  1. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Sep 9, 2005 -> 09:59 PM) We are now 0-6 in extra innings at home. Not good for a team most likely to get homefield advantage. Someone had a stat where they haven't scored a run in any of the extra innings at home this season.
  2. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Sep 9, 2005 -> 09:58 PM) Just remember these two words: "Yo, chill" Jenks looks good. The next jersey I get will be with his name on it. Are you going to get his authentic size?
  3. QUOTE(greg775 @ Sep 9, 2005 -> 09:56 PM) Dye ain't no star, either. Let's face it we're winning with mirrors. We're gonna be hanging on by a thread before this is over unless the Tribe starts sucking. I don't care if we won 7 in a row; we're not playing good ball. I'm most pissed at Freddie for not beating the Royals the other night. That was one we needed to put away and sweep, not give up a 2 run blast to Berroa. We are only gonna go as far as Fred, Mark, Jon, our bullpen and our defense take us. If Fred, Mark and Jon don't dominate we are fricked. Freddy blew it yesterday, and Buerhle had runs to work with today. These guys make a lot of money to shut these teams down, and they didn't do the job.
  4. QUOTE(Ozzie Montana @ Sep 9, 2005 -> 09:55 PM) If only we had Frank. Everett was better when he had to split time with Frank. Or if only KW acquired someone at the deadline. Everett will probably get hot again at some point, but right now he is terrible.
  5. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Sep 9, 2005 -> 09:54 PM) He hasnt all year. And whats sad is its not going to change in September. The weird part is he used to be so much better from the left side. Now he looks like Jose Valentin.
  6. QUOTE(S720 @ Sep 9, 2005 -> 09:52 PM) What the heck is wrong with Everett? How the heck you wanted to hit that way down low ball? Man, it's just so PAINFUL to see our hitters hit right now! He's really been brutal especially from the left side lately. He has no business batting third.
  7. Everett needs to sit down a couple of games or at least move down in the line-up. He's swinging at everything right now. That last pitch bounced in front of the plate.
  8. This game is over. The way Everett has been swinging he has no chance against this guy.
  9. QUOTE(Ozzie Montana @ Sep 9, 2005 -> 09:46 PM) A team that wastes those opportunites we did deserves to loss the game. And on top of that Jenks pitched his ass off for us and NOTHING. You are absolutely correct. The Sox don't deserve to win this one.
  10. Gload has to let that hit him.
  11. QUOTE(Ozzie Montana @ Sep 9, 2005 -> 09:41 PM) What do we say about Iguchi's defense now? That throw was a little wide, but AJ was sleeping. If he had been better prepared for the play at the plate, he makes that catch and tag easily.
  12. 5 runs should have been enough to win tonight. Buerhle has been very dissapointing. For the first time ever, I felt he lost his composure with that fantom balk call.
  13. QUOTE(sayitaintso @ Sep 9, 2005 -> 07:50 PM) Does anyone know if there is somebody up pen yet? Hard Art is always up, talking some ball. He doesn't wear his shin guards like Michael Jackson anymore, though.
  14. When Robb Quinlan is taking you deep to tie the game once again its time for a shower.
  15. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Sep 9, 2005 -> 07:40 PM) This is exactly where Buehlre needs to shut the Angels down. Nothing shifts momentum in a game and deflates you club like a pitcher giving up a lead immediately after scoring. That was quick.
  16. Pauly gets the Sox the lead. Buerhle cannot give it up.
  17. QUOTE(S720 @ Sep 9, 2005 -> 07:31 PM) If the playoff starts right now, I DEFINITELY will have Contreras as my starting pitcher for game one. I just don't have the faith on Buerhle, Garcia or Garland right now. And it's sad to have that feelings! Contreras has very similar stats to Garcia this year, and he's pitched in a lot of bad luck. He had a few no decisions he should have won, and gave up some meaningless runs that raised his ERA.
  18. Buerhle's performance against possible playoff opponents make you wonder if he should be the guy going to the bullpen.
  19. QUOTE(That funky motion @ Sep 9, 2005 -> 07:29 PM) What the hell is wrong with Mark! Get in this game! Exactly. The offense got him some runs. He failed to step up, again. This is happening more and more. Its time for him to turn it up.
  20. QUOTE(Jenks Heat @ Sep 8, 2005 -> 11:35 AM) Hence the two year ban as the IOC has. Sit 10 games and reap the benefits for a few months/years. Exactly. If you make the penalties so severe guys would never recover from them, nobody would take any chances. I understand being called out is a deterent. But really, 10 days is nothing. I really think Selig's 50 games isn't enough. Make it 50 games, not days, and a clean test before you can play again. If it lingers in your system for 2 years, you sit for 2 years. Its funny about Palmiero, it is being speculated that his positive may have come from using steriods a while ago, but he couldn't use that as a defense considering how he popped off under oath.
  21. QUOTE(JimH @ Sep 8, 2005 -> 09:54 AM) . Of course, he lives in Arizona Talk about a tough commute! That's walking distance for certain Cub fans. At least 1 anyway.
  22. The fact is the only reason there is a Tribune story about attendance is to make sure the Sox have some negative to go along with their 7 game winning streak and virtual playoff lock. The Rogers article is also somewhat negative about their chances in the playoffs. Its time for a city and region to see through the crap this paper prints on its pages. Its so obvious what they are doing. Who cares what the attendance is on a Tuesday night against one of the worst teams ever. As a season ticketholder, I actually appreciated the extra room. The players shouldn't care. They have had trouble winning in front of sellouts. Also their paychecks aren't going to bounce. Attendance is going to be the 4th highest in team history. Lack of fans in the stands is not and should not be an issue.
  23. Obviously the crowds for KC have been very weak. It exposes the Sox small relatively small season ticket base. More people should be at the park, but on the other hand, the players shouldn't be commenting on attendance. Its going to be the 4th highest in franchise history. That and the fact that they haven't played all that well when the stadium has been packed should be enough for them not to comment.
  24. Great job by the Count. Personally I think its time for the bullpen.
