  1. Exactly. They could afford to give billionaires tax cuts on money they will never spend, they can afford to do enough for the people who need it.
  2. I think the direct payments should definitely be higher. I don't know if they have to be $2000 but $600 doesn't get you very far. I think the Unemployment supplement should be at least $450. You max out in IL at under $500 a week. Lots of people out of work with families, mortgages, car payments and other bills. Kind of hard to make it work at under $800 a week. And there should be more for small businesses. Restaurants have been screwed. I don't understand why the tax break for business lunches was added. Pretty stupid. Maybe that is a bone to some restaurants, but not the majority.
  3. If you don't need it, you could donate it to someone or an organization who does.
  4. How many Vandy GMs are there? The other problem is being a GM isn't a big career goal for a major leaguer that has banked a lot of cash. It pays a lot less than playing, and you get a lot more blame if things don't work out. The fact is Dombrowski is going to get all of the credit or all of the blame depending how the Phillies perform. Young may get some credit, I don't know how Daniels role will evolved, but they didn't give Dombrowski $20 million to lay the blame or give the credit to someone else.
  5. I never said it was. I said it was pretty close to that status as an academic institution.
  6. You can say that, but 2 hires don't make a trend, and they are going to run out of Ivy League major leaguers who want a career in a front office pretty quickly. Dombrowski is Fuld's boss and he is pretty much the opposite.
  7. No, but Young is an Ivy Leaguer, and Stanford is pretty close to that status. It's not like they are hiring some guy who was drafted out of HS or a JUCO but seems to have some baseball acumen. They aren't hiring baseball lifers that "paid their dues" and learned their way up.
  8. Chris Young went to Princeton, and Fuld went to Stanford, so these are pretty bright guys.
  9. If the owners are as broke as they claim, someone should be able to pick up Darvish for peanuts if they take his contract.
  10. PA man arrested for voter fraud. He registered as his dead mother and voted for Trump. He also registered his dead mother in law.
  11. They won’t. Whenever Greg comes back just read his stuff. He doesn’t care about the truth. He likes these people so whatever they say goes.
  12. Its his son. He worked for the Dodgers and Mets. Got fired both places but not for being an entitled brat 99.9% of the time would be the case.Graduated from the same school as Trump. Then became a Marine. Interesting guy, definitely has a grudge . Would be wild if this started a feud with Terry, but holding a parent accountable for their offsprings tweets wouldn't be sincere especially since Mr.Legit has 2 daughters from his first marriage he refuses to admit exist.
  13. The exact same thing happened on 3 of Fox News' shows.
  14. So Joni Ernst who claimed doctors were faking Covid deaths to make money, got her vaccination today.
  15. One thing he could do to show he is sincere and legit, is to voluntarily install one of those devices he would have to blow into to get his car started. I have an alcoholic family member who has never been arrested. He has driven drunk many times, hundreds if not thousands, been to rehab 4 times. Been in an ambulance twice after falling down drunk, once at a Home Depot and once at a liquor store. The thing that finally , cross my fingers, seemed to work was being monitored. He had to blow into a machine twice a day and the results went directly to a doctor. It could determine if hehad a sip. After that ran its course, he volunteered a device for his car.
  16. I would agree except with LaRussa saying he doesn't have a drinking problem. If he determined that to be the case, fine but leave it to yourself. Say something like you have taken alcohol counseling and learned a lot about yourself. A guy handcuffed twice for driving drunk 8snt going to win anyone over by saying he has no problem. There are many of us White Sox fans who have had their lives effected by a drunk driver whether the victim is the fan himself or a close friend or family member. For something the team supposedly has zero tolerance for happening again, they didn't take the first rerun too seriously.
  17. Could you imagine if the Sox actually eliminated LaRuusa after they were made aware? NIGHTENGALE would have written a column the day they announced Hinch saying LaRussa was a done deal if it wasn't for his 2nd DUI arrest. And we all would be thinking OK Bob.
  18. He's always straightforward, that is probably why he admitted to this cop he had one glass of wine and admitted when they found him passed out at the wheel in FL he had 2 glasses. He's a punk ass clown.
  19. FoxNews had to run retractions on Lou Dobbs show Jeanne Pirros show and Maria Bartaroma's show about someone their false claims for fear of another lawsuit.
  20. I think Draft Pick is a bit too much after reading this post. It is more undrafted free agent quality.
  21. It does say obey the orders of the president but also support and defend the constitution which does not support martial law . Flynn admitted Trump would have to put the constitution on pause to do this. A true patriot. Just the fact that Trump even considered this should be enough to involk the 25th.
  22. And now POTUS finally says something about the big cyber attack, and he comtradicts his intelligence, and his SoS, says it was overblown, it wasn’t that big, and it was probably China, not Russia. Putin is going to miss comrade Trump.
  23. Exactly. What, you were arrested for drunk driving again? Please be our manager, we will give you several million a year the next 3 years guaranteed. Just don’t answer any questions, don’t talk to the press, we will put it on our PR team to make this story go away. We are sure your lawyer get get the charges reduced, after all it’s been a decade since you fell asleep while driving drunk. They can’t hold that against you. I have a feeling that most people if they let a potential employer know about a dui arrest, their second, would be eliminated from consideration. Considering the White Sox situation, you would think there were were other candidates worthy of the job.
