Right. But if that is the case, don't you have your visits first? -

There might be something there that could out his source to Sox officials is the only thing I can think of. -

So they are telling us this isn't about money but everything is being left up to the agent to come up with finalists. OK. -

As great as Crochet looked, he still has 5 career innings and an elbow andshoulder whose even short term health is questionable. -
Someone in NY just tested positive for Covid with the new variant.

He's played for Toronto and his offseason home is in Florida, so there's a decent chance it's around Dunedin. -

It might work on some other team. If the White Sox haven't bid enough for him by now, chances are, they aren't getting him. -

It might be a plant to drive up a price. But not the White Sox price. I think agents know they aren't going to maneuver their way to an extra $10 million from them. -

During the winter of 2013-2014, Hendriks was one of those guys that went for a ride with waiver claims. He was claimed 3 times, including once by the Cubs. Nice job by him to go from filler who is being passed around, to getting paid. -
Almost every game Mitch throws an INT or what should have been an INT in the endzone. He is a back up or some guy you can use in a wildcat or some trick offense. But he is never going to be a franchise QB, and even if he plays well, he will always do something stupid that will cost you a game you need to win.

Blake Snell and Yu Darvish traded to San Diego
Dick Allen replied to Sleepy Harold's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Taking on Darvish's contract was a non starter for the White Sox. If they had signed Machado and Wheeler, since MLB won't let you trade international money this year, and that avenue is shut off for some financial relief, JR would be trading them and giving up prospects to teams that would take the money. -
Trade Whispers - Starting Pitchers

Gray also sucked one year in Oakland. I don’t think he would fold with the White Sox, but supposedly he cost too much for the Sox earlier, so did the White Sox have a change of heart or did the Reds lower his price? -

The food guys do seem to be the same guy or are just buddies who have one with a source and play along. I do think there is a source, but since they have become more known, they seem to include some of their own ideas into their posts, and you can tell they don’t have much of a clue if they were on their own making stuff up. -

I have a hard time believing the Brewers would trade Woodruff unless some team is willing to really overpay, or they know something the rest of us don’t. Unless they have a hard on for a guy like Kopech, and the Sox were willing to let him go. -

If Gray doesn’t cost you Cease or Kopech, it makes sense acquiring him. But giving up on those guys will shorten the window. Sonny Gray had a couple of crappy years himself before he seemed to find the magic again. I wasn’t a big fan of trading 6 years of Dunning for 1 year of Lynn, but if the Sox win, it was worth it. -

The only reason to care about them is they have some of the players that would make the White Sox better. From the left side of their infield to their new rotation additions. The White Sox are still short on pitching for a team that thinks it is entering a period of sustained success and multiple championships. The offense was going to probably be fine if they did nothing. Robert should be better, whatever they did in RF even if it was bring Mazara back would have been better. Moncada should be better. DH will be better. I hope they don’t trade Vaughn. Eloy is going to hit a ton of homers. Abreu probably regresses a bit, but offense wasn’t a problem. They still need a reliable starter and probably a closer, and if not a closer, some more bullpen for sure. -

I wish the goal was to get as good as possible, not just to hopefully be better than 4 small market teams. -

That scares me. Sonny Gray has been really good the last couple of years, but I think Cease is not a guy to give up on right now. There is a chance he can give you what Gray gives you for a fraction of the price and for many more seasons. The Sox need to get him with a fairly normal off season and spring training, and see what the new coach can do for him. I know his k rate dropping alarmed some, but he still has his stuff. I do think if they traded for a back up catcher, Collins would probably be part of what was going the other way as well. -
Yes. Being Grandal’s back up probably isn’t all that attractive to a free agent. Chances are you aren’t going to get a lot of starts. I still think they should have traded McCann before last season. Maybe you wouldn’t have got much, but you would have had a better idea about Collins. And it wasn’t as if McCann was going to be the difference of being in a WS or not. I don’t think they will do much more than sign a guy to a minor league deal like the Marlins did with Sandy Leon. They should be able to tell if Collins defense will be enough in spring training, and if not, they will be able to get someone who can call a game and frame for a minor leaguer we will never hear about again.

They had a Operation Warp Speed guy on and he was blaming snowstorms and holidays for the lower than predicted vaccination totals. It’s December/January , they didn’t anticipate snow, and forgot about holidays?

So does this all mean if the Sox would have signed Machado they would be doing what the Cubs are doing now? JR should really sell the team if he can’t compete financially. Talk about sustained success and multiple championships is cheaper than him. -
The las time they were all in the had Dioner Navarro, Brett Lawrie, 100 year old Jimmy Rollins, and Austin Jackson up the middle.

Ted Cruz is leading another group of R Senators that will reject the Electoral College. What a pussy. The same guy Trump accused of rigging the Iowa Caucuses. How come he wasn’t for a do over then? https://www.reuters.com/article/us-usa-election-trump-cruz/trump-accuses-cruz-of-stealing-iowa-caucuses-through-fraud-idUSKCN0VC1Z6 Ted used to have a different opinion. https://www.cnn.com/2016/05/03/politics/donald-trump-rafael-cruz-indiana/index.html
