode @ Oct 21, 2005 -> 12:04 PM) So instead of paying the $249 for the package people can now pay $249 per night and HOPE that somebody has some extra passes for all three days (at $15 a piece). What a deal! Boy I'm glad I got my package early. The Hyatt is a HUGE hotel. Wait until a week or so before Soxfest. You will be able to get a room there on Priceline for under $50 a night. They have been $40-45 the previous 4 or 5 years.

More World Series tickets
They haven't released any on ticketmaster since the initial offering. They might have been doing maintenance on the page. I also heard from someone that there were less than 150 tickets released for Game 1 when they became available.

More World Series tickets
QUOTE(maki @ Oct 20, 2005 -> 09:04 AM) i really think the fact that you can't do it at the box office is an offshoot of the expansion of getting tickets online. now that most do it online and by cc, they don't wanna do it in person w/ cash because of the hassle of dealing w/ refunds using cash. now you simply put the money back in the cc acct. i think this is part of the reasoning. certainly not all, but part. The other problem is tickets sold out in 18 minutes. How many people waiting in line would have been able to get tickets within that time frame, especially with the people in front of every ticket line you have ever been in checking section by section before making up their minds?

World Series Tickets go onsale Tues
QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Oct 18, 2005 -> 05:45 PM) Im not going to read the whole thread for answer, because im just lazy to be honest, but if I was to go down to game 1, no tickets obviously, and wait till after 1st pitch, or right before, do you think I could score tickets for under 300? I know the ALCS there was not demand like everyone was expecting, but I know this is a whole new ballgame... Considering I have never been to a WS game I couldn't give you an answer. But if 300 or so is your limit, it probably is your best chance.

Guaranteed series tickets....
I think you guys who put deposits down still may be alright. On the other site someone there is claiming his friend got called at 1 pm today when the tickets were all gone and got his tickets for next year and 2 upper deck seats to all WS games.

World Series Tickets go onsale Tues
QUOTE(Steff @ Oct 18, 2005 -> 05:33 PM) Hey Dick... lookie who's got plenty of WS tickets.... And those are Season Ticket Holders tickets.. Nice, eh? Quote: Front Row Chicago owner Eric Soderholm - a former White Sox player - holds World Series tickets that his company is selling LMAO. They had a guy on yesterday, a season ticketholder who sold his whole lot for $12,000. The idiot even agreed to an interview. I don't know if Eric has some of those, but judging by what they are getting on ebay, he should have probably gone that route.

Any season ticket holders for next year?
QUOTE(sickness212 @ Oct 18, 2005 -> 04:40 PM) Are there any that would want to split them with me? I'll take 30 games .. There's a guy on craigslist who has season tickets and will sell you WS tickets to games 2 and 7 at face if you take 35 games off his hands. You should check it out.

QUOTE(aboz56 @ Oct 18, 2005 -> 01:50 PM) So how do you register? Down at the very bottom of the site they have a bunch of stuff in red, one of them is register.

Guaranteed series tickets....
QUOTE(Steff @ Oct 18, 2005 -> 01:45 PM) I can't wait to see the reactions of some of you if you get a call from the Sox today, tomorrow, or even Thursday telling you to come pick up your WS tickets and '06 Season Ticket package. She brings up a great point. There was someone from the other site who hadn't been contacted yet, but the credit card was charged. Check with you credit card companies, if they have charged you, its probable they would have tickets for you.

Sox/Cubs Tickets
They don't sell them on line. You need a ticket package or this season they had a lottery for leftover tickets. You needed to be registered at whitesox.com

Guaranteed series tickets....
QUOTE(Steff @ Oct 18, 2005 -> 01:34 PM) Uh.. Dick.. to email/call at the START of the SECOUND ROUND of playoffs inquiring about a ticket offer that got you tickets for the DS, CS, and WS... That's just plain dense. It might be, but that's the date of the return email. It would be interesting to see when he sent it to the White Sox. Anyway, this should all work out in the end. Thousands of dissappointed people are going to make sure they don't have to rely on ticketmaster or overworked and underpaid account reps, and buy ticket plans for next year, thus increasing the season ticketbase significantly. Too bad they didn't build the homerun porch, it could probably pay for itself fairly quickly.

Guaranteed series tickets....
QUOTE(Steff @ Oct 18, 2005 -> 01:30 PM) On October 11th...?? The day the SECOND ROUND of the playoffs started...?? You have got to be kidding me..? Craftsman special if I ever saw one. If Natalie is anything like my rep, serious lag time wouldn't be out of the question. My rep actually called me a couple of weeks ago for the first time in 3 years. He wanted to know if I'd be interesting in moving up a few rows. Once again I am not kidding.

Guaranteed series tickets....
QUOTE(kapkomet @ Oct 18, 2005 -> 01:09 PM) Yep... the WHITE SOX SCREW THE FANS AGAIN. :headshake I said nothing about the White Sox screwing the fans. Ticket brokers screwed the fans, but this was botched up pretty badly. The fact was there were not many available tickets to begin with. They have never been in this situation before so they really couldn't know what to expect. I am shocked, however, that people who committed their deposits yesterday couldn't have been taken care of. Tickets could easily have been put aside, or if they were not available, emails or phone calls could have been made, as well as new customers this morning could have been told there is nothing available until people who made their deposits yesterday were taken care of. What people need to do is get full season tickets. Then you will never have a problem when the White Sox get world serious again.

Guaranteed series tickets....
They just didn't have enough time to handle all of this. Does anyone know if they had people working on this throughout the night? The main reason I figured 1000 seats from this offer and not a much larger number was the lack of time, and available tickets. They said on the news last night there were 2000 left for game 1. That appeared to be BEFORE anyone was processed. I didn't agree with the offer in the first place, and would be willing to bet many of the people who went to the offices were working for brokers. They keep the real fans away from the tickets again. Its amazing.
